- I was asked how I come up with my decorating ideas. There are so many ways I'm influenced, but today I am sharing a Christmas tree I decorate with herbs from our garden and I explain how the idea came about. Following that is a tutorial on how I make paper stars to decorate trees, mantels, and so much more. #Christmastreewithherbs #decoratingwithherbs #newenglandhome #classicchristmas #traditionalhome #newenglandhome #foldedpaperstars

Love the soft colors of the decorations you made for the butlers pantry. Your use of all the dried herbs and flowers is so beautiful. The star tutorial was well done and you explained every step of the project. Thank you for sharing this video.
When this video opened with you holding the dried sage, my first thought was "That matches Linda's wallpaper!"
Cute stars. Your energy and patience is boundless. I feel accomplished when I get the laundry washed and folded! 😂 Sugarwood is such a great, “Christmas House”. Everything in New England has that lovely Christmas feel to it. We are pondering living half the year in your neck of the woods, (hubby is from NH) and the other half where we are in NC. Maybe that’s too complicated. So pretty there. You are a good NH ambassador, Linda!
I love the butler's pantry and I love the color of the wallpaper and paint and everything else about it !!
The pantry must smell wonderful with all those herbs as decorations! 🌿
I found this whole video to be so enjoyable, and inspiring, as usual, Linda.🎄🏡❤️💚
Im so glad!
Thanks for showing how you made the star. I have some sheet music that I want to age then make the stars to put on my tree. I’m also going to make some Christmas trees too. I finally found some brass vintage horns I’m also adding. I’m hoping it all turns out!❤
I’m sure it will be beautiful!
My favorite is the little herb tree, great idea for next year. Thank you ,Linda. A big hug to Willow
We called that game Cootie Catcher! lol. OMG, memories. I LOVE your Herb tree.....great idea!
Such lovely and comforting decor. Thank you for the creams, greens and bling - plus the dash of a favorite color. Each room a delight to revisit!
Thanks for another great idea 🌿🍃
So fun to make ornaments and the herb tree is so sweet. I'm enjoying the things you bring us always. Thank you ❤
I watched another YT channel where the lady glued two of the folded stars together to make a three dimensional star (rather than one flat side). I like them both. Yours look great!
Ah yes! I had that in the video I did first and did not put that in this one. But I do love that idea! Thank you for sharing!
Love the idea of using herbs to decorate the tree. Never ever would have thought of that
Loved the stars and the little tree is so cute 🎄☺️.
Linda such a wonderful TOB idea - love the lavender addition to the Butler Pantry tree!🎄
Thankyou for the easiest star making tutorial. Am going to get onto making some right away
Have fun!
Love your ideas for the pantry tree. The serendipity lavender touches are perfect. I never feel crafty before Christmas... always in January and February. I'm gathering ideas. Thanks for sharing the stars. Sugarwood looks to be ready for the holiday.
I'm so enjoying your holiday videos and crafting! Thank you!!
I love this craft

Your snowflake pillow is beautiful

I just love the wallpaper in the Butler's Pantry!! And that fluffy lavender garland on the tree is so different. Just love it!!

Hello Linda a wonderful idea the star 🌟. I need gold paper. It reminds me of the gold stars my grandmother had on her tree. I had forgotten about them. Thank you for bringing that memory back. My grandmother passed away Dec of 2009 same year my dog passed away on Christmas Day. A lovely project, plan on doing for next Christmas 🎄
Hi Linda. The folded paper game that you mentioned is called a fortune teller. 😊
What a great way to make stars. How clever! They look wonderful. They would be a terrific sale item a craft show. I would purchase a few! Such patience to create them! Love ‘em!
Thank you so much!
How fun was this!!!!!
Thank you!
I think that the colors of the dried herbs would look lovely against a white tree
Good morning. You're decorations are lovely.
This was a great vjdeo! I loved the sweet herbal tree and really appreciate you showing us how to make those lovely stars! Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
LOVE❤
I always marvel at your patience Linda. What a neat project. I love the star on that cute little tree. Enjoying all your posts
On Christmas decor 🌟
Thanks so much 😊
Fortune teller, that’s what the little thing you put on you hand and counted them! Great project !
Darn! I made one and was going to put it at the end of the video. It came back to me with each fold without problem LOL
I knew them as "cootie catchers!"
Linda, thank you for another fun video. Your creativity and talents never cease to amaze me. Decorating a tree with herbs is innovative; what a great idea for a butler's pantry or kitchen. Your stars are amazing. You are a great teacher. Looking forward to your next video. You never disappoint. God bless, Robert.
I love this project! Easy, beautiful, and cost conscious. We use all our homemade goodies in our decor. The butler's pantry is so inviting, I bet it is enjoyable to grab a cup of coffee and linger in there. I just love everything you've done there!
I haven't seen the wreath on sugar shack. They have battery-operated lights that you turn on once, and they turn on and off all year, so no cords or fuss.
I realized the other day I forgot to put the wreath up.
You are so creative ❤️💚
Beautiful...I got to try these!!!
I just love your channel.... that is all I have to say!...that folded paper game you were talking about 10:26 is called a Cootie Catcher!
I haven’t thought about that paper folding game we played as kids, in forever! I couldn’t remember what we called it either, so I googled it lol It was called cootie catcher 😂
Rings a bell now!
Brilliant.
Hi Linda! The star is lovely! The child's game was called a cootie whacker. 😁
Boy, that brings back memories. Cootie whacker. I made many of those paper puzzle things.
@@judyguyer8107 Hi Judy! Sweet childhood memories! 😻
Hi Linda, I remember that game too , a kindred spirit moment !! The stars ornaments are really pretty !! What is the paint colors you used in the pantry ?? Have a joyful weekend ! Paula~~ Indiana

@@newenglandfineliving Thank you so much !!
Using real foliage on your Christmas tree & the wool garland is a brilliant idea & the colours are lovely, the homemade star as the finishing touch is great..🎄🎄
Thanks so much 😊
The pantry must smell heavenly!
Love 💕 the stars , so festive looking, they can be tucked in anywhere. May I ask where you found the paper to make the stars with?
I found the paper at Michael’s craft store
🤩🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
LOL. Don’t know why I thought of the name of your game you were trying to remember, Linda but it was called Cootie Catcher game. 😉
Love the tree in the Butler's pantry! The scent of the herbs must be wonderful.
I'm trying to find electric candle lights. Would you mind letting me know where you purchased yours?
I'm having a difficult time finding them. All I can find are the battery-operater ones. Cheers!
I used a strand of 150 from a box 300 lights total. (Two strands)
Michaels craft store (on sale now too).😀🎄
Thanks!
What is the utensil that you used to score the star?
It’s called a bone folder.
Maybe use a box cutter or razor to trim
