- Part 2 of our Beginner guide to Golfie MTB.
Part 1 can be found here: • Golfie MTB - A Beginn...
This route contains a fresh collection of trails (bar the chosen warm up track - Repeat offender) that are marked step up in difficulty from the trails ridden in part 1.
You should be comfortable riding those tracks (Stinger, Plan-B, NY-NY, Lower wardell Way, Repeat offender, flat white) before attempting these.
Please note: These are not “beginner trails" for new riders. These trails demand a high level of bike control and riding commitment. They are steep, have loose changeable surfaces and are filled with slippy roots, drops and tight switchback corners.
This full route is again around 18km with 870m climbing which you can amend as you see fit.

Apologies for the shaky camera footage on some of the heavily wooded descents. It was a very misty day and the ;right level in the forest was very low indeed.
We hope you enjoy the edit and please let us know if you have given the previous route a go and are ready to tackle this one!

Great videos. Brilliant overviews and intros to the tracks you visit. Well done.
Ah Thanks Natalie! We appreciate the kind words. Have you ridden the golfie?
Just returned from my first visit, using your original edit as a guide. Logged these for next time so cheers guys, I can't wait👍
Excellent Darren, How did you get on with the route? Hope you had a great time!!
@@MindfulTrailBiker route was tonnes of help. In at the deep end otherwise. Flat White was shut but it's always there for another visit😁👍
Brilliant, glad you enjoyed it, it’s a good intro to the area for sure! 👍
We were up there same day as you by the looks of it (also remember seeing your dog lol) weather and conditions were horrendous!
Ah nice, were you in the big group? great day but yeah, weather was shocking, very dark in the trees! never fails to put a smile on your face though!
@@MindfulTrailBiker not sure if it was "that big group" but I was in a group lol, weirdly the grip was sensational but the roots not so much.
The mud is so sticky, took me ages to wash the bike a few days later 😂 but yeah roots just trying to kill you dead. There was a large group of lads that we chatted with a bit that day, young lad with a speaker in his backpack playing AC/DC.
@@MindfulTrailBiker oh yeah I seen them about but that wasn't us. il wave next time lol
@@Onlydansmtb thanks for watching and commenting, appreciate it!
Were you riding there on the Monday as well as I'm sure I chatted to a couple that looked just like you for a few mins on the fireroad climb. Thought I recognised you from seeing some of your other videos. If not then ignore this comment 😂😂 Good video/guide.
Hi Darren, not us im afraid, we were back home Sunday afternoon. Would have been awesome to meet you though! Thank you for the kind words!! 👍
Thinking about it they didn't have a dog 😂 I went there today for my 2nd visit, followed your route so thanks for sharing it. Definitely a step up to some of the other trails
@@darrenrussell8980 We do leave him in the can sometimes when’s he’s a few rides in to give him a rest!. Awesome, thank you, which was your favourite track?
Probably top of dances with wolves today, excellent trail building! Definitely my limit there, few more runs would help. Lower Wardell Way great fun for a different style of trail
@darrenrussell8980 dances is an absolute gem of a trail. 👍
