Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is a punishing climbing game, a homage to Jazzuo's 2002 B-Game classic 'Sexy Hiking'. You move the hammer with the mouse, and that's all there is. With practice, you'll be able to jump, swing, climb and fly. Great mysteries and a wonderful reward await the master hikers who reach the top of the mountain.

This game is like dark souls.
This game bares a close resemblance to another difficult game called dark souls.
The complex learning curve of the game called 'getting over it' and the sheer anger it induced within players entices me to make a comparison to another similarly difficult game called dark souls.
The advanced learning curve of the single developer game called 'Getting Over It' created by Bennett Froddy and released in 2017 on the 6th of October bares a close resemblance to a notorious triple A game series called Dark Souls which was created by Namco Bandai games and started in 2011. With both games, players typically express high levels of anger which is stimulated in the frontal lobe of the brain by the difficult tasks that they must fulfill in order obtain a high level of relief via dopamine which is released in the dopamine receptors of the brain. In the game 'Getting Over It' the perspective is two dimensional and the player is a man in a cauldron with a hammer who has the task of using this hammer to reach higher levels on the Y axis. Most of these obstacles are considered by most of the player base to be difficult to overcome which induces the high level of anger that they feel. Dark Souls is a gritty and dark three dimensional game where the players task is to defeat bosses in order to progress to the next level. Most of these bosses are difficult to defeat and there is a steep learning curve that most players are angered by. This uncanny resemblance between these two games leads the majority of the fan bases to make these obvious comparisons between the two games.
