you would be wrong. Due to the power output it would be classed the same as a motorcycle. Here in AU anything above 250W output can get you charged with operating an unregistered vehicle
100% torque from zero rpm. makes perfect sense on a trials bike. I'm surprised it was not more popular sooner. A lot has changed since bultaco & beta 2 strokes.
suspension looks well tuned for a trials bike, awesome standing torque, I like it lots, be great on hills...what batteries do you use? Quick charging would be great, LiFePO4 cells?
Hi Ian awesome video at first I thought Wow Northwich has a bit I have never seen lol till the video got to the mountains in the background part. got to say its one of the best versions of an E-bike I have ever seen and thats including the american dirt bike ones, which are also cool but over there etc
Nice! I do like the idea of an electric bike, someday I'll own one, for now they just need to improve battery life and lose some weight. eBikes do have some advantages like never stalling and zero shifting.
You can have either the rear brake lever or the clutch lever as an option. The clutch on ebikes works as an on/off switch so instead of twisting the throttle constantly you can control the power delivery more easily, just like a combustion bike, it's very useful unless you absolutely enjoy a wrist tendinitis.
The fun thing about electric is the evolution. there are ebikes being released with 15Kw about 20 hp and 3Kw batteries! so yea.. prices will drop and inovation happens fast! Exciting!
£6000 is in line with the price of the recently launched Vertigo, so whilst I'll not have 6k of slushy cash in my lifetime, it's not unheard of. I mean, Montesa 4RT's were considered pricey when they came out, and the retail was £5k - with Honda's money behind them and world titles that sold units. Electric bikes are a new technology and (relatively) have nothing going for them, so I think that they are well priced in terms of where they are aimed in the market. I'd personally love a shot on one.
Ciaran Cargan difference is that you can keep a petrol bike going for years. That battery (which makes up about 2-3k of the price) has a finite number of charging cycles before its dead. It’s a problem that affects all electric vehicles (hi Tesla owners, did you budget £40k to replace your battery packs in a couple of years?). Basically once they are dead the replacement cost is prohibitive - you will see the secondhand market for hybrids and electric cars tank once they get old enough to hit the charge limits as there is literally no option but to shell out to replace the cells. In a few years, maybe it stops being a novelty or something for rich folks who can dispose of it when the battery dies, or as I suspect will be the case (as it is with Tesla cars), they will palm them off on some poor sap who thinks they are getting a decent secondhand bike or car. People are still buying them used like they are a honda, but they’ll learn the hard way, and the same will be true of these. I like the idea, but it’s too pricey for what is basically a toy - it hasn’t got the range or recharge rate to be useful for anything other than an hour of fun plus five hours charging, which rules it out of the big trials events across moorland, etc.
@@tompava3923 sorry, but without hot-swappable batteries that are standardised, or the use of something like dry aluminium cells, which could recycle scrap aluminium that can be topped up rapidly, the fact is that petrol vehicles are more convenient and batteries have a finite charging cycles before a significant expense and a large part of the bike/car has to be replaced. I am, by the way, a big proponent of making the switch as soon as possible - it’s just the technology and infrastructure aren’t really quite there yet. It’s close to being sorted, though.
Not wise to do in the city. You'll get the sport and yourself a bad name. Plenty of weird terrain in the country. Time to get a conscience. You're an adult now.
It makes more sence in the urban jungle. a trials corse could be built as easy as a skate park without the need of loud noise annoying the neighbours , therefore no need to travel into the country despite the awsome video
i have been arguing that trials bikes would be an awesome use of electric technology, but in this video there is almost no trials riding at all. Can these bikes do actual trials riding or just toned down moto/enduro type riding?
This video will be shown in historical films about the electric revolution. Beautiful.
For those looking around they seem to be around 8-10K USD from different manf's
the cool thing is you could get on so much more land without people giving a shit because it makes no noise
Tom Hudson and its also completely legal to ride anywhere bicycles can because its classed as a e=bike
o shit, are you sure?
Tom Hudson im positive
Thinking of building one

@@toddkendrick6119 It's very cool, but NOT an ebike, says this ebike rider. First off, no pedals! Power, too much, second.
100% torque from zero rpm. makes perfect sense on a trials bike. I'm surprised it was not more popular sooner. A lot has changed since bultaco & beta 2 strokes.
No electric motor produces 100% torque at zero rpm.

Myslovitz in the background - greetings from Poland
Love this video! Nice work, nice skills
very nice product and video. I wish I could switch off the music and hear the sound of this bike
stephane Z what sound dude? Its electric bike...sound like a winch in my toyota hilux haha
Northwich appears to have changed a lot since I last went there.
cool vid, what helmet you wearing please.
would be the ultimate stealth bike, aside from batteries running out of juice
trials bikes are perfectly suited to be electric. 100& torque @ zero rpm & dont need long range as distance is not as relevent as a dirtbike or mx .
Gread video - looks like really good fun. I wanna see more ;-D
This is the future, wonder what the weight and balance is like in comparison to a gas gas or something.
northwich ? the city is Le Vigan, Gard, south of france !
Awesome! I would buy one! W about price? in russia
Welcome.
What battery is there?
What engine power?
Looks like fun, I wonder how many times it took to recharge to make this video?
Hello, iam the rider on the bike, and we recharge the bike only once!!

Damn i´m 13 and i love my electric motion so much!
Your dad must be loaded
How long can you ride before the battery dies ?
Between 2 and 3 hours // 2000 cycles // more information www.electric-motion.fr
Nice Video!
that looks like the most fun ever
nice ride bro...!!! keep on rolling ;-D
Where do you buy that bike
Ian would like to know where it sells pq already looked at all that place and nothing
Not the same, but same thing ; store.kuberg.com/bike
did I purchase on Amazon???
may I know what the trail bike brand is and what the price is
para conducirla se necesita algún tipo de licencia?
With it being a e bike would he still have to use a clutch, or are the 2 levers front and rear brake?
the clutch doesent matter because its powerd by an electric engine... but if you want to change gears faster when your moving...
it doesnt have gears so it doesnt need a clutch so both levers are brakes
You can have either the rear brake lever or the clutch lever as an option. The clutch on ebikes works as an on/off switch so instead of twisting the throttle constantly you can control the power delivery more easily, just like a combustion bike, it's very useful unless you absolutely enjoy a wrist tendinitis.
Sandlot Rider on/off switch wont make controlling the power delivery any easier
+HusseJumala XD just like a PW-50
