    Really nice watching a man that takes pride in his work giving out his own points that he uses, even if they’re points that have been made before by others, it’s really beautiful too see how and wot ones you actually use. As you get some of the finest edges that make scalpels look blunt! Have a beautiful day and stay safe and healthy brother 👍😘🫵

    How do you align the blade to the clamp? Do you draw a line from the heel of the blade to the tip?

    Curious as to what you think of the TSPROF Allen drivers?
    I've heard they are decent, and also that they aren't worth the price?
    Have to be more convenient than fishing around for the standard small Allen wrench that comes with TSPROF 's?

    Awesome video Sean!!! I’ve heard all these things before in the KME group, but reinforcing them with your videos is so helpful!
    Have you ever considered doing a Q&A video for viewers to ask you questions?

      A follow up: I didn’t mean to belittle your tips or points you made in your video by saying I’ve heard them before. I’ve heard the idea before, but you word them very eloquently and share your own experiences!

      @dannycsaszar5011 all good man no offense taken! I do my best to try and help people understand not only “what to do” but the reasoning behind it because there’s many different ways to achieve the same end result. All you really need to know is how to progress in the right direction towards the desired result.

    So I'm having an issue with a fixed angle k03 pro giving a uniform bevel on both sides of the blade. I have the axicube 2 which is built into the stone holder and I'm within .5 of a degree at the tip on both sides but one side looks like I ground it 3 or 4 degrees more shallow it's confusing me what do you think the issue is?

    • @Zachariahfml
      @Zachariahfml 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure if this is a primary bevel issue from the factory where one side is significantly thicker from the centerline of the spine or not but I'd like to resolve this as I'm starting a sharpening service up

    • @davestelling
      @davestelling 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I've had this same problem with my EDC Delica...first time out sharpening it to the mirror edge with a 3 micron diamond lapping film on my KO-3, one side's bevel is a bit thicker than the other...near the point, or tip. Not exactly sure where, or how this happened other than I suspect that's the way it left the factory?
      I haven't set out to correct this as I'll wait until it needs a whole new session with the TSPROF...

  • @trumanhw
    @trumanhw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It'd be nice ff an attachment provided a LOCK that to restrict lateral travel past the heel or tip.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I place my finger under the tip or heal when necessary to prevent exactly that!

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL

      @@BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL I should've mentioned that (as I did catch that remark) ... I just meant that it would be a cool if an add-on attachment offered such a feature of limits. Thx for the reply.

    That’s an awesome idea, putting your finger on the tip of the blade. I have a wicked edge, and struggle sometimes with not rounding the tip of the knife , thanks for the vid, gonna try that next time!

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man, it’s definitely helpful to me. It’s one of those things that you do to prevent making problems for yourself. You could do just fine without doing it but you’ll roll off that tip when you least expect it so it’s better safe than sorry!

    Respect. Recently, I came across an interesting review of a knife manufacturer (on the manufacturer's unfair practices, i.e. on the problem of tempering the metal. The magnacut scandal posted by. SURVIVE! The topic is interesting because there is a chance that it is due to an aesthetic error, which is probably not compromised by God knows how many products This also raises the question of what happened or what will happen to these blades, will they be resharpened into new models or will they be re-released for sale after some time as they are only repainted or disguised in some other way. Is this a problem only with Magnacut? I don't think so.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL

      It’s hard to say unless people are testing it. I don’t expect great performance from alot of companies out there. I kinda know what I can expect from different manufacturers and Spyderco is always on point, thats why they are my favorite.

    Thanks Sean your comments and tips on technique gave me the confidence to reprofle my Gaurdian 3. With my TSPRof Kadet and Venev stones have sharpened it more than its ever been. But the most important peice of advice that kept coimg back was mark the bevel mark the bevel

    im have a hard time to tell when to flip the blade, under lights, i see the burr, so i flip it, then i keep grinding until i see burr again, then i flip again, but in the end, after deburr with ceramic rod, its still dull as hell, no idea what to do :/

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It takes practice brother, don’t get discouraged! Back when I first started I decided that I was going to keep trying until I figured it out and after a couple days I was making progress. Over the past thousand knives I’ve sharpened Ive continued to make progress and learn and that process is still ongoing. Its not a overnight process bro, there’s no shortcut around putting in the time and work however if you follow the tips from my videos it will make that process much smoother and help avoid making as many mistakes! For me alot of it has just become instinctive but im always assessing the edge visually and by feel the entire time and that feedback helps me determine what to do next. Take your time and just don’t give up! If you keep at it, you’ll continue to make progress!

    So u are working more on the thinker bevel side since they sharpened it to higher angle right?. U did even out both sides bo on the orginaly smaller side the tip id still not sharpie free. What u do? Just keep switching sides since they both same width + a bit more passes on the tip side when the sharpie is still there? Sorry for my english :)
