As always I suggest those looking for apartments in Taiwan to check out 591 as well as the various Facebook groups relating to house hunting in Taiwan! 加油~
Great video. For the $430 a month apartment how much would you have to pay up front in order to move in. Often places want a deposit and sometimes theres even a middle man/Agent involved which can up the cost
The majority of landlords I have seen in Taiwan request two months security deposit (Seems to be the norm). I know what you mean about those middleman fees! Those 1/2 month agent fees always annoyed me a little bit.
@@Travelingjoe Is it just 1/2 month. In China the agency fee was 1 month rent that you never get back because it goes to a separate agent/middleman. I hope and assume there are ways to avoid them. I dont have an endless bank account.
I used to live in 西門町 I didn’t have a choice because it was a company house. But it was a terrible place to live. I feel they had no time after work to do anything until they transferred me to 天母. That area is much better
Well this one doesn’t really have a name it’s just a random building I found through an independent landlord. I would recommend posting on the Taipei room Facebook groups to find something close to NTU. There are lots of good ones you just gotta get a bit lucky! 加油
I actually found this place by posting on a Facebook group explaining who I was and what I was looking for (budget and what not). I think that would probably be the best way to get a few decent options. Oddly enough I just moved out of this home yesterday, so maybe it’s back on the market! Haha
This is crazy to me, where I'm from in the UK, I'm renting a TINY single room in a house sharing with three others and it's £402 a month (approx 16,179 ntd) and my rent is considered incredibly cheap!!! But to be in Taipei in a central area and being able to have your own place is mind boggling to me. Like, for less than what I pay now you at least get your own bathroom which I don't have here. And for a tiny bit more than my rent you have a fully functioning studio! I don't even live in a major city so to be able to get something like this in the capital is wild.

Re: wasp nest “we even have our own neighbors” 😆 love the optimism! Good stuff thanks for sharing.
The neighbors have since moved out! 😆
Wow! Your room looks like really cozy and nice place. I'm going to Taiwan in next week, so Thx for letting us information.
Thanks! I hope everything goes nice and smooth for you here! 加油~

Your new home looks awesome! Must be nice to have a sofa and a cute kitchen! 😀
The kitchen however small is a huge plus! 😆
