Using major 4 ( i had major 2 before) quite a while and overall, it is a good headphone. Pros: sound quality is very good, very beautiful design, retro style cables, light weight, good battery life, wireless charger, maybe in the video you may not like the mic sound but good thing is even though it is not close to your mouth people i've communicated said that they heard me very well. Cons: The leather WORN OFF! Definitely it is not good for working out. You can change earpads but the leather at the headband part cannot be changed. It needs to be stitched by a sewing machine. And i dont think you can do it easily. Even a tailor will have a very hard time. ( Edit: i’ve watched how to change headband recently. You need soldering skill, not tailor ) They did not produce brown leather color at first, why? Major 2 had that color and it was fantastic now major 4 has brown color too but why not at the first place? And like all the overhead headphones if you use them with sunglasses/glasses after one hour it will hurt your ears no matter what. Overall, it is worth to buy it but you need to be careful about how to use it.
Yeah. I've used some Major, namely the first Major, Major 50 FX & Major II. All of em have the faux leather pobelm, only lasted 2 years before they starts peeling off. I guess one of the reason is the climate, I live in Indonesia with above average humidity and is pretty hot during hot season. I stored those headphones on my desk, which exposes them to tje elements, hence shortening tje faux leather lifespan. Just recently I bought Major V, I'll try to store them in my cabinet when not in use instead on my desk while also applying beeswax once in a while to further protect and moisturize the faux leather. Let's see whether it'll last longer or not.
I was considering both options, but this is the video that helped me pick- the over ears. Noise leakage is such a big thing for me because im super self conscious about people hearing my music while im studying.. also im super into heavy bass, so marshalls had to be an option :) Love this (im never going to be able to afford either)
also, even though it came out years ago, its still one of the best. Dont forget that you can buy replacements on ear cuffs on BOTH(major&Monitor) so you won't be worried about wear and tear. Unlike other headphones. 😂
Just got the Monitor 11 was so pleased with them, till I went out on a windy day and the ANC amplified the wind so much it was unlistenable will definitely be getting rid read of much cheaper headphones that doesn’t have this problem with wind
Mics suck on both. That's something Marshalls really need to work on. I have the Mayor IV's and I love the audio. But I also do lectures online and it sucks to be constantly interrupted by my students saying the mic audio sucks. My 2c. Are the big Marshall boy worth the price tag?
Thank you for this review!! I’m considering to buy major 4 i don’t care abt noise canceling at all but i’m worried it’s not good in terms of sound quality. normally i’m using airpods 2nd generation and i don’t like it. Would it worth to switch to major 4 for better sound quality
Okay hi pops . Nice review ! I like loud volume and I like strong Punchy Bass sub Bass. I have been always using Beats Studio 3 and has had a couple pair now the first pair seemed louder the second pair are loud but not as loud I was kind of a little disappointed when I first got them a couple years now but I have since got used to them though I remember that the first pair with louder and I remember the early Dr Dre Beats Pro exceptional for bass but they don't make them anymore. I mostly listen to a lot of EDM so can you please tell me if I can be doing better for loudness and bass for EDM . Should I just stick with the Beats Studio 3 ? Please point me in the right direction sir. Thank you 🙂
I have the major IV which I love but the only problem is the noise leakage. I wish it didn’t have that and I don’t think the audio is great because I always get complains that I’m not very audible when my headset is on
I just bought the monitor II because I really liked the major IV. I thought I was going to upgrade the sound but what is this weird crisp sound, no bass and the overall volume is almost the half??? I’m trying to see if I can fix it but I’m so disappointed because I took my time in investing in an “upgraded version of major IV”. Jeez…
Same problem here. 6 days ago I just returned the Marshall Monitor II. The place where I bought the headphones did some test on the headphones and told me they were fine. :/
I love the sound quality and compactness of my Majors but the fake leather is awful, mine is peeling off, i look after my headphones and am not a heavy user. Just for this i would not buy again.

What is the sound signature of your marshall major 4? Or what is Marshall's house sound?

Finally I've found a review that tests the mic on these! Really great job with the review overall as well, it was concise and very helpful :)
Yes to that. Some even say i sound better on phone calls/game communication when I'm using it(major 4).

Wow. Thanks God I've enough brains not to buy plastic Sony or Senheiser for an enormous money.
thank you for this, I was wondering if I should buy this one or the JBL TUNE 760nc?... please
You're killing it bro 🤜🏽🤛🏽👑
