Good for Ben getting the log splitter. It will save money and hard work. It looks like a fun piece of machinery. So cute that Willow takes toys outside. 💕 Everything inside and out is lovely. The wicker is so special. Can't wait to see the fabrics used and the new windows!
Found your channel a couple weeks ago. I have been catching up watching past shows while on the treadmill prior to work. Typically I can become bored on the treadmill but your episodes make the time fly by!!! I haven't been to the New England states sinces I was a very little girl (about 50 years ago) so I am enjoying the beauty of the homes and sites you have been sharing. Thank you!!! ❤
A gardener I have followed online for around 7 years in the last two years has begun using cardboard layered on the soil with mulch covering it as a weed suppressor. It has worked for her (them) and she has expanded it’s use over their large property.
Oh so loved this video! Things are looking so accomplished and finished. I love that feeling! Going to love the archway you’re creating-I want to do that. You’re such an inspiration for making a beautiful life on the property. I love doing and being outside also. The music is so relaxing on this one also. Thank you so much for taking us through this wonderland you’re creating.❤
Hi Linda, I loved your intro, very-very nice. 👌 You’ve been busy. Your wall is looking amazing, you are so talented. The garden 🪴 is gorgeous, wow, what a great video, thx for inspiring us every week. Happy Memorial Day weekend! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Thank you for this wonderful jam packed vlog! One of my simple pleasures of the week! I get a coffee, and watch. I watch again later in the week as well. 😍
Thank you for the lettuce tip, I didn't know that, and this afternoon, I stayed away from the crown! I'm so happy you decided to use the strapping instead of the wallpaper for the bottom half of the wall. It really shows off the Tally-ho but gives the formality of wanescotting for the tavern. We love how everything is just looking so magical! I hope you are enjoying (mostly) every moment at Sugarwood. You and Ben are wonderful Stewart's, and both of you are making your marks in the legacy of every property.
Love being outside in your gardens, they keep getting better and better. I hope you will show those wicker chairs in the garden room. Thanks for the video.
Everything is so beautiful! I learned from a TH-camr that when making hummingbird food to heat one cup sugar with only one cup of the water then add the other three cups of cold water from the fridge……instantly cooled hummingbird food. I now do it this way every year. I love your channel. 🌺🌸🌹🪴🌿
AGAIN, Ive said it before and ill say it again...your house and gardens are so warm and inviting. I absolutely am in awe! i loved the arboretum tour. it was lovely!
I have a wicker chair almost identical to yours, but smaller, newer and not a rocker. Perfect for my very small bedroom. My little bit of research shows me this style has been made at least since the early 1930s. Mine also needs refurbishing. Thank you for showing me how! Your rockers look beautiful!
Hi Linda, the house and gardens are looking great. Wall paper for board and batten. I love both. I’m proud of you for making the change. Do what makes You happy!!❤
Linda, would you kindly edit a nice long video starring Willow? My miniature is crushing on her bad. Whenever Papi hears your voice he comes running hopeful to get a glimpse of Willow. Maybe a video of Willow enjoying your homes, the grounds, walks, playtime, etc. It would be much appreciated. ❤
Oh my gorgeous... I feel like my soul should be there in the New England area. My ancestors were there from what I understand. My family are "Saylor ". I had actually noticed a book in your library with that name.
We have an old electric log splitter that I love. It's not large, but does really big logs. We've only 3 acres, but being on the sea we get plenty of wind and we can't keep up with the amount of fallen trees we get in the woodland or along the shore. It's fun to use, isn't it! Your Grandparents wicker is gorgeous!
Sugarwood happier with the faux wood wallpaper removal…😂 Thank you for sharing work and play in your week with us…you seem to keep a nice balance…it helps to see that. Enjoyed !
I’m glad that I’m not the only one whom loves to make hummingbird nectar. My next is a birdbath. Love the wicker chairs. I could see you enjoying a cup of tea in those amazing wicker chairs. Thanks for the inspiration.
We have that same splitter for almost one year now. It is amazing!! We also had downed trees. The log splitter made quick work of all of it. I completely recommend this splitter to anyone in the market for one. We have not had one problem with it.
I also loved the Schumacher video of the house in Williamsburg. It was a fantastic video. I had no idea that some of those houses were actually lived in full time.
Oh, be still my heart! I got a glimpse of Good Queen Bess! I adore her so much and the fabrics you are doing on the benches will be so perfect! I also love blue and violet flowers. That is what I am planting this year. I am not crazy about purple in a house, but I love God's beautiful purple. We lost so many plants in December and January. Gardens can be tricky.....beautiful and a pain, too. Linda, I so enjoy your videos and you are such a busy bee with perfect taste in your garden and your home. Send some of your energy my way, please, and kiss Willow for me. Also, thank you for taking us on your trips here and there. It gives me ideas for traveling and viewing beautiful New England!
I picked a bouquet of lily of the valley, yesterday at our cabin. My favorite flower!! And, I have a Redbud in my yard (eastern) and I found out you can make jelly from the blossoms. I made some and it is delicious!
I have wooden benches that need painting. Bob already stripped a little with a heat gun. Maybe tomorrow I will do it in the morning. Your garden is pretty!
Just loved this video. The wicker chairs looked so good. The wood splitter was a wise purchase. Glad to see you adding in leisure time along with all the work you do. The wall is going go to look amazing and can’t wait to see the new windows. 😊
Thanks for showing the Acton and the arboretum. I so miss New England springtime and the architecture of the old towns. Happily, I’m headed to Yarmouth, ME in a few days so I can get my fix of lovely little towns, great seafood and a walk in the woods of Maine and restore my balance.
I fix my old wicker with a piece of rubber-coated clothesline that I cut to fit, or to wrap around ...then I wrap it in craft raffia that comes in bundles twisted tightly like wicker. I super glue it, paint it...looks great. Another idea would buy a thrifted cheap wicker style basket, cut piece you need and super glue it to fix hole area. You could paint it before gluing it.
I love your content … I got a little envious of your day fabric shopping. I remember when I had a project going and spending the day in the car going from shop to shop to find just the right one. Devine. Now I don’t have a licence and my world is so small. I have to watch people like you to enjoy what my life used to be. Thank you I enjoy all your work in the house or the garden. Best wishes from Sydney, Australia ☺️🇦🇺🙏🏼🍷🐨
Love your home and gardens. Would love to sit and admire our gardens and soak in the beauty of your flowers. How.lucky are you two to have Ben's grandparents wicker chairs. Perfect choice of colors for your gardens. It must be pure joy to wake up each morning at Sugarwood! So enchanting!❤
I loved you comment about baby birds. I have a large bush has died in the very front of my home which has died. But it will be ugly until fall. I have a nest of roadrunners. And the babies are too sweet to disturb!
I do love watching your videos makes me homesick for New England but also gives me ideas for here in the south and my garden . Thank you. Good to see your garden after your fire, everything is looking so refreshed. Your big ideas and views of Surgarwood are coming to light. Thank you for always taking us along. Love hearing why you are doing something. It does help. Have a good Memorial Day and i look forward to the next visit to Surgarwood. Be well and safe.
The gardens have changed so much, in the best way. You know how to create beautiful homes. The birdbaths that are tulip shaped make the best water fountains. I do not use the pedestal. The bowl has a flat bottom and can easily be placed on a wall or table. ❤
Linda, I love your home, gardens, woods and surrounding quaint places… all that you do is amazing! Sugarwood is Enchanting! Thank for the beautiful videos you posts.… ❤ 🪴 🌿 🌸
Love those wicker chairs I had a set but sold them when i moved , why, not sure They came out beautiful Your gardens look so beautiful Very hard work Your home is beautiful Is there anything you cant do lol Beauty and brains Love the material you oicked out in fact i love them all Looking forward to your next veido
I bought a solar fountain like that last summer. It was nice while it lasted. The birds did enjoy it. It stopped working after a few months. I probably will buy another one. 😊
Appreciate your efforts. I live in SoCal and we have nothing like this in my area. I get the feeling I'd love living there but so not use to all that seasonal snow although it is very beautiful!
Linda, I enjoyed spending this week with you. I find your posts very relaxing, perhaps because u r doing all the work. Your home and gardens are beautiful and inspiring.
Your channel is lovely. This will be my new go to!! Tip for the hummingbird nectar - you don’t have to boil water, just get your tap water really hot and add to your sugar, and stir til clear. I make a gallon at a time and store the extra in the fridge.🌻🌻🌻
I work in Colonial Williamsburg…I have a feeling the house that you watched the video about may have been the Nelson-Galt House…it is one of my favorite houses in the historic town!
Your gardens are amazing. I found while starting to plan flower beds, and vegetable gardens, that my whole property is nothing but two inches of soil, on top of rocks the size of my head! No top soil and no hope of EVER having anything planted in the ground. I am beyond devastated. Everything has to go in raised beds and pots. I can not even have a simple hydrangea, or spring bulbs. So next spring I’m going to turn the front yard into a stone courtyard with hug pots for my bushes, and the back into raised beds and gravel. Than as soon as I can I’m going to move.
Beautiful gardens! I have a little solar fountain like that...3 years and it's still working. Love the fabric choice for you benches...and the wicker chairs, I'm obsessed with them!!! Love the history of 3 generations having had those.
I once planted Ragosa Rose at our old cottage on the boundary to the forest at the side, I thought the heavily spiked roses would deter the deer, how wrong was I ! the good thing was I NEVER had to prune them
Personally I love light and would never close off or reduce the size of a window. The window you are replaceinglast appears to have waves glass. Sometimes people pay extra for waves glass. I ❤ your choses and decorating . Fun to watch.!
What a wonderful week you’ve had! Just put out my hummingbird feeders today, waiting patiently for them to return. Thanks, once again, for sharing. I enjoyed it all.
I enjoy every video you make, the cinema photography is exceptional and you must have had some instruction because it is lovely. I did not make a comment about the wallpaper you were going to use, but I am so glad you abandoned the idea. From the first time I saw the board and bat in your former home, I was impressed and loved the look. I know this will be the same high quality and show off your work in that unique multipurpose room to its best advantage. So glad you didn't use the paper, you won't regret it. Your gardens are exploding with beauty and you certainly have the green thumb touch! Are you a Master Gardner? Looking forward to your next offering next week.
You are amazing with color and textures. Beautiful ❤
Linda you are a jack of all trades and a master of some, you are so talented!!!!!!!!
You have worked so hard on your gardens and house and it is really paying off! Beautiful!
Love how you bring us along for so many side trips and loving how Willow gets to come along.
Good for Ben getting the log splitter. It will save money and hard work. It looks like a fun piece of machinery. So cute that Willow takes toys outside. 💕 Everything inside and out is lovely. The wicker is so special. Can't wait to see the fabrics used and the new windows!

Thank you for taking us with you on your adventures!

I'm so happy you decided to use the strapping instead of the wallpaper for the bottom half of the wall. It really shows off the Tally-ho but gives the formality of wanescotting for the tavern.

Always so happy to spend the day with you. Your flower beds are beautiful.
So nice to see your week and all the progress being made at your Sugarwood. Enjoyed the change in your Tavern, you were so right! ❤ from Georgia!

The quality of your videos are superb. A wide variety of interesting topics.💜
Love what you decided to do with the walls. Will look stunning and authentic when painted!
I don’t know how you can get all of this work done. And it is all such a beautiful garden.
I’m very glad someone spoke up about that wallpaper. I love the other treatment by far the best for Sugarwood!
I can't believe all that you have accomplished. Your home and garden are beautiful!
Your gardens are very pretty and your home is beautiful! Xo
Love the black on the wicker, love the lattice idea also. Your yard is heaven, thx for sharing. It is so lovely to watch your creativity.

You are so thoughtful, I love how you explain everything. Btw, a string of clear lights on wood arch would look lovely.
I have some tiny solar ones I might try. Not sure how long they are though. I bought them last year and need to find them lol
I also loved the Schumacher video of the house in Williamsburg. It was a fantastic video. I had no idea that some of those houses were actually lived in full time.

Thank you for sharing your lovely home. That’s so kind of you to think of the bird family near the window, I would do the same!

Hi Linda, everything looks great love your beautiful gardens, thank you for sharing have a great rest of the day.
I really enjoyed watching this film. It's lovely to see the progress you are making in your home and garden, it encourages me to get on with mine.

Yes! That’s it!
I ❤ the instruction on how to harvest lettuce! I will always remember to leave the crown! 👑 😊
I'm so glad you found it helpful!

I love your videos I get so much peace and relaxation , I can’t wait till your post more, you got me working on my new garden thank you❤️
Beautiful gardens! I have a little solar fountain like that...3 years and it's still working.
Love the fabric choice for you benches...and the wicker chairs, I'm obsessed with them!!! Love the history of 3 generations having had those.
I once planted Ragosa Rose at our old cottage on the boundary to the forest at the side, I thought the heavily spiked roses would deter the deer, how wrong was I ! the good thing was I NEVER had to prune them
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣"Off With Their Heads". You are amazing. The Board and Batten wall is going to look fantastic. Only the best for such an old deserving home.
Linda, don't plant yo u r wisteria close to your home . Very invasive. Love your videos. God bless. From the bootheel of Missouri
Delphinium is my ❤ favorite 😍
Personally I love light and would never close off or reduce the size of a window. The window you are replaceinglast appears to have waves glass. Sometimes people pay extra for waves glass. I ❤ your choses and decorating . Fun to watch.!
You threw the shoes and then whoops ,another pair..........made me laugh, so natural. Can’t wait to see more.
I did cut out my cursing at it because one shoe fell out of a chair on the second toss lol
Hi thank you so much. No training with the filming, just lots and lots of experience in learning and not a master gardener. Just a Master learner! 😁
