I'm never going to get over Calamity Ganon. Not even by the game, but during the release of BotW, he was advertised as the massive goal. Just has similar attacks you've seen from the other bosses and no need for a weak point you can just mindlessly slash him. The Lynels are the toughest enemies. 😎 *'Ganon'* as a final boss makes sense, for he is supposed to be only stoppable by the powers of Zelda & Link and not by any other kind of army or well prepared, _"worldly force"._ But he really was not an entertaining boss-fight. @Falcon Ima let you finish, but "Dracul"(the family last name) is based on the Latin word "Draco" which means Dragon. For Ganon, it's not that he couldn't be beat by the Four Divine Beasts. He could, he just sent four pieces of himself designed to kill each champion specifically in order to hijack the beasts.
On Dracula calling himself “The Dragon” the name Dracul (where dracula got his name) means “the dragon.” Technically he was the son of the dragon as his father was a member of the order of dragons. A sect of knights from the Holy Roman Empire
Colonel Autumn from Fallout 3. For someone who was commander of one of the most technologically advanced factions in the Wasteland, a couple of sentences or a few bullets were all you needed to take him out. I mean, sure, you could talk The Master from the first game into blowing himself up, but that was still a lot more involved then talking Autumn down
I think they made calamity ganon easy because he wasn’t fully complete in breath of the wild. Now in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity the ganon boss fight is actually pretty difficult because he’s actually in his complete form.
In defense of inFAMOUS2, you spent the end of the game powering up like crazy in addition to charging up your powers with the RFI, which puts your lightning on god levels of power. Like Kessler said, there was a point he would have been strong enough to stop the beast, but was unable to and the RFI drastically and rapidly increased your strength by amplifying Cole's power, but at a great cost. This insane power boost is why the battle is so short, since you have now reached near peak power. Kinda liked it tbh because for 1 short battle you got to see what really going all out would look like and that was pretty cool!
In my opinion Alcina Dimitrescu (Resident Evil 8 Village) should be on the list... even before the game got released, everyone was hyped for her beeing the next "Mr.X" or "Nemesis". She got such a huge fanbase and when the game released she died in the first 4 hours of the game with a way to easy boss fight. You literally just had to shoot anything in her and walk backwards when she attacks. I love the game but damn... she was so irrelevant in the end😂
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within did something similar with a character seeming like she would be an important villain because of all the marketing. Then she gets killed off like 2 hours in.
Her daughters put up more of a fight cause you actually had to put a very tiny bit of thought into how to damage them lol but for Alcina like you said just back up and shoot.
One of the Capcom devs admitted they screwed up, because they didn't realise how popular she would be. Um, you only slapped her on all the press releases, including full-size cutouts at Gamestop! It was kind of refreshing to see a female antagonist who looked to be in her forties, with curves like a woman is supposed to have (albeit a bit oversized, to be fair) instead of anorexic girls who look like they should still be in high school. The way Lady D was voiced and her character written, she was so diabolically evil, yet at the same time insanely charismatic, even without the gigantic curves. While the final boss fight isn't bad mechanically, there's no buildup and it's just "there". Story-wise, it was completely flat. Lady D should have been haranguing us the entire game, not necessarily like Nemesis (though that would be awesome), but building on her character, which had so much potential, until the final confrontation. I'd vainly hoped she would somehow make a resurrected appearance in the Shadow of Rose DLC, but sadly, no. SoR was still excellent, though a Lady D cameo would have been epic.
her fight wasn’t insanely hard or anything, but it wasn’t that easy. it was a pretty normal boss fight. it was just dumb that they used the first boss to advertise the game
I always enjoyed the beast fight in infamous 2 as a kid. Gotta remember how op cole is canonically as well, at the point where he fights the beast he’s super powerful
05:45 "Dracula" quite literally means "Dragon". Or actually, "Son of the Dragon", since dragon is "Dracul" in Romanian. His father was known as "Vlad the Dragon", so he got the nickname after him.
I may be a history nerd but I laughed at the dragon/Dracula thing. Dracula is son of Dracul, which is dragon in Romanian, so not only does it fit, the dragon is actually more badass than son of the dragon
Kind of surprise Frank Fontaine from BioShock 1 wasn't on the list. With him having full control of the city of rapture and has so much Adam in him as possible. Yet he is pretty much to beat, heck you can beat the first phase the moment its starts by laying a few land mines in the spot Frank jumps to the moment the phase starts.
@Cen Ciende same honestly. Game was freaking incredible and this is coming from somebody who before that game couldn't stand 1st person games. If the final boss would have been way better then it would be up there as one of the best games I've ever played but that final boss knocked it down a lot
I still remember when I was stacking myself up with lynel gear and hearty food, even figured out how to convert some of my stamina to health. then before my prep was done my brother played on my save for a bit and just walked through ganon with the gears I thought was not enough
Calamity Ganon was meant to bring the player to explore A LOT. The more things you did in the world, the easier he would be. The whole story is about link losing by fighting him alone, along his blights, and monsters. without any help and losing. The easy end is link being able to defeat ganon with the help of zelda who now have released her powers and the 4 champions. Ganon was meant to be a bigger challenge the earlier you fought him, and on that, he was a success. Fighting 4 blights and full healt Ganon in a single fight is very challenging, even more on hard mode. I feel like people forget that a lot. Sure with the master sword and the 4 beast bested hes not a real threat, but I feel like it makes the games charm, everthing you do ACTUALLY matters.
The beast (John White) from inFAMOUS 2 maybe the "omega" big bad (in terms of raw power and abilities) but his end boss fight was a drawn out version of the opening mission. Even the Evil (inFAMOUS; the original Dev planned ending) path when he's your ally he's such a pushover. He constantly complains for you to help him.Wish the series got a PS5/PS4 remaster with all the four games with their respective DLCs and Add-ons in one bundle ($20-$30 for a series that hasn't been touched in almost 10 years).
The Mist Noble might be a pushover, but it’s pretty impressive how he’s able to make sweet music while “strumming on its instrument”. Maybe I’ve been playing my flute wrong, maybe stroking was the wrong strategy
Idk if I was just way OP by the time I got to the fight but the Adam Smasher fight in Cyberpunk disappointed me based on how unstoppable he looked in Cyberpunk Edgerunners
I think one of themost underwhelming bosses ever is the Bed of Chaos in Dark Souls 1. Honestly such cool lore, so much hype and the most of the run-up is just repeated enemies and the boss itself is so obnoxious
When I read the title of this video I instantly thought of Darksiders 2. I remember spending so much time with some of the other bosses/enemies but the final was a total pushover.
That's how Absalom was in the Bible though. Dude got caught running after Daddy David's Army beat his. His hair got tangled in tree branches and he was caught trying to flee. Can't be surprised by Biblical References in games where you are playing as one of the 4 Horsemen of the Christian Apocalypse. It's like playing God Of War and being surprised that figures of Greek Mythology are portrayed in certain ways.
Starfox Adventures had General Scales hyped for the whole game, and when you fight him he just stands there and the battle end when you attack him once.
Blame Miyamoto for telling Rare to turn the game into a Star Fox game. Once that happened they had to find a way to shoehorn Andross in to be the final boss.
I just want to make sure that the fact "Dracula" means "son of a dragon" doesn't go unnoticed. Just in case the first two thousand people commenting about it get missed.
Adam Smasher from Cyberpunk. They really hyped him up and made him seem intimidating. Then you fight him and he's nothing special. Just another Animal built Cyberpyscho. Even after edgerunners you would think he'd be scary. Another one is Alex Mercer from Prototype 2. You're pretty much a God at the end of the game, and fighting him was a cakewalk
To be fair in infamous 2 you have to sacrifice yourself and all conduits to beat the final boss and the fight happens over several smaller battles not even counting where you nuke him. Or the fight at the start of the game.
@LenavaBlack Actually the good ending is cannon as stated by the developers and that is why Cole is dead and you play as delsin in second son. There are conduits in second son because new ones were born and/or some of them somehow survived. They don't clearly explain that part as far as I'm aware. They chose the good ending to infamous 2 as cannon because far more people finished the game with that ending than with the evil one based on trophy stats.
@@Efyhxsl59m Damn Developers that makes no sense, the bad ending would make so much more sense considering the fact that Augustine got her powers from a Conduit that could make conduits which in the bad ending was Cole.😧
@LenavaBlack Or it couldve just been the beast that made Augustine idk. Maybe there's another conduit that could do it. All I know is what the developers said. Also delsin talks to zeke (coles bf from the first two games) and he basically confirms the good guy ending.
In BOTW I played for forever, did about all I could do and never battled Gannon because I figured he'd be too hard. I mean thunderblight Gannon kicked my ass so badly, Calaminty Gannon had to be like 10x harder than that, right? When I did finally battle him I could not believe how easy he was! I fought Lynels that were harder.
6:01 This is most likely a nickname based in historical context. ‘Dracula’ roughly translates to ‘Son of Dracul,’ as Vlad the Impaler’s father was ‘Vlad Dracul’ AKA ‘Vlad the Dragon.’ This actually ties in to the history of the Order of the Dragon, which is its own fascinating thing.
In the Mario Galaxy games, the final confrontation with Bowser is underwhelming. In the first Galaxy, the fight is just a longer version of the previous fights. In Galaxy two, however, the final fight has only 3 attacks from Bowser, and one allows you to injure him. At least in the first game, you tricked Bowser into hurting himself, then taking ad of his injury.
On the subject of overhyped bosses, *Skyward Sword* springs to mind. All things considered, I found Demise to be relatively easy, especially compared to the Cistern boss, Koloktos.. Even The Imprisoned was more challenging(though mostly because it took me embarassingly long to realize I could attack his head WITHOUT tripping him with his toes)
I think the main problem with Infamous 2 was that the dev team weren't really considering the Beast to be the final boss. I've read that the "Evil" ending was supposed to be the canon ending until people only really played through the "Good" story then quit. As a result, I think the dev team really set it up so that the Evil Ending, were you take on Nix, was the final boss. It's a tough fight with a good emotional payoff. As such, they thought of the Beast as more of a Mid-Boss fight and adjusted accordingly (which to me feels accurate).
As for Dracula being called "The Dragon" that isn't silly. That is actually his name. "Dracul" or "Dracula" is literally a name that means "The Dragon".
Hey Gameranx, I won't bore you with the details but your guys' videos got me through some nasty stuff I my life, just hoping I'm early enough for you to see me say thanks 😊
With inFamous, this may very well be a reach in me trying to find a reason, but I always felt one of three things happened. A. Kessler was building you up to be able to take on the Beast to prevent his exact future from happening again, so maybe during the final fight with him Cole secretly unlocked a type of lighting that was specifically able to harm the Beast. B. One of Kessler and Coles listed powers is Matter Manipulation, in that they are able to transmute energy at the atomic level into lightning. So Cole/Kesslers lightning arent normal lightning and so thats why they are able to harm the Beast. C. I always figured the Beasts powers energy absorption and dispersal. Just live the Ray Sphere he gets his powers from he is able to absorb energy and radiation from things around him, but as well able to activate the power of Conduits around him. So he is able to absorb the energy/radiation of the nuclear missile, but unable to do so when it comes to other Conduits. Kinda like how in some stories dragon fire is useless against other dragons, but regular fire is still good against them. Again, just some thoughts, and will never really know since the devs never said anything or confirmed beyond the comics.
Everytime I see Infamous in a Gameranx video, it just reminds me how much I want the series to come back. Also was there a mistake with Falcon saying "at number 3" but it was really number 5?
I love the Witcher 3 but "you cast a shield and roll around" is literally the entire combat system. It's such a shame that the combat boiled down to that
First thought was Kai Lang from Mass Effect. Everyone and even the cutscenes make him sound tough and everything. And yet by the end he’s a big pushover.
It's a bit odd that many end bosses aren't so hard, but more time consuming to take down. That is about it. Legend of Zelda last boss when you have TH-cam video's of people doing little to nothing in the game and just going straight after the final boss and defeating him, does take some skill when your character has next to no abilities, but just knowing they can do it, when so many other NPC's in the game cannot be taken down so easily. Is pretty sad and I am for one Love The Legend of Zelda!
Agreed. I love the game to bits and the surprise reveal of the character really worked well for me. But it would have been a lot more epic if this boss battle was actually good.
@@maximilian2843 he wasn’t built up but there were hints of him such as the endless cycle with arisen and dragons. So his sudden appearance I think was ok, he was the god figure that you were challenging to defy faith.
I do want to argue about Absalom a little bit. He's not so hard on normal difficulties, but when fighting him on deathinitive difficulty like I did (with experience of the game already under my belt, third playthrough), he hits like a truck and can take a hit. He ended up being every bit of a challenge he was hyped up to be. Of course, my favorite boss is still probably either the Guardian or the Archon
Dracula being called “The Dragon” is a reference to the real life Dracula. Vald Dracula the II had many titles such as “Valid the Impaler” and “The Dragon”, the latter being a monicker that Vlad’s father also went by. The real life “The Dragon” was terrifying for the amount of people he massacred to include his methods which served as a foundation for mythical Dracula the Vampire.
Biggest paper tiger last boss ever, the end boss of Fable 2. I literally force pushed him off the edge first move, boom end of game. So sad, Fable 2 was a huge letdown and not even on par with the OG Fable.
Um, the name Dracula literally comes from the word "Dracul" or dragon. So no, "The Dragon" isn't a lame name, thought up by the developers. It's his LITERAL FREAKING NAME.
I was somewhat expecting Rias from Dying Light because it was this massive build up saying he’s a mad man he he would have his armies tear you apart but by the end of the game he has no army his right hand man was harder of a fight than him and his fight is just a QTE fight which was super underwhelming. I guess at the very least the guy was missing a hand and he was just a human character.
Quick Time Event battles and Puzzle Battles for the final boss are really anti-climatic. It is fun to have those kinds of mechanics thoughout the game, but not in the battle that is supposed to be the epic confrontation that the entire game built up for. However, there was a time in the game industry like ten years ago when a lot of companies felt like this was "the thing" they had to put in their games
You forgot about Lucien from Fable 2... You spend the entire game trying to recruit a dream team to take him down, and it turns out all it took was a single regular bullet !!!
Honestly I remember playing Darksiders 2 when it first came out and beating Absolom in the 1st go, but I dont recall if I found him challenging or not. I remember taking the fight seriously, but I dont remember if I felt the fight was too easy. Maybe cause I just turned off my brain and enjoyed the moment.
I don't have any particular memories of Absolom's challenge either. Not him being difficult, or being easy. I'd assume he was easy because I definitely had the best gear by the end, but I just don't remember either way either. Weird.
Salazar from Resident Evil 4 (love that game) One shot from a rocket launcher and he's dead. he will always be my favourite Resident Evil villain though :)
Kinda hated the final boss in Crysis 1, I was shooting at it for 10 minutes, avoiding all it's attacks, thinking I was using lots of strategy to damage it, turns out nothing does damage to it except the nearby rocket launcher then it just felt pointless.
As for The Dragon in Castlevania 2, "Dracul" is Romanian for "The Dragon" (or "The Devil"). And "Dracula" supposedly means "Son of the Dragon". So Castlevania calling Dracula "The Dragon" is actually a reference to the origin of the name, "Dracula". I believe Vlad the Impaler was actually called "Dracula", his father was "Dracul", as people referred to them as "the Dragon" and "Son of the Dragon". So yeah, kind of a fun fact there for ya! PS don't quote me on what people may have called Vlad the Impaler, hahaha. Although I'm fairly certain there were these Romanian historical figures, a father-son duo, which were actually referred to as Dracul and Dracula, serving as the inspiration for the Master of the Demon Castle's better-known title.
I didnt mind the intro for the cyberdemon as much when I played doom 3 all those years ago... but the puzzle aspect.. oh man, it confused me at first then disappointed the hell out of me.

Her daughters put up more of a fight cause you actually had to put a very tiny bit of thought into how to damage them lol but for Alcina like you said just back up and shoot.
Capcom trolling.

Yeah, I was like “yeah but Dracula means dragon”
I laughed as well lol. I was kinda surprised he didn't know that
No it's not, the word dragon is the same in both languages. Dracul means the demon/devil.
@@SamuraiPizzaCat6604 nobody knows romanian come on... only romanias, and even them barely know the language.
@@ZGtxconsidering the name 'Dracula' is associated with vampires most people ain't gonna think of a dragon
The final boss is literally the only negative of the first Bioshock, and I will NEVER get over it lol
@Cen Ciende same honestly. Game was freaking incredible and this is coming from somebody who before that game couldn't stand 1st person games. If the final boss would have been way better then it would be up there as one of the best games I've ever played but that final boss knocked it down a lot
@@darknesswave100 Yeah, BioShock is my favorite game of all-time, hard to say if I would have become an indie dev if I haven't played BioShock.
Let's just forget he happened, would you kindly.
The Ganondorf fight at the end of Windwaker is painfully easy too, and I get it's right after puppet Ganon, which is pretty hard, but still..
Where's Alduin from Skyrim? For a dragon known as the world-eater, and granted, a villain I like, his final boss battle was pathetically easy.
I'll do you one better: Mannimarco in Oblivion.
I've fought random dragons that were more of a pain than Alduin himself, which is kinda sad
He constantly complains for you to help him.Wish the series got a PS5/PS4 remaster with all the four games with their respective DLCs and Add-ons in one bundle ($20-$30 for a series that hasn't been touched in almost 10 years).
i’m surprised Adam smasher from cyberpunk isn’t on here he was made out to be such a badass but the boss fight was way too easy and kind of pathetic
👍🏼 part2

Don't forget about the Dragon God in Demon's Souls. Massive build-up to an epic fight to end up being just run and push 2 buttons.
Despite that, I've seen so many people get torched on their way to those ballistas. If nothing else, it's certainly underwhelming.
Dragon God was the first on my mind when I clicked on this video, it really was portrayed as the epic final boss in the trailers, but yeah….
Dracula is the Slavonic genitive form of Dracul, meaning "[the son] of Dracul (or the Dragon)".
That's why he's called The Dragon in Castlevania!
I was expecting a fight with the strength and intelligence of Albert Einstein, but instead got a boss with the intelligence of a potato.
As always, great vid Falcon. But…is it number 3 or is it number 5? 🤔 yes, I was paying attention. Lol

[MASSIVE NUMBER 5 ON SCREEN]
Sorry, but I laughed my arse off.
I like that Gameranx mentioned such an older game like Castlevania 2. I wish they would feature more games from older systems.
Thanks for your feedback
Adam Smasher from Cyberpunk. They really hyped him up and made him seem intimidating. Then you fight him and he's nothing special. Just another Animal built Cyberpyscho. Even after edgerunners you would think he'd be scary.
Another one is Alex Mercer from Prototype 2. You're pretty much a God at the end of the game, and fighting him was a cakewalk
To be fair in infamous 2 you have to sacrifice yourself and all conduits to beat the final boss and the fight happens over several smaller battles not even counting where you nuke him. Or the fight at the start of the game.
🤔 pretty sure that the bad ending is canon considering that conduits still exist in First Light/Second Son
@LenavaBlack
Actually the good ending is cannon as stated by the developers and that is why Cole is dead and you play as delsin in second son.
@@Efyhxsl59m Okay Second son has an update/DLC that I was unaware of Nevermind then
Honestly, the final boss of the blood and wine dlc for witcher 3 was a much more satisfying boss to fight 👌
Excactly! Detlaff was a real struggle. I remember using several hours before finally beating him. Wasn’t even on deathmarch the first time
The dragon is pretty scary if you know the history about the real dracula.
Cyberpunk’s Adam Smasher even more so after seeing him in the anime Edgerunners
6:01 This is most likely a nickname based in historical context. ‘Dracula’ roughly translates to ‘Son of Dracul,’ as Vlad the Impaler’s father was ‘Vlad Dracul’ AKA ‘Vlad the Dragon.’
This actually ties in to the history of the Order of the Dragon, which is its own fascinating thing.
These guys somehow manages to increase their quantity and quality at the same time
Hats off🙌
All thanks to your support

Virtually every Skyrim boss is like this. The only real boss in Skyrim is the Dragonborn
Skyrim is the most overrated game of all-time.
@@philithegamer8265 have you played it?
I think dragon god from demon souls should be on here, maybe in part2
So glad Witcher 3 was on here. The last boss was such a dissapointment for how big of a character he was
Everytime I see Infamous in a Gameranx video, it just reminds me how much I want the series to come back. Also was there a mistake with Falcon saying "at number 3" but it was really number 5?
Infamous 1 and 2 were games I could never complete because of how repetitive they were. I did manage to finish Second Son though.
yeah he makes at least one oops per video lol
I love the Witcher 3 but "you cast a shield and roll around" is literally the entire combat system. It's such a shame that the combat boiled down to that
First thought was Kai Lang from Mass Effect. Everyone and even the cutscenes make him sound tough and everything. And yet by the end he’s a big pushover.
The only thing saving him throughout the game is plot armour
I... don't even remember him for some reason.
That first number 3 was dumb, but the second number 3 was just plain stupid
The will Ferrell joke is the most accurate joke I’ve heard from your channel
The seneschal from dragons dogma was a pushover of a final boss. It represented how underdeveloped fights against humans were.
Agreed. I love the game to bits and the surprise reveal of the character really worked well for me. But it would have been a lot more epic if this boss battle was actually good.
True, but i think the seneschal wasn't built up like the dragon for example. So it wasn't painful to clap him in the end, just another scratch.
@@maximilian2843 he wasn’t built up but there were hints of him such as the endless cycle with arisen and dragons. So his sudden appearance I think was ok, he was the god figure that you were challenging to defy faith.
Thats cause Grigori was the final boss.
The beast isn't really a fight. The entire time, yiu are slowing him down and buying time to charge the rfi.
Eridin on NG+ deathmarch is nearly impossible
He is tough enough to not be included on this list for sure.
For real, I've fought harder NPCs in Assassin's Creed Origins than the Wild Hunt boss in Witcher 3 😒
Somewhat related to this, please do a video on the 10 best boss intros or entrances in video games! Love your content!
Weird.
He 2-3 taps you on deathinitive difficulty. Very easy on lower difficulties where getting hit is part of the game..
Salazar from Resident Evil 4 (love that game) One shot from a rocket launcher and he's dead. he will always be my favourite Resident Evil villain though :)
👌👍🏼
Kinda hated the final boss in Crysis 1, I was shooting at it for 10 minutes, avoiding all it's attacks, thinking I was using lots of strategy to damage it, turns out nothing does damage to it except the nearby rocket launcher then it just felt pointless.
5:48 In historical aspect, The Dragon makes sense.
Vlad Dracul, the real person Dracula is based on, has a family symbol that is a dragon.
He called himself son of the dragon actually. Others called him the impaler.
In Resident Evil 4 every single boss can be killed in one hit by buying the rocket launcher continually from the merchant.
At number 5 it states number 3
Apologies
