@@AndrewEblingwhat's really nice is you burn as many calories as you need to!
The reality of using a bike for commuting is that you might be late, you might be tired, there might be any number of reasons you're behind. And an ebike helps you with that. Especially if you want to flow with city traffic better.
I will say for city street use at some point we do need some kind of safety course requirement or license.

@@tanakax25I had to ride a normal bike up 3 giant hills to get to and from work in the middle of the night as a teenager. I got into insanely good shape, and was proud of my ability, but if I had the option for an e-bike I would've taken it in a heartbeat 😂 Showing up to work sweaty and already tired sucks. And then having to grind your way all the way back home after an 8 hour shift sucks even worse

@@GlorifiedGremlin right! I love biking, but I'm not up for that EVERY DAY. And even when I think I am up for it, I get a shitty day that tires me out.. or I'm late coming in, or the wind is against me, or I have to tackle a couple hills like you said.
My favorite part of having an ebike right now is going through grass fields since my area doesn't have many bike trails. I just roll over bumpy tall grass fields with ease. On my normal MTB that would be EXHAUSTING

    • @iviui2d3i2
      @iviui2d3i2 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Same situation for me except I got a decently made E-scooter. License got taken 8 years ago, and I've always had that serious 'wanderlust' since I was taught to ride a gas dirtbike by the time I was a few months shy of my 5th birthday (since apparently I had 'mastered' riding a regular bicycle w/o any training wheels just after turning 3yrs). But back to the Epilepsy issue, because of always having the itch to simply explore anywhere and everywhere, I became rather depressed; the feeling of being stuck in a minimum security prison, or having to be on a house arrest perhaps, had been taking a toll on my sense of freedom and general happiness. Walking, taking public transportation, and even riding a traditional bicycle just wasn't cutting it for me in the area I live. Bought the electric scooter last year and even with just a 24mph/38kph top speed, and about a 40 mile range (in 'ECO' Mode), though I get approximately a more realistic 20-25 mile range since I can't keep my heavy thumb out of the throttle. It brings a simple happiness into my days that no damn antidepressants could ever come close to doing for me. I've been looking to upgrade though and can't decide between an E-bike or a new scooter I've had my eye on that is twice as beefy as my current ride. Anyway, glad to see another 'flopper' here making a comment that reflects the same sentiment and reasoning as myself. Carpe Diem

@@Mike-oxlong1029something that would be much better is all cars have an interlock device for drunk drivers. Driving is not a right so we shouldn't even make it possible for someone to start a street legal vehicle while drunk. Only exceptions would be driving on your own property for work and most people don't have land like that anyway so the farmers would be fine and everyone else would be far safer. Honestly we're in the worst times for transportation, too late for horses and too early for all self driving cars. It's just like elevators used to have a driver's and everyone was scared to trust the automatic ones over someone controlling it when it's been proven countless times that we are terrible at everything we do when compared to computers and processing information efficiently. All self-driving cars should be their own independent entity though to make it extremely difficult to hack someone's car or even say you break a law and your car automatically takes you to the police station or something haha

the whole fun of riding is the fact that you're getting a great workout and getting to your location tho!. Not to mention people who get E bikes generally little-> No trail etiquette or knowledge (especially new immigrants who take their ENTIRE family pf 4-6 as a group , on their brand new 4k$ bikes and go down the trails as slow as possible....and just stand in groups randomly around corners... I've crashed into these groups over 3 times in 2021 alone on mt.Seymour.. on one occasion i almost knocked a child off the edge of a small embankment because his parents were lwtting his walk along the ladder ramps like a damn jungle gym... If I didn't bail and jump off of the 10' high track I was on I would have hit the kid Is going 15 km an hour and he would have fallen down and possibly broken his neck or back as there were logs below us down about 12-13ft.. and then a steeo embankment.. he must have been maybe 7 years old if that. So I had to literally jump off my bike and let myself and my bike fall 12' into a bushy area because there was no way I could slow down in time to avoid the child as to not give him serious concussion or throw him or knock him off the ladder bridge. This has never happened before with anyone on the mountain let alone a child with parents. and I live in the Northwest of British Columbia where mountain biking is 1 of the most popular things you can do here Aside from water sports and mountain climbing/hiking. they're kind of ruining it for the people who ride actual mountain bikes under their own power without those obnoxious2steoke bolt on motors or ebikes... As soon as they get to the bottom of the hill they pack up their bikes as quick as possible and drive out of there as not to be ridiculed by the dozens of other actual mountain bikers hanging out in the parking lot having a good time bonding over the difficult but fulfilling ride they just had... they're definitely not seen as part of the community that's for sure. I'm not saying ebikes can't be fun I'm just saying All of this could be resolved if we just put up some signs reminding people on ebikes not to congregate on actual trails and that people not riding ebikes are much more silent and you're not gonna hear me coming down a trail when I'm going 40km an hour fast enough for you to move out of the way in time if you're just standing there gawking at the trees like an idiot with your $4000 digital camera... Or if we actually had effective park Rangers who understood the safety hazards these travelers and foreigners cause when they come onto our bike parks and and trails thinking it's some simple recreation area when in fact you could get severely injured or kill yourself ( While it is unlikely it's certainly possible I've had 2 or 3 friends severely injured going off jumps and landing wrong including 2 of which that had punctured lungs as well as one with a broken forearm that had exposed bone... if you get in the way of someone coming down a hillfull speed.. YOUR the danger and the reason for a crash. there is no speed limit on the trail. but our signs arnt in mandarin or farsi so they dont understand the danger or rules for safety...
My bad I definitely got off subject don't get me wrong I think e bikes are really cool I just think the last place anyone should be allowed to or should be riding them at all is on a actual downhill trail.. If you keep them on the roads I couldnt care less about ppl riding them. even then though people who ride bicycles on the road rarely obey traffic laws and go through red lights all the time..but that's a whole different story though and a whole different type of stupid.

A 60nm motor is just enough to help you out on long climbs or up technical sections. We see how much we can ride with them off, or on lowest setting. I ride 6 to 7 days a weeks around 20 miles per ride on my e-bike in PAS 1 for assisted exercise. I’ve lost 38 pounds in about 6 months, thanks in part to diet changes and exercise. Yes diet is the most important, but you need exercise to keep up muscle and get past weight plateau. I live in a pretty hilly area and unless I was in better shape, having to ride strenuously all the time a regular bike was discouraging, not to mention I wouldn’t be able to explore. Not everyone is speeding around on e-bikes. I’m maybe 3 to 5 miles per hour faster than Normal mtb, but like 5 to 10 slower than road bikes, avg about 12 mph on flat trails, roadies litterly fly by me. DIY e-bike too it’s cheaper.

It really helps the rider go for longer and further before getting tired. If you ride them to its full capacity for a few hours it’s an awesome workout and a great fuckign time. For me it depends on the type of e-bike. I personally absolutely despise the folding ones because they sh*t the bed in a heatbeat. I got one yesterday and I had to wrestle with all of my strength to fold it and then it wouldn’t turn on. Then the front tire was all messed up. So I immediately threw it in the dumpster and it’s gone now. I’m not gonna even bother selling it, because I’d rather not stress anyone out who is dumb enough to buy it. It just needs to be destroyed at a recycling center. Never again. I’m still really angry about that.
However, I do love the non folding fat tire E-bikes with the battery on the frame instead of inside of it. Those work like a charm!

One day, I was riding my e-bike, Rad Runner Plus from Rad Power Bikes(I highly recommend them) and I was riding through the streets of San Francisco, Mission district for you locals, and there was this old chubbier white dude why was peddling his own bike. Back then the bike lanes were off onto the shoulders of Valencia street. My bike is capped out at 20 mph and I was just peddling and cruising through the street. The guy took a notice of it and immediately started riding aggressively around me, like he literally pedaled up to my side and tried cutting me off and literally do what is mocked in this short. By the time I got to 16th street he caught up to me and started swearing at me. I straight up turn to him and loudly said “hey I’m just trying to get to work.” Never saw him or heard from him again, I normally don’t like wishing ill wills but I wouldn’t mind if someone had hit him or anything. Point is he won’t be missed, oh yeah he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
I remember talking about it at work and was thinking “I’m sorry that I have a bike that is electronically assisted compared to him. At that point it’s his ego that’s talking and he think a bike is a a bike if you pedal with no assistance and it is a motorcycle once there’s a motor attached to it.
I remember thinking that at some point there will be more complications since people are more often than not reckless than they realize. That is not their faults, but rather they never been properly instructed on the rule of the road. As a licensed Driver, I know the rules of what to do and what not to do on the road. Simple as that. However kids don’t know these laws because for most of us who do ride bikes it’s essentially treated like a skateboard, roller skates/blades, and a unicycle. It’s a means for quicker transportation that’s not a car and not walking. Both of which just doesn’t happen overnight, it’s practice. Once someone gets the hang of riding a bike, they’ll ride it everywhere and there’s no law on where you can or can’t take your bike, besides trespassing.
However San Francisco has been repaving their roads to dedicate space for bike lanes. Because we all know how selfish car drivers are when it comes to sharing the damn road.
If we’re going to ban e bikes, then we should start banning cars too, since all these means of transportation are harmful and unsafe.
How stupid does the government think we are, pretty damn stupid, and we’re constantly adding more reasons to justify their claims. Good job America.
