- At first glance, it'll seem like he's easy, but ironically, the hardest part starts once he's at around 20% health. His defense becomes very robust and it'll take quite some time before you defeat him. Damage dealt to you is also increased in Legend, but I suppose that's a given. The drones can be very annoying since if they touch you, you'll get fazed for a second or two and it can also interrupt your attacks. There are two kinds of explosions here, the land mines' and the drones'. The drones' explosions are the ones you should be most careful of since they are a one-hit kill, so if you find yourself unable to run away from them, activate your ultimate heat mode as a last resort since you won't die if you're in that mode.
Fun fact: You only need to finish two specific substories to fight Amon in 6.
Took me about 20 tries and 3-4 hours to finally be able to defeat him. I had to load an earlier save and upgrade myself a bit more before I was able to win xD But hey, now he's friends with Kiryu and also he's part of my Kiryu clan!

Kiryu's and Jo's rivalry has got to be one of the greatest rivalries in any media. Their in-game battles are legendary (even if they're frustrating as the player).

Those drones really brought a unique aspect to the fight. Instead of usually just beating someone then are, you actually have to worry about movement here because of the drones and land mines. It's a short touch that makes it seem much more epic than the final boss
Just imagine how expensive this fight must have been for amon
OMG the damage from the soda machine item is absurd lol! I see a lot of people say "Wow Amon looks really easy this time around", he's not! He's a lot tougher then he looks and even if you have a good fight you can die immediately near the end from the exploding drones! Nice fight Leon!
If you use the sodas and healing he is easy, but I beat him without healing and sodas and was a hard and Fun Fight.

Cannon fodder? Kiryu might of beaten him but Jo Amon is a fucking beast in all the games and easily outclasses every other character in the series in terms of raw power.
Technically seven since amon was afraid of his ancestor and by the transitive property kiryu won that match

Personally. I don't know about you guys. But i would've preferred if Yakuza 6 was the story of the Amons. Like the main antagonists are the Amon Clan,we could know what is happening under their clan and all and the final boss is obviously Jo Amon. That would be such a end to the legend of Kazuma Kiryu. Finally defeating once and for all this enormous clan.
And wow just imagine the QTE scenes against Jo amon...

Razgriz Knight Yeah,they seem to have a lot of money already ( the rival of Haruka explains it pretty quickly and Amon has a training over several countries in Yakuza 2 ),and they seem to have a lot of territory over the world. I would love to know everything about the story.

He uses same stance as Kiryu but fights differently & sometimes he enters in Azure Dragon Spirit like Kiryu (Or how it called?). Did Amon finally admit his defeat?

Did you know that you can throw explosive bots at him to break his shield? It makes the fight much easier then how hard it looks in this video :) Hope it helps out if you didn’t know so you won’t need to sweat for 4 hours and 20 tries in English version xd

I should 've told you earlier, the cleaners on floor can deal massive damage and break Amon's shield if you throw it on him.

It's because of this fight that I love bow you can stay alive even after getting hit with just 1 HP left while in Heat Burst Mode (that's what I like to call it)

Haven't played any other besides Kiwami 1 and 2, but seems like Amon didn't train for this fight and decided to use dirty tactics. Not cheap, dirty. Attempting to kill Kiryu without remorse is a given. Him stooping this low says how desperate he's become. Still a cool dude, though.
He actually is apart of the amon clan a clan that has dedicated itself to killing kiyru ever since the first game

How would you compare the combat in this game to the other Yakuza games? Is it the best, or worst? Is there anything you wish were different?
It's definitely a lot of fun, I'm not sure if I can say it's my favorite but what I can say is that it's FAR from the worst. There's nothing I would change, the new heat actions are awesome.
what does having that red sphere around Amon once his health reaches a certain point mean? I've seen it recently in the Yakuza 2 PC port but never really understood

Its not as hard as some people think im an s class with my stats and i even have the parry talisman and all i did was just spam heat mode if you're a good fighter dont give the dude any time just spam him and it will be over in like 2 minutes

Gameboynitro 9 well since this is last game that features kiryu, if there is a new RGG game, it will also have a new protagonist. New protagonist will also have his own Amon to fight against. it just will not be Jo himself
Volt46 Yakuza won't be the same without the Dragon of Dojima but hopefully we get somebody that's at least has some badass characteristics similar to Kiryu's. Like how Saejima does.
Gameboynitro 9 Saejima is SUPER BADASS. He's so badass he's the only man that can fight Kiryu to a draw. And this is the same Kiryu that: Beats every final boss, beats Majima 5 times, beats ALL coliseum opponents (especially Komaki), takes down 2 other playable characters by himself and beats an Amon 7 times.
I feel like he is very slow and doesn't have that much of reflexes,that's a shame. I would prefer like the ultimate Amon battle,a very quick opponent with unique abilities and other kinds of QTE.

I get the feeling that the Amon clan isn't terribly good at fighting but they've got a lot of money to spend on gadgets like exploding roombas and HBO death lasers
The issue isn't that they're bad at fighting, it's just that straight up combat didn't work when Jo's rivalry with Kiryu started, so he started trying all manner of tricks and gadgets to give himself an edge

Indeed he is. He is the recurring secret boss in every Yakuza game.

Well the point is that he serves as that one super boss that will never give up. And as the games progress, his will to beat you and his arsenal of skills and tools improve as well. Seriously, in 4 he uses a f**king satellite laser to kill your ass.
What are the two specific substories you need to beat in order to fight Jo Amon?
You need to fight and win against the two powerful opponents that show up in game there is one for each map there is one that shows up right outside of the new gym that opens in the first map and the second one shows up next to the taxi and tram station in Hiroshima
i need to ask, why did kiryu change his outfit during the later half of the game?
There's an outfit for Kamurocho and an outfit for Onomichi. (Not sure if you get the chance to wander with the black suit in the story.)
And more outfits can be used in Premium Adventure.

Ahad Rehman it says in the description that you only need to finish two specific sub stories to unlock this fight, so by the time you defeat him there is still stuff left to do, even clan creator story may not be over when you fight him

arai Smith Not sure if you already found out about it but no, Kiryu is the only playable character in Yakuza 6. Characters such as Majima, Saejima and even Akiyama are NPCs.

If you must know though, Majima is playable in Ryu ga Gotoku: Kiwami 2 coming out this December in Japan.
To be honest, I kinda tired of all these Amon thing in Yakuza series, and all those substories. They should've do something different, revolutionary
