    This was phenomenal. You certainly need a significant experience to follow this along, but if you can, this is one of the better computer related videos that I have ever watched. Cheers Mr Panek. I needed this video.

    Very nice and easy to understand video. The only thing is, after you created the attribute should you add it to User or Person class? Some instructions out there are telling you to add it to the Person class. Sorry if I've caused any confusion.

      The Person class is information about a user. The User class is normally information about an employee. So it depends on the type of account that you are setting this up for. Is it a field for an Employee or is it a field for a customer?
      Here is a link to Microsoft's website that explains both classes. Hope this helps.

    Awesome video with clear concise instruction. You state this attribute will not be easily seen under the general details. Is there a way to make it easily viewable? Is there a way to make it viewable to other Outlook users preferably without opening up the contact. Thanks

      Melissa Mariano I am sorry to say that there is no real easy way to see the attribute. It gives you the ability to add your own but not easily seen..

    Is it possible to add a class in schema?

    • @WilliamPanek
      @WilliamPanek  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +sundeep a p Yes.... To add a class, its basically the same steps..To add a new schema class or attribute definition
      1) Open the Active Directory Schema snap-in.
      2) In the console tree, click Active Directory Schema.
      3) Then do one of the following:
      To add a class definition, in the console tree, right-click Classes, click Create Class, and then follow the instructions.
      To add an attribute definition, in the console tree, right-click Attributes, click Create Attribute, and then follow the instructions.

    after adding attribute to the user account, how can i view or what is the exact use of adding attribute to that particular user

    • @WilliamPanek
      @WilliamPanek  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Loganathan G The video shows you how to add the attribute into the Active Directory account to be used. To use the attribute all the time, If you go into AD, click on Advanced Features under View (on top). Then the attributes tab is shown from that point on. Then you just fill in the attribute. Its not the easiest way to see an attribute but its an option if you need to add one.
