I heard this great story from a university professor of mine once. Apparently, when he was still a student and he was attending international student conferences, one of the first motions of every committee action was put forth by the French delegation, and it was to make the official language of the proceedings French. This was, of course, roundly defeated every time, but still, a hilarious anecdote.
As a non-native English speaker, I wish there's a place where everyone speak English with French accent, calm, soft and mesmerising.
