I was feeling overwhelmed before finding your series and despite it being 10 years old, it still seems 100% relevant to 2023. THANK YOU!
This guy is amazing. Answering soooooo many questions i have, on so many things, and doing it quickly/clearly. I don't know how he is even able to continuously just flow through the entire class without editing or checking notes or something.
Eli, to just describe your efforts in one word. I would say AWESOME. It takes a lot of passion and energy to do such content and explain it so clearly. Kudos man. God bless you.
He is a guiding light to many people who would like to embrace technology, am a Great fan and a follower for many years, really benefited by his lucid teaching style, hats off to him

Well done bro! Great presentation, great charisma, excellent use of words. Ignore the haters who just hate even after they are fed for FREE. In my opinion you are the best teacher I have come across
Now I understand why your videos are so popular. Watched so many videos and no one could explain as simple and as clear as you. So grateful to have you in TH-cam.
these courses are fundamental for understanding modern virtualized architectures, including VMware, HyperV, and their versions now hosted on hyperscalers. So grateful for the existence of this free content.
Brilliant video, big fan, a lot easier to understand than the books itself. Keep up the good work, looking forward to watching the full series, and I will be buying that book soon.
I swear you're a better teacher than my professor back in college. Thank you Eli the Computer Guy. Btw, I'm planning to take MTA Certification 365: Windows Server Administration. I want to have a MTA certificate first before I jump in MCSA.
I have worked on Active directory but trust me I was afraid to mention that in my resume as in the interview interviewer rips of me with questions on AD. I gained confidence now trust me the man I love watching your videos and you have trained me more than any other study materials. Thank you very much.
I am just starting on Active directory Directory services as I have being on Networking for 5 years and Your video is great to learn about the real world on this.
Most of students, professionals or technicians would be always agree that prof. Eli is so great teaching free to everybody being on this ways more easy to listen other professor in colleges.Thank so much Prof. Eli
I have only had two tech tutorials in my life that I would rate and this is one of them. The other - 30 years ago - was how to switch a computer on and use it; delivered by a Microsoft guy! Many thanks for your help today.

First, as Pikachu stated below, AD DS Eli is reffering to, when saying Active Directory Directory Services, is abbrevation for Active Directory Domain Services, not Active Directory Directory services - no such thing exists. (Active Directory exists, Directory Services exist, yet there is nothing that could be called Active Directory Directory Services in one phrase.) Second, AD DS (Active Directory Domain services) is not newer version of AD (Active Directory), but it's more like set of instruments used to manage the AD. And by the way, AD DS is among us since Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. Anyway this is very well built and educational video with high potencial of common users understanding the concept of AD = above said means this comment is no hate, just a correction. Frankly speaking I have been an OU admin for 800 users and over 350 Computer but had no Idea about the AD DS in the way you explained.. hats off to you Eli.
I just started watching your video about Active directory and I am learning about what active directory can do. keep ur hard work Ali computer Guy. Blessings
THIS IS SO USEFUL! thank you, I have a college qualification but i wish to do networking, i was never taught about ADDS sop this'll be useful when i apply for a job, I can tell them i know how all this works and that i'm able to after i practice some.
I can't thank you enough, from one "gifted" teacher to another thank you!!!! The only way you can explain something the way you do is to be an expert at the topic. keep doing the world this service!
chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/video-speed-controller/nffaoalbilbmmfgbnbgppjihopabppdk. use video speed controller for chrome, you can modify any playback speed from 0.1x to 16x by pressing " [ " and " ] " for speed up and speed down.
2012 was only three years ago. And it's what I would expect most enterprises to be running on now. I'm coming back into tech after 15 years, this is so well done, so entertainingly explained, and so thank you!
Hi Eli, this video helped me tremendously to get the big picture Thank you so much. One thing I didn't understand was the difference between Groups and OUs. It seems like they both do the same thing.
No, OUs are not the same as groups; think of an OU as a box that you keep your user / computer in and then groups are like clubs that your user / computer is a member of, your user can be a member of many groups but you can only keep it in one box.
Man in the minute 33:08 a bug invaded your Domain in the white board. Did the bug belong to the OU group to has access to the main White board Domain????.....Apologize Brother...You are really good and I have learning a lot from you....Keep teaching Brother, you really have the skills to teach.
I appreciate your vids. I worked for a major telecom's IT dept for 9 years, so I understand a lot of the concepts. I usually skip through a large portion of the basic info, but I appreciate that you speak in a language all users can understand. Thanks Eli!

I guess it's just a slip of the tongue that got stuck in his memory. It's funny that he emphasizes the correct use of names though...
it boggles my mind that tutorials this good are available free on the internet and yet I am still wasting money on university to take courses from teachers with all this experience but no ability to explain it at all. Thank you Eli for explaining things so clearly.
This is much better than the Microsoft books(EXAM 70-680, EXAM 70-410, EXAM 70-411 and EXAM-412) added together. You just opened my eyes into what Active Directory Directory Service is and I can't thank you enough for that.

Isnt it called active directory domain services?

WELL DONE!
Raul, your instructions is good as well. Hats off to you as well. :)
Thank you, Eli! I was introduced to Active Directory and all this information was just thrown at me, one after another. After watching this though, I understand it so much better. Hey Eli, do you have a video on LDAP? If so let me know so I can watch. Thanks.
Hands down the best tutor on the net. God bless, Eli.
IS it Active Directory Directory Services or Active Directory Domain Services?
+LToledo 2:07
+LToledo its acutally active directory domain services
Wow. This video is very clear and exhaustive. I have been trying to learn about AD basics from past couple of days and my seacrh ends here. Eli is just an amazing instructor with great knoeledge. Actually 2X Speed is even better ;-).
I love the simplicity of how this is all explained! I'm excited to learn more, thank you for a great teaching style and good pacing
Isn't the correct term: "Active Directory Domain Services" instead of "Active Directory Directory Services" ???
What I understood is that Active Directory is called nowadays as "Directory Services", so Active Directory = Directory Services. I hope you understand it.
Also, Active Directory has multiple services underneath it, such as Directory Services for permissions.
Rolando Veliz What's bugging me is that everywhere I look, including Microsoft referenced books and their site, the official name is Active Directory Domain Services, and not Active Directory Directory Services.
What's more, it's really weird repeating the same word in the name. If that was the case, shouldn't the correct term be Active Directory Services?

Glad I'm not the only one ;)
when you said bug, i thought you meant a program error, I was waiting for him to go on a computer then seen a fly like "i wonder if anyone else noticed" lmao
what kind of bug? a fly or Beatle?
I'm no bug expert, but by the rapidity of its initial movement, I'm think it was flying and is therefore a fly.
@Wideband Records, I think it's a fly, because if it's a "beatle" would
be either John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison or the other I
don't remember :P (just a Joke, it's Ringo Starr). Anyway, seems to be a
fly because a beetle would be walking around instead of flying ;)
Awesome. Very easy to understand. Concise. Right pace when you talk, not too fast.
31:15 the bug appears
+Jean-Pierre Holland t actually shows up at 19:40 also
+Jean-Pierre Holland lol
