Its really strange but I always thought (and still do) that they were a real family. Like I thought the chemistry with all of them was great. I honestly thought it was weird that John Goodman and Roseanne werent married in real life. The chemistry was too amazing. They just all seem to get each other.

Time Machine Needed there are still families like the one roseanne portrayed and there have always been broken families.. We're just more aware of it now since we are grown and know what's going on around us

It was good in the early seasons when Barr was an amazing funny person, Sara had fun and smiled before the turned into a zombie, before they switched daughters every episode. Like jc3 said, first 4 were ok, last 3 seasons just bad plots, and last season really shouldn't have been made it was so bad.

Nothing beats the early seasons. I too lost interest in the later years but now I am rewatching them & giving them a chance. In the beginning it was about them & they were funny. They behaved a lot like my family. The later seasons were just mean puns with smart mouthed kids.
