This was made even more scary by the pretty terrifying voices most of the Chieftains have. Maybe all they needed was a little Spartan blood to get it out of their system.

I like to think the reason Chieftains are so large compared to regular brutes is because they’re the few brutes that actually reach full maturity, and that most of the brutes we’re killing in campaign are actually like teenagers, like a bunch of 16-18 year olds and the chieftains are the 30 year old men who actually managed to survive the rigors of brute society
That's accurate. Brutes are constantly competing with each other, it's part of their culture. Even when the Brutes were first brought into the Covenant, the San Shyum found them in the midst of civil war on their planet. Only the strongest, biggest Brutes stay Chieftains and this is why the higher ranking Brutes are among the most capable of killing Spartans in the Covenant.

Something 343 nailed with Halo infinite is the Accurate depiction of the Brutes in all metrics, whether it be their Voices, Cadence, size discrepancy based on rank etc. Watching Bassus walk towards you tauntingly, with his gargantuan size, after apprehending chief, really invoked a real sense of fear in the Brutes.
They did a great job with them. Wish they had a few extra AI things Like being able to pick up turrets, drop equipment like drop walls, maybe bayonet charge you
It seems like whether or not the chieftens win depends primarily on how aggressive they are with their hammer shockwave attack. The shockwave attack nullifies the berserkers numerical advantage, but if the chieftens don’t use their shockwave attack often enough, then the berserkers attack speed stun locks the chieftens.

Even sword elites are not much of a threat if you punch them, even with a weapon that does not give bonus melee damage. (Edited to change of to if)

I find brute berserkers far scarier than sword elites, because they don't seem to be stun lockable and they kill in two hits on legendary even with maxed shield upgrades.

Honestly, I think it would be a fun game mode where wave after wave of brute berserkers come in, you start with 12 people, and you don’t respawn. Whoever is last wins special cosmetics
They need a way to earn currency. If you have battle pass then you should be able to earn enough currency to get the next battle pass free. Or to buy some stuff in shop you want.
I swear if I had the software/hardware to run AI battles like this I would do it all day. Sooo entertaining to watch, especially since the AI gets better over the years

Loving these battles, Love how you’ve began to pit 1 vs 1 then 1vs2 then 2vs2 and so on. It’s much better. I think you should only increase the number of enemies when 1 enemy is finally defeated solo. 1 brute chieftain vs 5 Berserkers, brute chieftain dies, 2 brute chieftains vs 5 berserkers, berserkers die. 2 brute chieftains vs 6 berserkers and so on.
This means nothing lol, in the comics MC fucking killed a Chieftain with a single Upper-cut, also the Brute that almost "killed" him attacked an inexperienced young Master Chief that was heavily wounded. A lot of people should give context before talking crap.

Yes their is a stronger Version. It has an energy shield and their armor is a different color, possibly an ultra version. They make legendary a pain in the ass, especially the one on the final boss battle.
Yes. They have bulkier silver colored armor and they’re terrifying. Edit: There may be gold ones, but the only gold armored chieftain I can recall is Bassus. Some chieftains that are a High Value Target boss may have purple armor, but a lot of the HVTs have purple armor in general.
There seems yo be like at least 3 or 4 different chieftain variants/colors based on what weapon they use or resistance there is a regular black and red one with high health but no shields a a white/silver and gold variant that uses yhe scrap cannon and is much more resistant called a chieftain commander I think , and then the infamous harbinger fight chieftain that is mostly gold and has shields similar to the chieftain commander and is pretty much the same exact ai as bassus
