Yes has always included Christ in their music. The fact that He has more music devoted to Him that any and all is a fact this group understands. Jon and other members of Yes love Him, and recognizing this in the music they play makes sense. Listening to Yes opens doors to the facts that the Lord is. So lift yourself up and continue searching.
Christ is included in their music, but moreover a general understanding and insight of a higher consciousness in general, as opposed to a clandestine oligarchy and agendas to control, rather than doing EVERYTHING directly from the heart, and thus finding ease in synchronicity in the world
Jon Anderson is actually a strong born-again Christian like myself i saw many interviews with him he even sung on the godpel band 4 Him"s songs @lesblatnyak5947
I hope my son will someday understand the massive significance Trevor Rabin's music had on all of us, and what an honor it is to carry this man's namesake.
+Frankincensed Actually, Peter Banks and Tony Kaye preceded both Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman...plus, Chris Squire was the only constant in Yes' 22 album tenure, having appeared on every album. No other Yes member can boast that...Rest In Peace Chris Squire!
Jennifer Felan Sorry I have not Responded! Never thought I'd get a response! That was 26 years ago! This song gets me every time I hear it. Thank You for Your Kind Response. Me
Love this vibe so much. So positive. Once I grabbed my wife at the 2:00 mark and we held each other and danced in circles. It brought tears to her eyes. Loved it!! beautiful moment. Go for it.
I've been a fan since the beginning, in 1969. Yessongs still one of the best live albums ever recorded. And now so much video of their early stuff! Years more of YES to love! RIP Chris and Alan, your work will remain cherished forever!
I was lucky to see Jon Anderson last year, alone... he still has the voice of an angel. Loved the entire band since about 4-5 years old and I went to the 35th Anniversary tour...If they can keep blowing it up I'll keep going!
Look around - Got no place to stay. God I hate this town, depending on the day. You look me up, you look me down - Alright, OK. While I got no life, I got no hope; I'm falling in love. Help me through the fight; Help me win tonight - I'm calling. What to do I find it hard to know; The road I walk is not the one I chose Lift me up and turn me over; Lead me on into the dawn. Take me to the highest mountain; Tie me up, love in a storm. Have you decided on my fortune? Facing the future in your eyes, With your imperial behaviour We fight amidst the battle cries. Open doors - They may be closed to me; The fire's still burning in my heart... What to do I find it hard to know; I want to turn my life around...
This is one example of how disco and other forms of music took over. If this song had been released in the 70's, it would have been regarded as one of the greatest rock songs ever. Instead, it lies in oblivion and is on virtually no radio playlists. A total pity.
No seventies it wasn't unusual for FM rock radio stations to play deep cuts I know I was usually pleasantly surprised to hear deeper cuts from different groups now now I can't turn on the classic rock station or not almost throw up from the repetitive playing of the top 40 500 times a day everyday and makes me sick argenti go back to the day when the DJ could select a song and play it on the radio instead of the corporate assholes playing a tough 4600 times a day every day it's sickening and I won't even listen to classic rock stations anymore because they play the same songs every day 7 days a week I mean after you've heard a song so many times it's time to stop playing the song and try something different insanity is repeating the same mistakes and I hoping for a different outcome play some new songs on our radio stations please and stop thinking about the almighty dollar because you're actually losing money nobody wants to hear the same f****** songs every f******gay try something different Pleasant and surprise us please
Goes for many of the other Trevor Rabin song also. Some of the very best rock songs ever laid down. There's something wrong with anybody that needs to attach any negative narrative to him or his songs. Their loss. Oh well
I have been to 18 YES concerts. Late 60S and 70s British music had classic education and what came with it is still unbelievable. I'm glad I was young then. Outrageous awesome
RIP Chris Squire...I wanted to post something to FB that he wrote, and I didn't realize that this, one of my all time favorite Yes compositions that I would blast out of my car stereo, was written by him. Great work, great music, left us a great legacy. All musicians worth their salt need to get into the amazing prog rock of Yes
This song really does almost bring together all the parts of Yes's history into one uniform perfect gem of a song. You hear little blips here and there of this album, that song, and son. Yes, it's a Rabin masterpiece, but you can hear Howe's trademark guitar and lap steel in parts, you can hear Chris singing his perfect lower harmonies, you can hear Jon's boyish yells, and so on.
Howe isn't on this song, although I thought he was, too, at first, especially in the intro. But the YesWest material on "Union" was recorded in entirely different sessions then the rest of the album, which started out as ABWH's 2nd album. The only real link between the two groups of songs is Jon Anderson's voice.
Actually Steve didn't even play the guitar on Union. Trevor did all of YesWest's guitar work, but some other guy did Steve's parts. When I remember his name I will edit it in.
It's Jimmy Haun. They left a few of his parts in, but yeah, Haun replaced most of the rest. 3 songs have absolutely no Howe at all. "Masquerade", of course, is all Howe.
@@trfesok haun had to get the record out to meet the deadline. Wakeman and howe were not available. He had no choice but to get similar replacements. The album is actually pretty good. Some classics, some good songs and some filler.
Trevor rabin is. In my opinion. One of the most. Incredible and best . Vocalist and guitar. Genius. And song writers of the 20th century. Its as if. Theres really no where to keep him meaning one place. Or one band or type of musicwould be a crime from film scores to yes hes a true musician
I love this song! It is mind expanding. We must look to Jesus Christ to lift us up from our daily troubles and learn to love in the greatest ways. Jesus can take us by the hand and help us be overcomes as he is one. And he is a friend that sticks close than a brother. A friend in good and bad times. With Him we are truly free and can have bliss forever! :)
I always loved this song as well as the Union album So sad to hear of Allen white's passing Beautiful video God-bless The band Crew and many Fans of yes around the globe
Indeed! Love it when Chris Squire has that thick sound going on. And Alan White's got a nice, deep pocket on this tune. Great footwork throughout and then, during the chorus, the delicate touch on the ride cymbal works so well against the punchier rhythms happening at the same time. This is one well-crafted tune! And even when their lyrics can be easily absorbed, they still find a way to leave a cool message. "God I hate this town, depending on the day."

Not to be mordid. Sorry to be morbid. When I die, someday...I want this song played at my funeral. Live. All my musican friends, plus the church organist, plus a full choir. Can be entrance music, or exit. Don't care either way (I'll be dead).

86 on one of BB's charts. Yes was the total package. They can do long complicated masterpieces. In the 80s they adapted and wrote more radio friendly shorter classics. They rock when needed. They do tender ballads with the voice of Jon. I lost interest after Union when the heart of the band left. Their live shows were top level.

I cannot help myself in loving that which I imagine. But there is no discernible cause to the totality of the love attached to its object: mere evidence of an a-causal connecting principle. The issue with finding this in the world is that this principle underlying our existence is not of our being, but of that of the Demiurge - the creator of the physical world. Nevertheless, as we are relatives - distant in some ways, when we stumble across this a-causal connecting principle we identify with it - are afraid and drawn to it at the same time. Synchronicity is mysterious, mystical, and yet as mundane as falling in and out of love with the same painting on the wall.
2AM, and 25 years ago? There are some people I know who clearly could not say that. To be sober enough in the wee-hours of the morning just wasn't there! When I got the CD, one night I must have played this tune a good dozen times before I headed into the house...uh, yeah, sober.
I was immediately blown away when I heard this masterpiece long ago. I never recovered....
