Tom was on the vanguard of the Gay Rights Movement. He had the courage to come out and be open in the 1970s, which is pretty remarkable, considering the temper of the times. Great song, solid guy! Keep up the reactions, Alan - You Rock! ( Any chance of "All Your Way" by Morphine any time soon?)
@@alan-reacts65 Cool, thanks! Morphine are a unique-sounding band who referred to themselves as "low-rock." With only two strings on his slide-bass, Mark Sandman kept the bottom for Dana Colley's baritone sax. Awesome!
Almost never hear about TRB, but I think they were one of the best bands of the early punk era... really great songwriting. Power in the Darkness is still one of my favorite albums.
Remember the late 70s and early 80s with all those truck and car movies and series. Convoy , Cannonball run , Smokey and the bandit , Dukes of Hazard , Etc .They all had some great songs .
The vibe of the song reminds me of "All right now" by Free. Just change the tempo. And then "My Sharona" came in 79. All these songs make a trio in my mind.
Red Opel Kadett 😎 now I’m going to make a reminder tk go back to TRB, I try to make sure that every band or artist on the Chanel has a playlist of reactions not just one song because 😎
I uploaded this video.... 2468.....!!!!! Tom was the first to admit that this song was not what they was about at the time, they just wanted to make a catchy song to get them heard and in the charts basically and it worked... lol for me their first album POWER IN THE DARKNESS still is my favourite album of all time. nice review Alan all the best 😀
