When my lung popped, I thought I had just broken ribs again and ignored it. Two days later my CEO saw me at work and freaked out about the chest pain and shortness of breath, tried to call an ambulance because he thought I was having a heart attack. Thankfully talked him out of it (didn't need THAT bill on top of everything else), but I made my mom take me to the hospital. The bottom of my left lung had completely collapsed and if work hadn't pushed me into going, I may not have gone at all. PSA: If you feel a pop or crinkling in your chest, GO TO THE DOCTOR. Especially if you have upper chest pain.

So that's how I spent a couple weeks in the hospital. Happy April Fools to me I guess.

Its funny that you said you thought you had a pinched nerve because the exact same thing happened to me in May and I called an ambulance and they told me it was just a pinched nerve. So now I have to get surgery because the hole opened so big that oxygen won't stay in even with a tube. But its really cathartic to watch your video so thabk you for uploading! EDIT: Also your left lung collapsing again after the chest tube is also the same! Except that I was getting ready to leave the hospital so they did one last xray before I left came back to me with my packed bags and were like 'you can't go home today you need surgery you need to stay here one more week' Nightmare. EDIT: Sorry I'm typing as I watch. Holy crap! Your story about getting the chest tubes in are terrifying. I'm so glad this happened to me in Japan. I was completely awake for all chest tube procedures and the only blood I saw were on the doctors hands. Damn, I've had my lung collapse twice. The second time it collapsed they said they had to do a major surgery to make sure it never happens again because the more it happens the more likely it is to keep happening. It was brutal. I can't believe you went that long without going to the hospital! I thought mine was just a cramp too, it happened while I was biking when I had a bad cough. After 5 minutes I realized that something was seriously wrong and had the friend who was with me call an ambulance. The second time my lung collapsed was a few years later. I was backpacking in Europe, was in Paris and I never even thought to buy travel insurance. I still owe a French hospital $20,000. I had to stay in Europe an extra month because I couldn't fly after the surgery. Thank God I was with my girlfriend who had family in Germany we could stay with. I know the pain you went through, it is BAD. I hope it doesn't keep happening so you don't have to have the major surgery I had to have.
Yes it was the VAT talc surgery. That's crazy you had it three times man. It's been years since I had that surgery and I haven't had any problems since thankfully. That surgery/recovery was probably the worst time I've ever had. Definitely the worst pain I've ever had. There was two massive tubes going through my chest for days after the surgery hooked up to a box that will fill with blood. I had a button I could press to put more morphine into my IV, but it didn't seem to help that much. Does any of that sound familiar? I hope you get sorted out.
I know this video is fairly old right now, but I found your videos through my best friend, who supported you on patreon and was in your discord server, though I don't know how active she was. She was disabled and had a lot of surgeries over the course of her life, and passed away very suddenly on January 14th after a minor procedure. I just thought of her watching this video and feeling good about how someone she liked understood even a little bit about how she might feel. Thank you.

I remember when I had to get a fish bone out of my throat. Even the drugs they gave me couldn't stop me from having a panic attack about it so eventually the nurses had to hold me down.
Last year, during my choir's spring concert, one of our singers and a friend of mine literally went through what you're going through. She's like 1.85 meters or something and she was hospitalised for a few weeks. I remember distinctly visiting her and seeing tubes and shit. I hope you get well soon!

I totally know what you mean by being at the mercy of our bodies. We often get lost in the concept of being able to take every day like we’ll be able to relive it tomorrow, but quite frankly that’s never the case !!!
This exact same thing happened to me 5 years ago when I was 16. It was 80% healed the first time I noticed it, and the two days later it popped again. I went to Scarborough General and they did the chest tube and sent me home the next day, even though I was in the most agonizing pain ever and kept telling them it wasn't okay. I had to go back two hours later, have it removed, and another one put in in a different spot. A few day later I was still in pain and they told me I had to go to Mississauga for a proper surgery since their surgeon couldn't do it in Toronto. I was in two hospital for over a month with three surgeries. Toronto hospitals honestly arn't the best. Glad you're okay.

I’m sorry that happened to you! I hope you get well soon! If you continue to have problems with your lungs collapsing, you may want to talk to your doctor about Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It’s a connective tissue disorder that often goes undiagnosed and can lead to things like this to happening regularly. Feel better ❤️❤️❤️

I got sick a couple years ago and have spent a bit of time in and out of hospitals. It's always great to watch other people in similar situations even for very different reasons. Because it's otherwise not something most really think about day to day and plenty of ppl don't know what it's like at all, so it can feel kind of isolating.
Hey, so commenting from the future. I'm glad you got better. Being a tall skinnny asian (6"4 or about 194 cm) I didn't know this is a thing. I'm actually writing from a hospital because my wife is here. I'm with you that I've never felt my body is a good representation of who I am. I've always felt my ideas, personality, etc, is a better representation of who I really am. But due to my asian background (and that I wanted to practice/liked to learn martial arts) I know that the body is what houses the mind. There is no mind without the body and vice versa. Hence, to be the best mental me I can be, I have to take care of my body. And vice versa, to be the best physical me I can be, I need to take care of my mind. That sounded more spiritual than it needed to be >.< Basically, your computer is useless if either your motherboard or harddrive dies. With that said, it goes both ways. The better the OS, the better the computer runs. The better the hardware, the better the computer runs. Oh, and take this from an artist who use to draw faces for fun. You don't look terrible in this video, you don't look terrible in you other videos. Objectively, you are good looking.
Hospital nurses are the best. When I went into allergic shock(there’s a medical word for it but I don’t know how to spell it but long story short I almost went into a coma) they made sure I had everything I needed and I know there job was to make sure I recovered and didn’t die but they were just soo nice

I remember when I had to get a fish bone out of my throat. Even the drugs they gave me couldn't stop me from having a panic attack about it so eventually the nurses had to hold me down.
Last year, during my choir's spring concert, one of our singers and a friend of mine literally went through what you're going through. She's like 1.85 meters or something and she was hospitalised for a few weeks. I remember distinctly visiting her and seeing tubes and shit. I hope you get well soon!

This exact same thing happened to me 5 years ago when I was 16. It was 80% healed the first time I noticed it, and the two days later it popped again. I went to Scarborough General and they did the chest tube and sent me home the next day, even though I was in the most agonizing pain ever and kept telling them it wasn't okay. I had to go back two hours later, have it removed, and another one put in in a different spot. A few day later I was still in pain and they told me I had to go to Mississauga for a proper surgery since their surgeon couldn't do it in Toronto. I was in two hospital for over a month with three surgeries. Toronto hospitals honestly arn't the best. Glad you're okay.

I’m sorry that happened to you! I hope you get well soon! If you continue to have problems with your lungs collapsing, you may want to talk to your doctor about Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It’s a connective tissue disorder that often goes undiagnosed and can lead to things like this to happening regularly.

Ahh yikes! That's awful! I'm glad you're ok, I can't stand hospitals either, I've been there too many times. Totally agree though nurses are the BEST humans ever, like seriously. Every nurse I've ever met has been like my favorite person.

I got sick a couple years ago and have spent a bit of time in and out of hospitals. It's always great to watch other people in similar situations even for very different reasons. Because it's otherwise not something most really think about day to day and plenty of ppl don't know what it's like at all, so it can feel kind of isolating.

Hey, so commenting from the future. I'm glad you got better. Being a tall skinnny asian (6"4 or about 194 cm) I didn't know this is a thing. I'm actually writing from a hospital because my wife is here.
I'm with you that I've never felt my body is a good representation of who I am. I've always felt my ideas, personality, etc, is a better representation of who I really am. But due to my asian background (and that I wanted to practice/liked to learn martial arts) I know that the body is what houses the mind. There is no mind without the body and vice versa. Hence, to be the best mental me I can be, I have to take care of my body. And vice versa, to be the best physical me I can be, I need to take care of my mind.
That sounded more spiritual than it needed to be >.< Basically, your computer is useless if either your motherboard or harddrive dies. With that said, it goes both ways. The better the OS, the better the computer runs. The better the hardware, the better the computer runs.

Hospital nurses are the best. When I went into allergic shock(there’s a medical word for it but I don’t know how to spell it but long story short I almost went into a coma) they made sure I had everything I needed and I know there job was to make sure I recovered and didn’t die but they were just soo nice
