I also am guilty of watching these over and over while I sharpen...it’s like my favorite thing in the world to sit down and throw up a sharpening video and it feels like family!
I got the hoge deca recently on.your recommendation. Same exact blade shape. love it and great.price too. Would like to know what angle and grit you decide to sharpen it to.
So I always want an aggressive toothy edge so I always stop at 600 and strop with 6 micron Gunny. Is the 6 micron abrasive enough to keep that aggressive toothy edge? Or do I need to switch up to 9 or 12 micron? Also I strop regularly to try to keep the edge as crispy as possible between fullest sharpening. Is the 6 micron aggressive enough for that task? Reason I ask is because I'm not always successful in maintaining the edge by stropping. Maybe some blades need more stropping than others. I know that it's possible to over strop and lose the bite, so I am mindful of that and really try to not over strop. Maybe that's only a danger of losing the bite with smaller micron and I'm over thinking it. Last thing and I'll leave you be. I have achieved some incredibly sharp edges where hair pops off with almost zero effort. However I have never been able to slice paper towel, and I want to achieve that. What's the trick? I know the type of paper towel is probably a large factor. Thanks
Ughhh those tapered plunge grinds drive me insane I hate them especially on Fox and other knives made in Italy they drop the plunge and then taper it to an edge but leave a 1/4in of unsharpened blade I get so frustrated trying to dremel the plunge back further and actually put a bevel on that unsharpened section wich is basically the full blade stock thickness on one side tapered down towards the edge... Absolutely bonkers
You're like a sharpening professor, and sharpening is an art, as well as a science. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
My pleasure! 👊
Very informative. Iv seen this before but it's good every time I see it. 👍💯

I've been having a lot of issues sharpening chisel grind edges. Now I know why. I was doing it wrong.
Diamond file make your own mini choil
I do i have multiple videos showing how to quickly both with diamond files and even better Drexel with carbide cutting bit
With the skills, I can survive years in the woods alone with only a knife. Including no shoes, needing clothes, etc. I've done it.
Who is this? Bruce Willis?

Ultrasharp doesn't make a 2K. They have a 2.2K and a 3K.
IMO they have DMT beat. Lately DMT has been slacking.
Atoma or Ultra is the better choices.
Grow longer chin hair, keep jaw line trimmed closer to face, hell yeah
What the? That is exactly how my face/beard is trimmed lol-ol-ol
