    Hey Chris, I'm a carpenter by trade, I restore trucks as a hobby, and income. My opinion the building came out excellent! The floor looks great also, you worry too much dude. All your videos vastly informative and entertaining. You just keep on doing what you're doing and I'll keep on watching 👍✌️🇺🇲

      Concrete shrinks when it cures so getting it perfectly level is almost impossible, when I built storage facilities we would always turtle back the slab so water ran out

    I personally love the randomness of your channel. Just real people living real lives doing real things. Doesn't get any better. The garage is coming along beautifully. See ya in the next one!

      Yup. I'd rather see things done the way Chris is doing them than rushing and trying to create content just to put up a video as many channels do.

    You post videos when you choose and we can choose to watch them when we want. In my opinion your channel is one of the best if not the best on youTube. I'm still in awe of your skills and abilities and most of all admire your attitude and patience toward your projects. I'm still trying to figure out where you got all of your training as it's hard to find someone so well versed in the wide range of abilities. From boat motors, autos, jet ski engines, etc. You sir have skills.

    Chris, level the floor with 2 part apoxy seals the floor and protects it as you know. Use a floor water squeegee. It's really simple. And puts a nice color solid or swirl finish. Looks awesome brother.

      Can’t drag a transmission or diff across it, definitely can’t use the floor as an anvil. His floor is more then acceptable as far as level.

    • @Oldobsfordsusa94
      @Oldobsfordsusa94 ปีที่แล้ว

      @turbolab2376 well, the puddling up bothers him as a masonry 30 day is enough time to protect the floor If he's interested in it the apoxy put in will level it out also.

    • @dc6233
      @dc6233 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only one problem, he has to wait 28 days for it to cure before he can epoxy the floor. I know what it feels like to be so close to being able to use your new shop but can't until the epoxy is done...

    I’m super happy you brought us along for the new building. Don’t worry about the negative comments. It’s a happy surprise when I see a new NNKH video. I also really appreciate the random bits of knowledge and the pricing.

    Chris, When you buy your forever home, please do an entire video set on getting it setup. From buildings to tools.

    Just so you know, when we take concrete cylinders for testing, we place them in water for a 7 day, 14 day and 28 day test under compression to determine the PSI strength

    I know about flooding! My two brothers and I took turns at continual flooding for seven days, a whole week of our summer vacation. Thirty years later it was still the best part of the garage. Looked the same as the day it was built.

    The floor looks good. It’s harder to get a perfectly flat floor when you’re working on an interior space because you don’t have the advantage of being able to screed the concrete using the exterior form boards as a guide. They are just floating in the concrete and trying to get as level as they can. So given all of that you look like you got a really nice floor.

    Curing was more than perfect. Your climate is so wet that it would be perfect without it. It will be perfectly tough. Great job. 30 years western Australian building talking.

    I think it's really cool to see that whole process, excited to see a lift and everything else you'll do in there!

    For my garage, I used a 6" slab of 4500 PSI concrete, and I wet-cured mine also. Wanted the extra strength for a lift for sure.
