📣Have you heard the news? We're hosting our very first Camp Local Rally from November 2-5th, and we'd love to Wanderlocal with you in person! As you know, it's good for the soul. 🎟 Get your tickets here! Hurry, they'll go fast. rallyhero.com/products/camplocal-talona-ridge ❤ Lauren + Daniel + Dash
As a medical professional, I totally agree with you. Daniel should not have been driving. Allergy reactions don't wear watches. Enjoy the van! Can't wait to see your first adventure in it.
That’s a great point about liquid Benadryl. I have a daughter who had asthma and a bee sting allergy, and it was years before anyone told me to use the liquid. Harder to carry around, but much faster acting. The daughter grew up and seems to have outgrown the allergy, but I still carry around a tiny bottle of liquid Benadryl.
Good Evening Traveling Family, I am Sorry to hear about Your Food Allergies and Glad You got some Medicine. Take care of Your Health Daniel because Lauren and Dash needs You. Good Luck getting Your New Van pack and Be Safe. Blessings From Pennsylvania,USA 🙏❤️🥰😇
Oh Daniel, I have the same issue with almonds. Nearly died after eating a chicken salad with almonds. You need to keep a epipen on hand. Saved my life twice!!
I gotta ask. . are you gonna get the van wrapped with cool graphics? I am sure we will see that in the future! I am glad Daniel didn't have a horrible reaction! Might want to keep an epi-pen handy just in case! As for allergies. . . I am allergic to most mosquito bites. . . they swell up like huge welts, and if I get to many it makes me feel sick and super tired! So I try my best to stay bug free as often as I can! But it's not anything like an anaphylactic shock! LOVE that you got to drive the van! Jamie refused to let me drive our RV when we got it, until he put a bunch of parts on it, to help it drive "better" and then last November on the way home from a trip, he wasn't feeling great. . and he had no choice but to let me drive! I was so excited, and I did it! But WOW, driving an RV is so different then hauling a trailer!
Great question! We're probably not going to wrap the van to start. The incognito look is kind of a safer bet - especially, since we'll be parking off grid on occasion. And, kudos on being able to drive the RV! You are 100% right, it's so much different than hauling a trailer! We like it so far. There's something comforting about knowing you don't have to look out of your side mirror and worry about seeing the tail wagging behind you! 🤣
Daniel can correct me if I'm wrong. But I think you can use the engine and alternators in that van to charge your batteries and combine with the inverter to use as a generator. This will help if you come across another big power outage like Texas in 2021. Do any of the Airstream motorhomes have an Alde System and do they connect to the engine to use engine heat?
You are 100% correct! And, our Classic towable has an Alde system. This one has a Timberline system that utilizes the vans diesel fuel tank to power the system. There's no propane or a generator on this van. We've had it for over a week now and haven't had to charge it. This includes running the AC overnight at a Cracker Barrel - which you'll see soon! It's been amazing so far! Oh, and the inverter is 3200W and there's 400W of solar on the roof.
who is the mystery person in the back 2 min in!!! We have a severe food allergy in the house and Benadryl has saved us many times!! though we use the melt away/dissolve version which works well for us -- have it with us all the time. Good Luck with everything!
Unisom Easy Melts are a rapid delivery and they are diphenhydramine just like Benadryl. I keep them on hand for just this sort of reaction. I’m so sorry. It can be a bit scary when the reaction is profound and time matters ❤ Be well cute family.
I'm with you Daniel, allergies are no joke! I have to be very careful about fruit and vegetables. Fish and shell fish put me in the hospital once before: not fun. Lauren, you'll love the 12 volt fridge: I put one in my AS last summer love the room and fast cool down. Dash looks so cute!
That 12 volt fridge is also energy efficient too, if you are parked where you pay for electricity, you will pay significantly less. I have a seasonal site, the built-in fridge on my unit is used as a storage compartment and I have a household fridge outside that I use. I tried the RV fridge for a month, the performance was poor (probably me opening it too much and the site being in the sun) and the power usage was horrible!
Great question! We're not going to wrap it, to start, but you never know! We kind of like the incognito look. Especially, since we'll be doing more of the off-grid type of camping.
It’s probably a sponsorship, like RV living, they have an RV very similar to there’s but I don’t think it’s as big as there’s, it just depends how you want to live, and limitations of what your towing. RV Living have enjoyed there’s and they used to have an Airstream. But they haven’t got a child with the , which is another dimension.
I also agree about driving. I am allergic to hydrogenated oils and so many restaurants use this bad oil and the servers don't know the difference between butter and margarine. My throat closes and spend more Time than I like to remember in the ER. Take care of yourself.
Great question. We have Dometic AC units on the Classic, but this is a Coleman. I believe they've switched to Coleman on the Classic as well this past year. This Coleman is definitely louder than the Dometic - BUT - it cools things down SO much faster!
Nurse here: Y'all need to "manifest" an Epi-Pen to carry with you at all times! Benadryl is fine, but won't work in anaphylactic shock. Safety first. Stay well.
My daughter in law, has suffered with anaphylactic shock, we found out it was a colour dye, used in medicine, slush puppies, really odd things it was in, it only had to touch her skin, she didn’t have to swallow it, like when the children were ill the cough medicine they had caused awful reactions, chasing the ambulance to hospital so many times, before we found what it was.
Why, why, why would you move a family from a 30’ to a Van? I don’t get the attraction of having less and less space, especially with a baby. I have a 27’ Airstream International FBT just for ME. Yeah, definitely time for the ladies to drive.
My son has anaphylaxis with any trace amounts of milk products, he also does the liquid Benadryl to get ahead of the reaction. I’m sorry you have food allergies 😢
My son is highly allergic to cats …when he was young he kept petting cats and holding them …..he would get lumps all over his face and his eyes would disappear under his forehead which would flop over his eyes

Benadryl in particular induces significant sedation. Stay away from it. Go for safer antihistamine alternatives.

Glad Daniel is ok can't wait for more rv van adventures

So glad Daniel is ok, scary, but so glad he remained calm! Dash looks too calm lol
Finally got home and logged in. I will have to back it up! Missed it!
Can't wait to see your next adventure ❤

Nice, GT Tommy Bahama edition.
Thank you, friend!
That’s so scary. Do you carry an epipen. I’m allergic to everything and I have to carry one. I love your van so much ❤
I love the van but the other airstream seemed to have more room. And a real bed. :)
You traded your travel trailer for a van? I hope it works out for you.
Bitter sweet moment.
Unisom Easy Melts are a rapid delivery and they are diphenhydramine just like Benadryl. I keep them on hand for just this sort of reaction. I’m so sorry. It can be a bit scary when the reaction is profound and time matters ❤ Be well cute family.
Looking forward to your nee adventures!
Daniel, would you take some video of the underside of the van to see which van is built better, the Grech rv or airstream rv

Are y’all going to wrap the travel van? Dash is getting so big he is adorable

I don’t think I could downsize to fit in a van to live ….and certainly not with children
I agree. I’m not understanding the why, especially now that Dash is getting bigger. It’s a head scratcher 😂
It’s probably a sponsorship, like RV living, they have an RV very similar to there’s but I don’t think it’s as big as there’s, it just depends how you want to live, and limitations of what your towing. OMG guys, so scary! Thank goodness Daniel is ok.
Thank you friend! It's always a scary situation when allergies are concerned.
I also agree about driving. I am allergic to hydrogenated oils and so many restaurants use this bad oil and the servers don't know the difference between butter and margarine. My throat closes and spend more Time than I like to remember in the ER. Take care of yourself.
I asked about the air con. Is it about the same amount of noise as the 30 foot has? Or less noise?
Great question. We have Dometic AC units on the Classic, but this is a Coleman. I believe they've switched to Coleman on the Classic as well this past year. This Coleman is definitely louder than the Dometic - BUT - it cools things down SO much faster!
You should always have an Epi pen if you have such extreme reactions. You need epinephrine rather then Benadryl
Nurse here: Y'all need to "manifest" an Epi-Pen to carry with you at all times! Benadryl is fine, but won't work in anaphylactic shock. Safety first. Stay well.
Amen to that! ❤️
U guys got the Ei upgrade? Coool
We did! It's been AMAZING so far!!!! We lost a ton of storage under the bed, but it's worth it.
Ok who was the older guy in the background while driving
I'm there with the fact that Daniel should not be driving. Put your "boss" hat on and tell him how it's going to be!! Enjoy your new van!!
I get that crazy angioedema and anaphylaxis reaction to certain medications and apples. I found out the hard way. I’m glad we are all ok.
I was allergic to strawberries as a child but I outgrew it and can eat them now.😊❤
I have kids and a husband who is allergic to strawberries also
My daughter in law, has suffered with anaphylactic shock, we found out it was a colour dye, used in medicine, slush puppies, really odd things it was in, it only had to touch her skin, she didn’t have to swallow it, like when the children were ill the cough medicine they had caused awful reactions, chasing the ambulance to hospital so many times, before we found what it was.
I guess it’s the hubabuba baby
😊

I Have The Same Thing With Codeine I Stop Breathing Not Good
Does Daniel have an epi-pen?
He does, but didn’t carry it often. He will from now on 💯!!!
Are you selling the Airstream? Or are you storing it?
Why no epi pen?!?
I have several food allergies. I carry an Epi Pen. You might want to do the same in the event this happens again.
😊👍🌹
🙌❤️
You need an epi pen!
Taking all the time to drink it then driving come on got a baby back there
Daniel you should be carrying an EpiPen for a serious allergy.
Hey we’re are you guys
My son is highly allergic to cats …when he was young he kept petting cats and holding them …..he would get lumps all over his face and his eyes would disappear under his forehead which would flop over his eyes
It's narrow but deep
If you were anaphylactic you would already have symptoms. You also would have an epipen

Great tips! Thank you for sharing. We appreciate the you. 🙏
Sure hope you wake up soon, my vote is for the travel trailer! Not the van!
I vote travel trailer also or should have a bigger van for Dash
You know if it was a peanut allergy it only takes one!
Why are you not on the way to the hospital? So you are at the er if you need attention.
How if u are allergic to bananas that you are eating banana bread and yet be shocked about the bananas in the bread that is banana bread. ,,,,,mmmmm
It was an old fashioned donut. No mention of bananas on the menu. 😬
I mean, who uses bananas for an old fashioned donut. Right?!
