You should never get a pet from breeders that doesn't show the pup's parents, the parent's have to look healthy and well socialized, those pups learn from their mother on a young age, also a respectable breeder has only one or two puppies litters a year. Big petstores with many young animals are more likely from bad breeders and puppy mills. The animals that become to old for sale will end up euthanized or abandoned. I personally only want to adopt my pet's, all my current pet's are founded on the street's. To many loving dog's are abandoned, to many people buy pet's without thinking it true.

Switzerland also have dog meat, some people eat pig, some eat rabbit, some eat horse. rich country didn't eat organs, thier ecological footprint are multiple time largest than other country, and you know what?pig got higher IQ than dog, beef got highest carbon

You look at how the mom and dad dog's are kept, that'll tell you how humane the market is. How are the breeders treating their money makers? I don't see any animal rights talking to China and making laws for better conditions. The market looks awful, the animals aren't sleepy from play, they're sleepy from neglect, not to mention those places sell them for food if they're not bought. They refuse to change their laws, it's horrible.

The conditions the animals are in are definitely better than some other animal markets out there. It's very clean in this market. I'd actually want to buy an animal here, there's so many to choose from!

Oh hell naw. It's pretty easy to make something look clean. Also if there are many different breeds it usually screams puppy mill. Also they don't have any water. And also, most are way to young to be taken away from their mother. Please never buy from a place like this no matter how clean it may look. Always do your research and go to reputable breeders or shelters!

The cages are actually not horrible, they’re better than most cages I’ve seen in pet adoption places around my area and some have enrichment or a toy. I hope they don’t stay there for too long because being in the same cage for ages would get quite depressing but I’m sure they’d get adopted quickly and the animals are very cute.

I know its not the same but when I traveled to Vietnam, I tried dog meat, and it tasted fairly ordinary. The issue lies in the unsanitary conditions in which the meat is processed. There should be an industrialization of canine meat farming.

I swear I hear he just said cheap dog , my first cat was 197.00 they iv been trying to find a good price for a in Canada I went to a pet show the other day it was 900.00 for big dog but if you want a small beautiful dog in Canada is more then 900 00 1000.00 2000.00 and up ,please tell the price in that country how much are those dog if the price is less that wonderful but sad for people in Canada , your country is beautiful .

Nigel Vernon The dogs for sale in these kind of markets are pretty expensive so I doubt people would buy them from here in order to eat them.
I lived in an eastern province of China for over 10 years and it was very rare to see dog meat on the menu. I think there are only a few provinces in China where the consumption of dog meat is prevalent.
Where I lived, a lot of people kept dogs as pets. In the countryside, they were kept mostly as guard dogs and there, I did see treatment which I would consider to be cruel, for example, keeping the dogs on very short chains. In the cities, however, people loved and cared for their dogs as much as anywhere else I’ve seen.

@@musclehairybear1990 I have worked for an animal saving project in China and lived there for a couple of years and it was disgusting what many Chinese eat: cats, dogs, bats, snails, apes ecc🤢🤮 you and your family are for sure a small exception and that is great but 99% of your country treats the animals very very bad. Shame on them. And unfortunately the reputation of China has become very bad, even worse
Please distinguish between pets and food.
Pets are bought and brought home, and food is bought home to be eaten. Some dogs are specially raised for food, just like cattle and sheep in your country. I believe that your country also eats a lot of things that we cannot understand. Countries are different, please do not judge at will.
