genuinely the absolute best and most in depth guide iv seen on the game so far, info was just so clear and direct aswell as showing the spawn locations per map is insane you definitely don’t have to but since the game is still new to console, making a video about simply how tools work or maybe where the breaker box is per map (for later difficulty’s) could be extremely useful starting off on console me n friends didn’t know the book HAD to be placed and not thrown for it to work, aswell as didn’t even understand the dots projector, maybe others struggle with the same and it can help them

Fun fact: When the cursed possessions were released (before that update we only got the board with a 33% chance of spawning) they all had multiple spawn points on each map, and you had to search for them. It was soon changed to 1 spawn point for each because you often found the ghost before finding your cursed possession, making them much less useful since they are good for finding the ghost. I preferred the original version for immersion, but it's a better system now from a gameplay standpoint.
managed to figure out the ghost was a mimic with little to no effort on prison because we found ghost orbs, couldnt find anything else(we were pretty bad at the time), and so i used the monkey paw to wish for knowledge and it crossed off ghost orbs
The voodoo doll (I call him Cuthbert) sat there waving - especially at Camp Woodwind - had me dying 🤣 Great video, thank you! I can never remember where the cursed items are at Point Hope and Maple Lodge, this is super useful!
Note - if a cursed item causes a visible ghost event (music box, The Devil tarot card, wish to see the ghost with monkey paw, and summoning circle), clicking a picture of a Phantom will make it disappear! This doesn't cancel what is happening, though. A Shade may also show a shadow instead of being in solid form. The ghost event also satisfies the "witness a ghost event" objective, even if you are no where near it! After the trap the ghost wish, you can look for a locked door, which will indicate which room the ghost was trapped in.
I hope control rebinding is fully restored after that last patch. My favourite change is to swap Use and Place on controller. L2 / LT and Cross / A. I think it's even worse for keyboard and mouse because Steam never provided remapping for that, and some people really needed to change LMB. It didn't directly affect me since my controller input goes through Steam and becomes KB/M.
I just use them to lower my sanity. I use mirror to speedrun. Last time i used spawn thing but instead of taking ghost photo i just take the spawn thing photo. Also i got my first hanged man by 1% change while playing with my friends
Cursed hunts set the grace period to 1 and add 20 seconds to the hunt duration. If you trigger a cursed hunt the hunts for the remainder of the contract will be cursed.
This is true if you use custom difficulty where you can toggle if cursed item(s) are present on the map. Cursed items lower the reward multiplier. In normal game cursed items dont affect rewards directly but you can take a photo of them to get money from the photo.
What map and difficulty are you playing on? Insanity is the only difficulty that won't have cursed items. Otherwise, depending on what map you're playing on you can reference the end of the vid to see where the cursed items spawn :)
@ I’m actually a moron & didn’t realize they spawn at different times. After going back & searching for a little longer, I found the mirror. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ sorry to be lame! Only question I have is can you keep these in your inventory or are they available “as searching?

I did not know the Tower card did anything. I assumed it was a "dummy" card, or that it was broken.
I think it depends on what color the smoke off the card turns.
Previously, I think it would cause a random interaction. Later it was changed to increase activity instead, and users thought the card was broken.
