My first summer job in OC was the summer of 1994. I worked at the Days Inn next to the convention center. We let high school seniors stay. But the biggest headache for us was the Fireman's convention people. What fireman pulls the alarm to see how fast the fire dept can get there? I saw some crazy shit that summer.
I think I came down to OC Senior week for 10-15 years in the 80s and 90s. I guess I didn't want to grow up. LOL. Definitely different times back then, you could drink beer and wine at the age of 18.
I'm not hard on the youngins. But, I do want to say, that I was pulled over drinking & driving in Ocean City, Maryland, and I had already moved to a different state. So, I had to make arrangements to get there (license suspended), pay a lot of money, alcohol anonymous was in the cards (for a year, twice a week, who needs that unless you need that) and remember you're put on the top of the court's docket, so all those seniors and under age drinkers who were there for just an open container of beer in public will see the book thrown. There's buses, Ubers, walk, pass out on the beach till someone says something, lawyer costs thousands (2x a week at Alcohol Anonymous), fines, just do something different than drive like I did. Have a great time; no need to trash anything, including the car. Be good.
It was 1982 for me too
A riveting video. 😅

Yes. The law changed on July 1, 1982 and I remember it well because I was born in September.
