Haven’t ever thought I’d make a table out of a bed!
I was binge-watching when I spotted such a table in a scene, and then made an improved version on my own.
It was hard work but ended up perfect!
As it turns out, there’s plenty to learn if you watch TV with your elderlies at home.

The table is from an idiom 曲水流觞, a way of drinking in ancient China. It became famous 1,700 years ago when a group of most famous scholars at that time (Jin Dynasty) gathered by a winding creek, drinking and writing poems. This is recorded in the most famous calligraphic work in Chinese history by Wang Xizhi, a witness of the event in a prose 兰亭集序. Those who attend are supposed to be able to make poems impromptu. At the end of the video, the diners try to come up with a poem he/she knows, reflecting the tradition.

The table is a recreation of ancient Winding Stream Party 流觞曲水 from over 1500 years ago. In olden times scholars and poets will gather around a small stream with wine floating down the water. They have to make a poem first before grabbing the wine to drink.

This is mentioned in Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion."(王羲之《兰亭序》)

In this game, people will choose a character(a word), and then they start reciting the a sentence of a poem that contains this word one by one. Like in this video, Ziqi and her family choose “月”, which means “moon” in Chinese. What you hear at the end of the video is Chinese poems.

She is honestly so inspiring, I was never into home decorating or even gardening but watching her make her own oven, made a grape vineyard with watermelon patch , make her own flower wall, do master class Chinese threading and then make her own designs and made clothes from that design. I have soo many ideas for this authentic Chinese art work. I know my mother would love to serve tea on this absolutely stunning. This is the kind of content I like to see your grandmother is very luck to have you. And I do hope this changes how all Asian women are looked at.

Looks like at the end of the video they were playing a tea party game: pick a theme and then each person to recite a poem with that theme in it. Apparently the theme was about MOON. Everyone on the table did it beautifully, except the cute assistant...she accidentally recited a poem about Morning! They all laughed...what a good time they had together! and thanks for sharing with us.

I have been watching her for long now, and I can't find a single thing she can't do. And she does everything by herself. WoW.
Well, while she is capable of doing all those tasks in her videos, her videos are the result of an army of people dedicated to participating in the unseen background planning and finishing each of those tasks in the videos, including the entire construction of her Grandmother's home and her entire compound. She (Liziqi) and her Grandmother reside in a rural area in the southern section of the area north of Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam in either Yunnan or Sichuan. She was sent to live with her Grandmother when she was a child when her parents separated, so, her Grandmother raised her to an adult. Now, Liziqi takes care of her Grandmother. Liziqi's videos made Liziqi a wealthy woman, but she stopped making her videos because the Chinese company involved in making her videos wanted to have complete control of her videos, but Liziqi did not want that, so, she stopped making them due to large legal action. But I've heard she won the legal battle and may make more videos.

her videos have completely changed the way i look at food. there isn't a single restaurant in america that could serve this much variance, complexity, and depth. and make each dish look utterly delicious. the people who get to sit at that table with her whenever she makes stuff are truly truly lucky
like our entire food culture and history is an embarrassment when compared to this. and i say that as someone with a lot of reverence and fondness for american food and food culture

What a satisfying life, the modern world can't match with these peaceful and happy moments. ❤
It used to be that princesses and princes lived this idyllic life. Royalty and nobility. But they didn't lift a finger to make that life. They just were born into it and expected it. What this channel does is to show all the hard work it took to make that idyllic life. Liziqi made this life for herself with her grandparents. She built upon their efforts. You don't have a garden that looks like that instantly. No landscaper can make it overnight. It comes through love and devotion over many many years. I saw some other TH-camr refer to Liziqi as perpetuating some fantasy. What I see when I view her videos is a person dedicated to making their surroundings and their life beautiful and rewarding through effort, imagination and ability. What drives that, I don't know. I just clap for her. She deserves a standing ovation.

it's because she did not personally created this channel. at first it has been created by her fans due to the fact that many bloggers used her videos posted on her Weibo's channel (China's biggest social media platform) and pretended to be her. she did fight for the copyrights I guess but acknowledged this channel only. I think that her fans had really good intentions and wanted the world to see all her great works and the other side of China. and by creating this channel, they've succeeded.. and since then, I'm one fan too ❤️

How in the world is one - a Chef, a Gardener, a Seamstress, a Designer, an Editor, a Caretaker, a Carpenter?!! She is absolutely BEYOND BRILLIANT. I am in AWE by her and I realize the way she lives is Exactly how we are ALL Supposed to.
There is a separate filming and editing crew for that , similar to how there is a separate makeup crew... She doesn't edit her videos , and neither does she films them...These are cinematic cameras , can't be bought , only rented... and cost around $1.8 million/year (for the cheapest one) just for maintenance (not including memory and editing cost)... I suppose her Filming company pays for all that... If a professional filming/editing company is involved , there is a very high chance that she's an actor or just a Multi-millionaire farmer with strong connections among the Chinese Filming Industry...

she did say in her interview that every time she did something new, she went to the best teacher to learn for months, and she did say this is not daily life, it is art.
so what if she has a team or big company behind her, the original idea was hers, less than 10 seconds each screen. her noodle video was done when she only had thousands of viewers in China, not on youtube yet.
I think she can do everything, nothing is impossible for her.her video give me energy to work.
So I read an article about her, her parents divorced when she was very young, then she went to live with her grandparents in the rural area. When she grow up, she tried various job at the city.. once upon a time, she got a call that her grandma was sick so she left everything and cameback to hometown to take care of her nana. She was inspired by her brother who uploads singing videos on Meipai (Chinese social media) and thinking that she could do one of that too. Over the years through trials and errors she was able to build her channel.
After learning this about her, I was really impressed. All i can say is, she is truly a hard working person and never leaves her family. We all should be inspired!!

I think it’s so ironic how she makes these videos to relive our stress but she’s puts an unfathomable amount of effort into them. I do not know one video by her that took less than one or two weeks to film and edit. It’s so much work for a video that’s 11-20 minutes long and could have potentially been in the works for 1 year or two. I appreciate you so much Li ziqi.
