      For certain situations yes. Advantages are less backwashing and rinsing time and is recommended to be changed 10-15 years as appose to sand 5-7 years

      Kesinlikle cam medyası daha iyi filtrede bakteri üremesi olmaz taşlaşma olmaz süzme daha kaliteli olur

    It is also by syphon method.

    • @theaussiepoolguy
      @theaussiepoolguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes can be done by syphon or with a hose with an attachment called a slurpie

    The wet sand gets stuck in my hose so shop vacuum doesn’t work

    • @theaussiepoolguy
      @theaussiepoolguy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I find the same. I just get most of the water out first and tap the hose occasionally which helps move it

      Use a plastic cup to scoop out. It's way faster and won't frustrate you as much as the shop vac does. When you get the laterals, then you can use a shop v as ck to finish up and rinse the laterals like he did in the video. You'll see what I mean. A cup is way better. A tall plastic cup like large fountain drink size.

    my pool rested for 1 year without using it. now that i reopen the pool, its been 2 days of contineous filtration the brown water from the deepwell that has been oxidize by the chlorine still hasnt change, some says the sand inside may becomed hard like concrete thats why it doesnt function properly.

      You can purchase a media cleaner - lochlor enviro clean and run it through the filter as per the instructions on the bottle . I would try that first

    Why are you vacuuming out the sand?! Take the cap off run the backwash out the top. Agitate sand with your hand 🖐️. Takes a minute to start running clear. Put the cap back on. 😮Sand doesn’t get dirty. You don’t need to replace the sand. You RINSE THE SAND. 😅

      You definitely need to replace the sand after about 5 years it can only hold so much dirt

      @@holdenvro9472Sand does not GET dirty. That is like saying Rocks get dirty you need to switch them out. You EINSE THE Sand. Take the lid off the spherical container that holds the sand. Backwash. While backwashing, agitate the sand with your arm. Dirt is evacuated with the water. You now have clean sand. Why am I wasting my time with this comment!!

      @@Relax19647yeah why are you wasting your time giving people incorrect info. You are wrong. The sand needs replaced every 5 years. It says it in every sand filter user manual. All pool techs will tell you this and every pool store employee could tell you this. Can you clean your sand? Yeah I guess but you never know what's left over in it. There is always dirt you won't be able to remove. You seem way to angry about someone removing the sand. What if he is fixing the laterals? What if he is fixing the main pipe running up the center? Can't do that with sand in it.
      Get off youtube shorts and get a life. I'm only here because I've been trouble shooting my filter. Your here because your life is sad and you have nothing better to do

      @Relax19647 You obviously know nothing of sand filters. Over time the sands microscopic jagged edges and ridges wear down. Thus needing replacement

    That seems nice and clean but takes like 20x as long as just dumping it and scooping by hand which is the standard. Definitely saves you from some of the fiberglass though!

      Tipping it over and dumping it could snap the filter arms.

      @@j.d.123 True. The only reason I said that is because neighbour did just that. He tipped it over into a bucket carefully, but the sand underneath the laterals had enough weight to snap a couple. New pump later he learned lol
