I'm a bit surprised you are resisting the urge to pick up this coin! You show the gold sovereigns a lot, I think they made this coin for you CCT! Great vid with info collectors can really use 👍👍
The purity concerns me as well as the price. Everything from the Royal Mint struck in 999 seems to suffer from milk spotting, and I wouldn't want an 80 quid looking like a milky mess.
Great video, Twitch! The new Ag Sov will be a must-have for me. For its historical significance as a first. AND, its as close as ill ever get to a gold sov! 😂Need to get a Crown too! Stay safe my friend.
The silver sov would have been much more interesting and more value for money had it been in sterling silver with the twist of it being 925 silver mixed with 7.5% gold giving a very mild gold hue to the coin. But yea there are better George and dragon coins to pick up in silver, my brother in law gave me a queen Victoria crown in exceptional condition which made me proper chuffed.
That's pretty cool,I like it, never seen a 1/4 oz silver sov.I see that everyone is saying its expensive for that size,I tend to agree, but Ive seen people pay alot more for some stuff
Shiny dragons are always good. I did think they would be bigger for that price. But sovereign size. Wondering what the gold:silver ratio is on those? Per oz, 6.6. Did I drop a zero? Apparently not! Rough calculations, including VAT, an oz of Au buys somewhere around 26 or 27 of them. Hmmmm Can we buy stocks in the Royal Mint ?
When I saw your last video it made me want one, but a quarter ounce of silver for 66 pounds and shipping is high. Does Charles need money or something? It's pretty expensive...
I roughly estimate the profit on those to be about £2M. Charles certainly doesn't need it. I actually bought a full Victorian Maundy set for not a lot more, and I know what I'd rather have.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher I got the sets of the first Charles and last Elizabeth coins and managed a quarter ounce Charles coronation. These are not easy to get in The States and granted not much interest here, but I couldn't pass up on history. I will look for the 1977 silver sovereign...
@@GardenerEarthGuy It's great that you managed to get those coins. Like you said, a piece of history. If you can't find that 1977 piece, I'm sure you'll be able to get one of the silver £20 coins with the George & Dragon design, as loads of those made it over to the states.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher yes the traditional, artisanal mega factory made Chinese box. What's interesting is that you can get actually very fine boxes made in china for not very many bickies
Thanks for sharing this release, CCT! The artwork of St. George is a classic - but I'm not impressed with this one. I don't think James Bond would have carried those in his "special briefcase". I believe I will pass on the silver at this price point.
Liked and am very happy I found your channel and subscribed a while back ,enjoying your content, thanks
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Lot of money for a quarter ounce !!!!!
You can say that again!
The king needs more money to cover his expenses, lol
Happy Weekend to you Sir.
And to you Tom.

Talking of gold sovereigns, a video on those is planned for next week.
First 🥇😅keep calm keep stacking ☺️💖👏🥳
Thanks for stopping by.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher you’re welcome 🤗
Thank you for the info on this. I thought it was going to be a one ounce bullion coin. Good to know it will be limited (somewhat) and proof.
I suppose I should have guessed it wouldn't be an ounce when they called it a "sovereign". Too pricey for CCT though, and a high mintage.
The fractional sovereign is gorgeous! Wouldn’t mind adding that bad boy to the collection but probably wont. I appreciate the info my friend
I like the concept but not the price and purity.
I bet those coins will look phenomenal in the proof finish!👍😎👍
We'll have to wait and see.
The price is impressive ) thanks for the information

Now that alloy certainly would have made it more interesting. That's awesome that you were gifted an exceptional Vicky Crown.
I been winning auctions like crazy the last week, got a ridiculous amount of stuff to put on the forum, in the bars and other jewellery sections.
Excellent. I'll take a look when I'm back home.
Now thats expensive silver for sure 🤔✌🏻
It sure is my friend.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher I think you made a good decision to give this coin a pass… 👍🏻😊
I have the 2013 20 for 20 St. George and the dragon, which cost me £20. A better deal but still a lot for a half ounce of silver. I love the design.
Yup. I had a few. All gone years ago.
Really only worth the price of scrap silver in the states unless you sell to a collector
Yup. Finding a collector is always the issue.

I see they're making 1/4 oz 2025 silver British Sovs,$20, plus 1oz Odin silver bullion bars,$40
Yes it is pretty pricey, but it definitely aimed at the collector market, and like said there are plenty collector pieces with high premiums.
@@667hodge Can you send me the links please.
Interesting…
What's the betting they release a bullion version after this one.
WOW!! That's an expensive piece of silver for a 1/4 ounce. I'll pass on that! Thanks for the info CCT. 👍
My thoughts exactly!
You down with CCT?? Ya you know me! ✌️🇺🇸🍻
I appreciate you stopping by.
A premium is one thing, but selling silver for £320 an ounce?😮 Do they know something we don't?
Yes. They know there are a lot of collectors out there that will have to buy one.
Thanks for sharing CCT … and Russell. Box from China! 😆😂🤣
Think I’ll pass at that price. Too bad!! Could’ve been awesome.
Like I said in another comment, I suspect they will release a bullion version if this is a success.
Seems all government mints are charging too much these days.👍👍🙏🙏
Certainly looks that way.
I think I will resist. I wish they would do a 1oz bullion coin
I agree. Preferably with milk free silver though.

You'd certainly be on a winner if you could buy stocks in the Royal Mint.

Yes. The Crown is lovely. Anyway, at that price, they better blumin well ship it with a wooden display case
We'll have to wait and see. It's more likely to be a cardboard box made in China though.

@@dleetr That is very true.
WTF, I thought the first silver Krug release was expensive.
And RM beat them!😆😆😆
I have purchased mine and today I just received my package when I opened the package my coins is out of its capsule 😢 not very happy about it
I wouldn't have been happy either.
It’s already been made during the reign of Queen Victoria. The silver Crown. Same design.
Someone didn't watch the video. The Vicky Crown was shown, along with others that have similar designs.
Nice but the price stings a little there.
It sure does.
Ouch! They kick ya right in the ol coin purse!
Indeed!
Same weight, same diameter! A risk of some unscrupulous people gold plating them and selling them on?
That's a possibility I guess.

Thanks.
A mighty fine "hi viewaaaaahss"
Thanks mate.
I actually like it but crikey it’s exy!
It sure is.
WHAT !! its not even 1ozt
Nope. Same weight as a sov.
Too pricey for it's size for me.

Means silverprice will...
....be too high for CCT 😁

I think the R M in royal mint should stand for ripoff merchant's
Indeed!
Not worth the money. You can buy a valiant instead and it cheaper and a full Oz.
I agree.
Too much for 8g silver coin. Two 1oz George & Dragon is much more appealing.
Totally agree.
Only a mug would pay over the spot price for these. That's noy you is it. ?
You mean "not"? I certainly haven't bought any.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher Oops. Apologies for the Typo. You're right.
I think it is a Load Of Crap , Do Not Purchase this Coin .
I would have to agree with you on that Graham.
