I was a staff-songwriter at H&L Records back in the 70s. It was owned by Hugo & Luigi, writers of that song along with George David Weiss. It was always one of my favorites of theirs. Lovely rendition.

You’ve made effective use of the electric's ability to sustain, as well as inserting those pauses and single-note moments that let us really take in the simple beauty of this piece. Chet Atkins once said that it's important to pay attention to the space between the notes; you make me understand what he must have meant. Well done.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, and was unable to see the bridge saddle configuration on your Tele.
Perhaps you have an old (original Fender style bridge with only 3 bridge inserts), which could explain why it sounds like your guitars intonation needs to be dialed in.
If you DO have the old style 3 insert bridge, I would strongly suggest that you locate a more harmonious 6 insert replacement, so that the instrument can do your beautiful rendition justice. You deserve as much! :)

Emil Ernebro “better” is subjective. This version is beautiful in its own right. I just think the other version is f*****g brilliant. As opposed to this one which is brilliant.
