    Another gem from the Mick Taylor era..why do the Stones keep releasing compilations and not this kind of gold? Could you imagine what kind of tour they could do behind these songs?

    • @johnschlosser5824
      @johnschlosser5824 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      My guess is that, gven the timing, this recording is somehow the property of ABCKO. No decent outtakes from records owned by that Allen Klein-founded company have yet been released. I wish Mick & Keith would splurge a little and buy back the copyrights to their old material (the way McCartney did with Sony Music a few years ago). And then open up the vaults!

    • @thomasmurphy9348
      @thomasmurphy9348 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@johnschlosser5824 You may be right..hard to believe Mick and Keith (or any artist under the age of 60 for that matter) would give up or sell their copyrights away. I just saw Nikki Sixx sold his songs...guess it's better to get a lump sum now. The music business is just that.

    This would have fit perfectly on the expanded version of Exile that came out in 2010. No need to remix it, no need to redo the vocals, no need to add lyrics, no need for FM radio to play it (haha), no need to give it a new opening that is missing. It’s perfect. No need to put a mustache on the Mona Lisa to try to improve it.
    I’ve been grooving to this since the 80’s when a friend gave me a cassette of the Trident Demo’s. The cassette is long gone…thank you the internet!!

    The greatest mistake the Stones ever made was not doing WHATEVER IT TOOK,
    to keep Mick Taylor in the band.
    For starters, they could have PAID him.
    He was given no credits on SEVERAL albums---in other words, no residuals.
    In addition, his mates should have helped him with drug addiction and got him the help he needed to stay with the band. They did not...
    With all due respect to Keith Richards---on Mick Taylor's WORSE DAY,
    Keef couldn't hold a candle to him.
    Make no mistake, Keith Richards is a very good guitarist.
    Mick Taylor is a GREAT guitarist. A guitar genius.
    Right up there with Hendrix, Clapton, and Santana.
    No doubt about it.
    The five albums he produced with the Stones from '69-'74 are all classics.
    The band was never the same after 1974.

      @denisliber6740 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yeah, he left the band and then he started to make serious money 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣for your info, he got credits on 3 or 4 songs and he said himself they should have given him credits on 3 or 4 songs more, that btw werent hits, so its not like he would be paid a lot more...he was paid enough...he left because he couldnt take the drugs and the lifestyle...and he was on only two songs on let it bleed...keith did almost all guitars on beggars banquet and let it bleed and they sounded pretty good...
      imo jimmy miller was more important to their sound from 68 to 73...

    Play this song for a Claptonoid or Pagerian guitar player and see how they react. This jam or song, whatever, has a simple chord pattern, A - G - D - A. But unlike all the Bob Seeger, Lynard Skynard, Springsteeeen, Tom Pettiest “Raves of Rick Beatto”, follow (if you’re a guitar player) what Mick Taylor does with such a simple chord pattern. He brings in a sophistication that ups the game, that transforms simple pop rock into something smart.
    This track is more of a jam, a birthing of ideas, than it is a song. This track gives you a glimpse how some songs were written, got their start. A jam like this might grow, develop, ferment until they (Jagger & Richards) might rule on it as a song. Still, listen to how Taylor can transform otherwise simple music into something far beyond that.
    Taylor added class, polish, glamour to the music, elevating the music into something that you could brag about in real guitar circles.

      False, for Winter Jagger was on rythmic and Taylor playing slides, there were Charlie and Bill but Keith wasn't even there. The same for Sway, Moonlighmile, Time wait for no one. Keith was in his hard junkie period.

    Cool video. Nothing like the fusion between the public and the Stones. If it could be transformed in energy it could illuminated the all town.
    Ron has nothing to do in this video

    Great outtake. Sounds like exile on main street. Mick Taylor years. Ronnie Woods never filled Mick's outstanding style of playing But that's my opinion.

      Joseph Cutrona you are right, wood a terrible guitarist. he fitted in simply because he could snort as much as keith and survive. taylor almost died trying. ronnie in recovery now, and the stones died. sad truth.

      They best comment I've ever read about Ronnie Wood is that he, "Bleeds all the life out of Rolling Stones songs."

      and now he even decided to bore us to death with his paintings! crikey. ok, he makes more money than with the stones but god they ade awful. only slightly better than dylan s!!

      I do not know why Ronnie always gets bashed. He was an acknowledged guitarist in the Faces. He is always compared to Taylor which is unfair. They are different as players. Ronnie is more of a rhythm player like Keith. And let us be honest, he is better than Keith. Keiths solos are horrible!!!

      @@thomasjensen3214 I liked Ronnie Wood's guitar playing in The Faces _and_ his guitar work for Rod Stewart's solo records. When Ronnie joined the Stones, his creativity and soloing ability waned. In The Faces music Ronnie was creative, inventive and playful, but all-the-while he helped hold the music together. Listen to "Stay With Me". The guitar intro alone is legend.
