    thanks for the video. i wasnt sure if i wanted to buy used because of surface rust, but those came out great. your videos are really helpful for someone like myself muddling through a build for the first time with no prior experience.

      Hey man, thanks for the great comment! I'm glad my videos are helpful! Just make sure the pipes you buy aren't too far gone or pitted really badly or they may not come out as good.

    Great channel man, lots of helpful advice. I'm also restoring a Banshee with rusty pipes so this pointed me in the right direction. Let's see the Corvette next!

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, thank you so much for the comment! There will be videos of the corvette! Is that a Mach 1 in your picture?

    You should invest in a pair of soft jaws for your vice. They’re cheap and have magnets that stick right on to the vice.

      Hey dude! There's another guy on here with a channel called south texas banshee. He has really in depth videos that will help you with your pipes; plus all of his videos are great and informative.
      Here is his pipe polishing video, this should help more than just spelling out what to do!

    Hey what brand of paint did you use for the exhaust silencer pipes?

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I forget, but I usually use rustoleum engine block paint when I paint anything that's going to be hot.

  • @yamahaguy1732
    @yamahaguy1732 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wouldn’t the paint burn off tho like paint on new headers for cars

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's high temp paint that is made for this but it will eventually wear off, yes.

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man, thank you so much for the compliment! All my buffing compounds are from my grandpops garage; I couldn't tell you where to get those ones, but if you search for "green buffing compound," you should be able to find something similar that they make today. Good luck with your pipes!

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm going to see if I can find that out; pretty sure it came from my grandpops basement and I can't seem to find one like it.

    • @nickmitchell2961
      @nickmitchell2961 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Sabo did you ever find out about that wire wheel? You could send a picture of the markings on it and that would help

    dont u have to dip the packing in oil?

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is something I've never heard. Usually you replace the packing because it is old, dried out or burnt up/saturated in oil, especially if it's 2 stroke. I'm almost certain it goes in dry.

    • @markbgatov153
      @markbgatov153 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh ok thanks was just wondering cause some pppl put oil on the packing

    What aré those things you put into the silencer?

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The inserts? FMF silencers have these metal plates that go right behind the tips if that's what you mean?

    • @jorgeplascencia5892
      @jorgeplascencia5892 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Sabo i mean the things you put inside the silencers

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's not much to them; it's the midpipe wrapped with muffler packing and then the insert at the end with muffler tip.

    • @jorgeplascencia5892
      @jorgeplascencia5892 7 ปีที่แล้ว
