FYI for cat 6... stand near the elevator button, and as soon as the red light appears near each floor, hold square/X to pause the elevator and triangle/Y it to death. No need to do it while the elevator is moving, and you can even adjust the elevator height if you're just a bit too low/high to blast it away. I couldn't do it like he did in the video in like 10-ish tries and then discovered the simple way of doing it.
OK so Cat 04, you don't start at the Collapsed Department, you start at Transit Access and head west and then north until you reach the higher exit out on to to the Crossroads canyon on the LEFT/WEST to reach the ledge. It's the exit after an inscription room. From there you can reach the higher ledges shown in the video.

CAT 8 is near the CAVE SYSTEM Checkpoint (he says "Cave Bridge" by mistake) .. from that check point, go to the only bridge in that area, you can climb by growing the rocks on the wall. hope this is useful.

I found Cats 3, 5, 6, and 8 on my own. I basically walked by Cats 1 and 2 (picked up gold cube, didn't see the Launch indicator on the bathroom door; turned valve, didn't connect it to showers in mobile lab) and came nowhere close to 4 and 7. Thank goodness for this guide.
One thing that would make the guide even better is instead of naming the cats by number, name them by color, because all 8 cats have different color, so this way, people who already have some of the cats dont have to go through all of them because they dont know which ones they are missing. For example, if you are missing the green cat just jump to the time code where the green cat is found. Numbering them makes no sense because you don't know which cat is Cat #3.
how are you going to come across a cat and forget which one you did? if you go through the video, you'll know which cat you've been to already. numbering is fine man you're asking for way too much but your own laziness is to blame

The elevator puzzle... You can stop the elevator to destroy the corruption. Just press square/X at the elevator control panel, and circle/B?. Than again start and stop, until all destroyed. I think that the cat ears make enemies easier? Not sure though... BTW You can have them equipped throughout the entire FBC.
That's a great trick! certainly helped me out during that cat. just doing small jumps at that point helps alot, as long as it's right in front/just below you when you melee.
if you struggle to get the hiss spots on the elevator, just press the elevator button and it will stop it. you can do this to go up and down and few feet etc.
I don't know if this still works. I couldn't get it to spawn doing this. Did manage it at full speed, anyway. Good luck to anyone trying it in the future.
After getting the ears I shot the top left most cat statue to see if there was another layer to this, and it crashed my game. Not sure if it was just a super immersive feature, or an actual bug...

I found an alternate way of getting cat 2 without using the golden cube. I took a spare power generator cube from one of next areas and brought it to the bathroom and threw it into the slot; it worked the same as the golden cube in the video. I guess the game sees the golden cubes and power generator cubes as interchangeable. Well now I know the way you are intended to solve the puzzle; thanks!
I found Cats 3, 5, 6, and 8 (in that order BTW) on my own. After searching the entire Foundation for anything that looked remotely out of place or odd, I finally caved and came looking for this video. I came close to Cats 1 and 2, but not close enough. Without this guide, I wouldn't have been able to find them or Cats 4 and 7. Thanks! 2nd playthrough, and I only had to refer to this video to find Cats 2 and 7. Once again, thanks!

Elevator tip: For those of you playing this on xbox one. Where the game basically freezes every time you pause the game. YOU CAN JUST STOP THE ELEVATOR. Hit x when you see the red glow and the elevator will stop. Also some of the nodes did not disappear after I got them. But they still made the sound like I hit them. Fyi
I like the wall with the Rita Hayworth poster, which goes with the dialogue earlier in the game, which is connected to Shawshank Redemption. A lot of Easter Eggs like this in the game. One of the best games I've played in a long time!

Bonus tip for cat n. 6 (that made me try it out too many times 🤣) - if you stay close to the elevator controls, as soon as you hear the Hiss core sound, hold F (on PC) or the equivalent for consoles to open the elevator controls. This will stop the elevator. than exit the controls menu (ESC on PC) and you can freely move with the elevator perfectly still. Repeat for each core. 😁

Little late to the party, I am, but I figured out a small cheat that basically applies anywhere in the game. If you are falling to your death in between those stone walkways or anywhere in the game for that matter, quickly pause the game before she dies and go back to the main menu. This will save you the 10% source lost everytime you die. Just "continue game" at the main menu and you'll respawn at the same exact place without losing any source. This strategy might come in handy for anyone stuck on a boss.

4:32 QC: The text guide says to use the far-right path (through the Fractured Cavern) in the Collapsed Dept, but the map shows far-left. Emerging from the spawn point it would be the right, to be fair, but I found it a bit confusing.
Facing the battery on the elevator, the pattern of corrupted blocks goes as follows. (Enter elevator from 5th floor, face the battery, then turn left) Left side, back side (“battery wall”), right side (right side of elevator of the battery wall), and front where the doors are. If you miss just press button for floor five and restart.
I couldn't get the cat 5, only for me to realize that I wasn't on the bottom floor, and I've randomly found another secret room which also had the painting, but wasn't the right secret room...
@@akashekorp Yes, I found it. Turns out I was confused about the hidden location and only investigated the room at the top. That one only had a box with a mod. The one intended is on the ground floor I think and it has the poster and all. I hope you find it right away!
Quick tip on the elevator, you can stop the elevator during your trip to go up or down while the elevator is moving. Makes it easier to get, or to go back if you missed one.

Tip on cat6, you can stop the elevator by pressing the elevator button while riding it. Once you hear the node noise just press it and it should be easier
You can actually stop the elevator by interacting with the Elevator button while it's moving, you don't have to line up perfectly to hit those red Hiss thingies just go as near as possible
I actually managed to get the Cat in the Astral Bathroom by bringing a Power Node from one of the nearby rooms with me instead of throwing the Astral Plane equivalent in that bathroom in the Secret Location. I found it funny it actually worked lol
Easy Elevator: Starting from level 3 to level 6 When you see red light press the button and the elevator will stop, then destroy red anomaly, then again press the button and choose level 6. Repeat 4 times. On the top you’ll see the cat.
Does anyone happen to know if the bug where you didn’t get ability points from all the hidden areas is fixed? As in, if I go to them again will I get the points I was missing?
I had the hardest time with the gold cube in the toilet area.... But it seems that the information that most people are saying, may not be exactly true. This video shows the player throw 2 gold cubes... the first one he trows at the hidden toilet area (near Astral Collision)... then he says the second gold cube appears in the other bathroom area. Well for me that first gold cube never ever appears. But... there is always a black cube there. I can throw the black cube off into the mist... and it will respawn instantly. The only way to make that black cube stop respawning, is to throw it into that spot where this guy says to throw the first gold cube. After that, the gold cube is in the 2nd bathroom location (shown in this video).
Definitely confirmed... sometimes the cubes do not get the Gold texture. When I went to get the 7th cat at (Astral Tower PW), I shot the floor like the video shows... but that cube down there was black too. Never the less, I threw it into the receptacle and was still awarded a cat.
You can actually stop the elevator. Press X on the elevator button when the red shows up but don't choose a floor, just press B. You can actually make the elevator go up and down if it went to far to melee the red spot. Just choose either the 5th floor to go down or 6th floor to go up. Then just press the elevator button again like right before you want and press B. I also noticed that the red doesn't show up going down the elevator, just when going up initially.
The temptation to put my controller through the TV when I realised I had to go back into the chasm with no ahti. Managed to find a light.... Eventually.....
Cat 4. Start at teansit and go to LEFT crossroad pathway. Not right pathway. Also, stop the elevator using the button to hit the nodes. Note: they do not go away when hit, just hit all 4 and you'll be good

i never knew about this BUT when i "completed" the game and the first set of credits rolled and i ended up in the office space the only thing that spawned in was the cat ears for about 20-30 seconds then jesse spawned in and i could play as normal, this was way before i played the foundation DLC. clearly just a glitch but still very strange
7:00 Cat 6 you can stop the elevator for the hiss corporations by trying to select a floor and backing out, did it by accident cause I fucked up the first time, was a walk in the park after that.
6:30. Don't pause the game, just press F on the elevator and cancel, that will stop the elevator from climbing, if you get wrong, just press to got o 5 floor, and than stop again to go to the 6 floor to stop the elevator right on the spot.

You wont believe me but already grabed the 8 cats and still one missing at the door... redid it 4 times... spent from 7 pm to 11 pm doing it again and again and they wont show.
Important information, you'll need to have the launch strength upgrade for the launch ability in order to move the rocks for the one in the chasm. I didn't have that and had forgotten it was a thing, got stuck on that one looking up a bunch of different guides until i remembered i thought i saw something about lifting larger stuff and saw the upgrade, none of the guides i found seemed to mention this.

I had the same problem, tooked me half an houre or so to find out that there are two offices with a hidden room. You have to go to the office on the right side, not the left.
Can someone explain where you get the hint to know how to do the black box pyramid puzzle? Cat 03. I don't understand how the player is supposed to know exactly what to do?
HINT/CHEAT for the elevator cat... If you're playing on PC you can use the FLiNG Cheat Trainer to enable "Slow Motion." Makes that part rather trivial if (if you're having trouble). Plus there's some fun other stuff on the trainer's panel too.
For Cat 6 - Stopping the elevator works on PS4/PS5 in 2023. You must USE MELEE ONLY the shield burst does not work, the shield burst destroys the targets, but the cat will not show up.

I couldn't get the cat 5, only for me to realize that I wasn't on the bottom floor, and I've randomly found another secret room which also had the painting, but wasn't the right secret room...

@@akashekorp Yes, I found it. Turns out I was confused about the hidden location and only investigated the room at the top. That one only had a box with a mod. The one intended is on the ground floor I think and it has the poster and all. I hope you find it right away!

Quick tip on the elevator, you can stop the elevator during your trip to go up or down while the elevator is moving. Makes it easier to get, or to go back if you missed one.
Thanks so much for this, found 2 and had an idea for some of the rest but couldn't piece it together. Also I can confirm you can wear the ears outside the Foundation
Tip on cat6, you can stop the elevator by pressing the elevator button while riding it. Once you hear the node noise just press it and it should be easier
You can actually stop the elevator by interacting with the Elevator button while it's moving, you don't have to line up perfectly to hit those red Hiss thingies just go as near as possible
I actually managed to get the Cat in the Astral Bathroom by bringing a Power Node from one of the nearby rooms with me instead of throwing the Astral Plane equivalent in that bathroom in the Secret Location. I found it funny it actually worked lol
Easy Elevator:
Starting from level 3 to level 6
When you see red light press the button and the elevator will stop, then destroy red anomaly, then again press the button and choose level 6. Repeat 4 times.
On the top you’ll see the cat.
Does anyone happen to know if the bug where you didn’t get ability points from all the hidden areas is fixed? As in, if I go to them again will I get the points I was missing?
I had the hardest time with the gold cube in the toilet area....
But it seems that the information that most people are saying, may not be exactly true.
This video shows the player throw 2 gold cubes... the first one he trows at the hidden toilet area (near Astral Collision)... then he says the second gold cube appears in the other bathroom area.
Well for me that first gold cube never ever appears.
But... there is always a black cube there. I can throw the black cube off into the mist... and it will respawn instantly. The only way to make that black cube stop respawning, is to throw it into that spot where this guy says to throw the first gold cube. After that, the gold cube is in the 2nd bathroom location (shown in this video).
Definitely confirmed... sometimes the cubes do not get the Gold texture. When I went to get the 7th cat at (Astral Tower PW), I shot the floor like the video shows... but that cube down there was black too. Never the less, I threw it into the receptacle and was still awarded a cat.
Cat 3 is probably bugged for me. I put all the boxes in ropes area nothing happened

You can actually stop the elevator. Press X on the elevator button when the red shows up but don't choose a floor, just press B.
You can actually make the elevator go up and down if it went to far to melee the red spot. Just choose either the 5th floor to go down or 6th floor to go up. Then just press the elevator button again like right before you want and press B.
I also noticed that the red doesn't show up going down the elevator, just when going up initially.
The temptation to put my controller through the TV when I realised I had to go back into the chasm with no ahti. Managed to find a light.... Eventually.....
Why wouldn't you just fast travel across the chasm?
Ive noticed that the flying enemies cant doge your throws anymore with the cat ears on... seems like it
Cat 4. Start at teansit and go to LEFT crossroad pathway. Not right pathway.
Also, stop the elevator using the button to hit the nodes. Note: they do not go away when hit, just hit all 4 and you'll be good

i never knew about this BUT when i "completed" the game and the first set of credits rolled and i ended up in the office space the only thing that spawned in was the cat ears for about 20-30 seconds then jesse spawned in and i could play as normal, this was way before i played the foundation DLC. clearly just a glitch but still very strange

7:00 Cat 6 you can stop the elevator for the hiss corporations by trying to select a floor and backing out, did it by accident cause I fucked up the first time, was a walk in the park after that.
6:30. Don't pause the game, just press F on the elevator and cancel, that will stop the elevator from climbing, if you get wrong, just press to got o 5 floor, and than stop again to go to the 6 floor to stop the elevator right on the spot.
I was only missing a cat to find but despite the hours spent looking for it I have not found it, the problem is that I have already completed the mission of "found fotage" how can I get the cat?

* Thanks to those that suggested stopping the elevator for Cat 6. That did the trick although, the last hiss cluster didn't disappear for whatever reason. The cat was still waiting for me at the top.
For cat 02 there’s no golden cube …just a normal black cube …what am I missing
6:32 if you press the elevator button, it stops the elevator. No need to time it with photo mode

@@saccarius I did! Warp to Transit Access then follow the path to the LEFT across the threshold bridge and go straight keeping Canyon Rim to the left. following the path that looks like a flipped L. Hope that helps.

You wont believe me but already grabed the 8 cats and still one missing at the door... redid it 4 times... spent from 7 pm to 11 pm doing it again and again and they wont show.
Hi. Found all 8 cats. But next to door there is actually 9 cats. Firs on left -bright green- is missing. Can not open door.
Important information, you'll need to have the launch strength upgrade for the launch ability in order to move the rocks for the one in the chasm. I didn't have that and had forgotten it was a thing, got stuck on that one looking up a bunch of different guides until i remembered i thought i saw something about lifting larger stuff and saw the upgrade, none of the guides i found seemed to mention this.

I had the same problem, tooked me half an houre or so to find out that there are two offices with a hidden room. You have to go to the office on the right side, not the left.
Cat number two there's no Golden Cube to throw into the stall there's nothing there for me. So I don't know if that's a glitch or what

HINT/CHEAT for the elevator cat...
If you're playing on PC you can use the FLiNG Cheat Trainer to enable "Slow Motion."
Makes that part rather trivial if (if you're having trouble). Plus there's some fun other stuff on the trainer's panel too.

@Freelove There are two offices with a hidden room. You have to go to the office on the right side, not on the left.
You do NOT get to Cat 8 from the Cave Bridge. The entrance is in the adjacent room from there.
For Cat 6 - Stopping the elevator works on PS4/PS5 in 2023. You must USE MELEE ONLY the shield burst does not work, the shield burst destroys the targets, but the cat will not show up.
Maybe losing the ears is a PC thing that requires a patch? I just got my ears (thanks, by the way) and I'm rocking 'em in Central Executive.
