How many times is this podcast going to bring up Barkley? It’s getting nauseating. Regardless if he breaks the record it took him an extra game. That * should be by his name

When OJ Simpsons 14 game rushing record was broken nobody put a * next to it.

I don’t know, this is an NFL podcast and it’s a story about a 40 year old record in which running backs today are basically considered interchangeable. 🤦

@@cradd2405 Adrain Peterson was 8 yards away from breaking Dickerson’s record and which he did in 16 games. That season was more impressive than what Barkley is doing

@@idolnash13 Barkley is -10000 at FanDuel to win offensive player of the year. Seems justified bringing up his name.

NFL is not like MLB, where both teams have 9 innings and the starting pitcher can be replaced by relievers. In NFL a team can have 6 to 14 possessions and the number of possessions is dependent on the offensive strategy of the team. Teams like the Bengals (Burrows) and Cousins have 14 inning games, teams like WAS, BUF, PHI, BALand KC have 7 inning games. Thus, as good or bad as these teams DEF is, it will yield less points than if their OFF played the high possesions games like the Bengals and any Cousins led teams. Also, TO and failed 4th down conversions (near midfield) is like having the pitchers' starting their inning with stranded runners. Can't believe that Burrows keeps on getting "should be MVP", when he is forcing his "starting pitcher" to go 14 innings, yes, of course, the offense will score more as they also get the advantage of tired DEF that have already used their "special plays" to an ineffective supersaturated level. The biggest reason that MIN defense is far better this year (they were considered the worst DEF in NFL before this year) IS because they don't have Cousins at QB.....The Falcons DEF will also be far better now as they'll have less "stranded runners" and more 7 to 9 innings games. This is why Montgomery is NEEDED, so the DEF doesn't have to defend extra possessions or start their innings with "stranded runners". Frankly, DEF is more related to their counterpart OFF algorithm than actual talent and regular NFL games don't have a set of 9 innings, it has a set of 60 MINUTES.

The Vikings QB1 was injured half of the year and that roster was still good enough for 7 wins. Then they added a former #3 overall pick QB(like the Lions with Goff, how hard is a coaches job when they have all the talent in the world?)
The Commanders on the other hand went from 4 wins and picking #2 overall to a playoff birth and their 1st 11(+?) win season since 1991. Dan Quinn is Coach of the Year.

Eh it's more about expectations. The Vikings were expected to win 6 or 7 games while the commanders were expected to win 5 or 6. The Vikings have performed better than expectation and most people considered Darnold a bust.
