Hi Eli, this video helped me tremendously to get the big picture Thank you so much. One thing I didn't understand was the difference between Groups and OUs. It seems like they both do the same thing.
No, OUs are not the same as groups; think of an OU as a box that you keep your user / computer in and then groups are like clubs that your user / computer is a member of, your user can be a member of many groups but you can only keep it in one box.

Wow. This video is very clear and exhaustive. I have been trying to learn about AD basics from past couple of days and my seacrh ends here. Eli is just an amazing instructor with great knoeledge. What about OpenLDAP?
JZA Works great for user management but doesn't scale in the same way when you have users in a Windows environment unfortunately. Openldap is great though.
