When I was 13, I founda 3yr old child walking down the street in her nightgown, holding a puppy. She was looking for ger uncle. This was 6am and I was delivering papers. She had almost made it to a major street (40mph). There would have been no way a car could have stopped in time. I brought her and the dog back to my house and called the police. That was the last I heard until 3 mos later when I saw the kid again at her home (a mutual friend unknowingly brought us into contact). I told the mother that I was the one who rescued the baby and she yelled that she had been arrested for the girl getting out. Didn't phase me~~I told her I didn't care. It was her kid's SAFETY that mattered. She never flapped her lip at me again.

I would have called CPS and the husband the very first time that Abigail dumped her child and left. This story theme really angers me as neighbor leaving her kids at another neighbor's door happened when I was a child. The neighbor wasn't home, and the kids disappeared. A few years later my family moved but I remember that the kids were still missing. How stupid can some people be!!!!

There are far too many of these "Ding and Ditch Kids" stories. Other crazy, irresponsible 'parents'~~and I use that term VERY LOOSELY~~will get the idea to do this vile act. There's a point where the argument of, "We're just warning the public," becomes ridiculous and blatantly false!😡👎👎👎

cause a child is involved and dont want to cause trouble or ruin the child's live. CPS doesn't have the best reputation. either they call and don't do anything. or they get wrapped up in the drama, or assume the worse will happen to the child while in CSP custody.

She left a 1yro on a doorsteps!.... the only person you should've been calling was the POLICE who would then contact CPS... NOT Abigail!. watching the baby for even a second makes you an enabling accomplice. You are not helping the child by watching her and just handing her back to the same neglectful shytty parent. Abigail obviously have no interest in being a parent. She doesn't love or care for ava. She wants to be able to do whatever she wants without a care in the world. She's not a mother. She's a danger to that child. You'll be helping the baby by getting her away from Abigail. You are not helping her by watching her. You're just enabling bad parenting. It's NOT your responsibility to take care of her daughter. It's HERS.

I have unfortunately found a child in my yard. Luckily I didn't know the parent because I may have gone to jail that day for assault. He was 2 maybe 3 and lived with the idiot 3 doors down. I called the cops and told them once they said where he belonged BECAUSE THIS WASN'T THE FIRST TIME HE WAS FOUND WONDERING AROUND - THEY KNEW AT A GLANCE WHO HE WAS that if the mother ever noticed him missing and called the cops they should just come knock on my door. If I ever found him again I'm keeping him. I'll just assume I have a son till someone asked for him. The kid wasn't even dressed! Literally, his little wee-wee was getting all kinds of air! I lived in Indiana at the time. Luckily it was fall not winter. I found him near the very deep pond in my side yard. All kinds of things could have happened to him!

Unfortunately, I do not. My daughter just turned 19 so he's grown now. I was so scared for the boy that for the rest of the time I lived in that neighborhood I would eyeball his house and do a round of my whole yard every time I left and came back just to make sure he wasn't out and about. That was a huge corner lot so I was really LOOKING for the kid. Cops promised to let me know if he was ever taken. I told them point blank I'd keep him out of the system. He was about the same size as my daughter. It would have worked out fine. When I brought him in the house and he saw her little bike his whole face lit up. Granted, I didn't really want bare booty all over the seat but... Thats what bleach is for, right. His little face sitting on her bike made me wonder what, if anything, he had at home to play with. I really would have kept him.
Not everyone deserves to be a parent. 😔

okay really glad that they didn't just put things off till the last minute like some of these stories. after the first time already contacted the husband and had a plan to keep the child safe and use all the other times to have a paper trail. but I just don't get people like the egg donor here. no word or reason the just leave their kid with some one else.
one Ep?NFH story that I recall is op and her family move into new house. the neighbor with a but load of kid comes over and starts chatting usal small talk like how are you where you from and such. op mention she works at a daycare . the EP asks about it and op does a little sales pitch before leaving to get more un packing done. next day op goes off to work very early in the morning spends a day at work then comes home to find her front yard ruin (grass/flower pulled up. holes and difits all over the place) the Ep kids running around and the EP standing on her door step with the cops. Seems EP left her lot of kids ( I forget the number but more then 4 and ranging from toddler to late grade school) in front of Op house and just left them their. kids spend the better part of the day trying to get in and failing so decided to basically play in the yard. police where called cause of how destructive the kids were being. EP as basically yelling at the police and op that Op was suppose to watch them. she left them here in her care cause that's her job. op clearlified that she is a daycare worker and works at a daycare. she did not promise or agree to watch any one kids and her home was a daycare. Cops even called the daycare boss to confirm op story. EP couldn't prove that they had any form of agreement or that she hired op be. regardless EP still declared that it op fault and that now she has to watch her kids for leaving them all alone all day. Op refused and the cops had to drag EP away.
Seem that EP was known around the neighbor hood for doing this type of shit. it got so bad that her kids where being ostrocid cause any time the kid were invited to a party or play date, or just hanging out with friends EP would use that to dump her whole lot of kids with that group, parent, or place. like kid invites one friend over only to find the whole family busting through their door and their staying for supper.

Call 911, inform them that there is an abandoned child on your doorstep, & that CPS needs to come pick them up. If the weather is horrible, inform the 911 operator that you are bringing the child inside to the living room and that you are happy to stay on the line with them for evidence that you are merely rescuing, not kidnapping, the child...because there *are* some "parents" who will whiplash & claim that you've kidnapped the child *they* dumped on you.

Scared the life out of me when they called. That was 20 years ago...back when neighborhoods looked after each other's kids during mishaps without calling CPS. Hell I was alone all day every day during the summers from age 8-18 it was the 80/90s, parents had to work and there was no such thing as daycare or latch key stuff. If I was bored I'd go across the street and play checkers with an elderly (80 yo) woman.

And sadly, this happens more often then people think. Disgusting, immature females who use innocent children who try, and baby-trap innocent men.
NEVER take on the illegal responsibility of a bad mother who does this, as then you become culpable and arrested for interfering with a legal investigation.

I guess Abigail doesn’t have parents or grandparents to babysit the baby

Abigail did have a mother-in-law that would have babysat. However, she would have gotten caught playing her affair games a lot sooner.

I am not a mom, by choice.
Still, in no way in hell I'd ever just leave my kid at someones house without full concent.
How could a loving, caring mom just leave a kid like that. I know she was cheating but make sure the kids safe. Cps would have been called the first time.
It is sickening how some people treat kids.
