Late to the party here, but just in time for me and I was really struggling to decide and well, being a much more casual listener despite making music on my own I will probably going with the IV's seeing as they cater to a more casual on the go listener rather than an audiophile, and not being much of a metalhead I suppose nothing breaks the deal for me with the IV's, and they are easier to get where I live right now as almost all III's are out of stock everywhere. I own both models and I still watched your whole review, thanks for being so thorough! I loved my MajorIII and wore them until the plastic black flakes were in my ears every time I used them. Bought OEM Version of II and III and I’d say that II is better because it’s more flat than III. If you’re a DJ like me or more into flat sound I’d recommend II because III and perhaps IV got boosted on bass & highs which is good for rock sounds but bad for monitoring / DJ music with lots of bass & high frequencies.

That's a very interesting perspective on the Majors. I bought Major II's years ago and the sound is utterly shockingly amazing. Bass response is low, they handle SERIOUS volume, clear mids and crisp highs (wired). So I bought three Major III's for my kids because they were on sale for $99. What a mistake. The Major III's sound utterly puny and irritating compared to the II's. Best I can tell they are actual Marshalls not the knock-offs. So sound-wise you find that Major IV < Major III it would mean that Major II >∞> Major IV's.

The biggest bad difference between the 3rd and the 4th marshall major for me is the impossibility to hear bluetootn signal and wire signal on the 4th in contradistinction to the 3rd. Great review, thanks! One question: does the IV’s ear cushions fit on the III’s, or in other words, can you swap them or are they a different fit/design?
A few days ago I've buyed original (there a lot of fake of this headphones exists) Marshall Major III brown wired on aftermarket for $20, it was in good condition. I wasn't expecting them to sound good, because I've used a lot of cHi-Fi iems (7Hz Salnotes Zero, Moondrop Chu, KBear KS2, KZ EDX Pro and AKG K240 Stidio), they're sounds gorgeous, but the sound of Marshalls... It's not flawless, but it's very individual and aggressive, exactly what I love in music. Main flaws is VERY heavy pressing headband, peeling leatherette and in some places unreliable engineering solutions (btw, this is fixed by 3D printed parts). Otherwise, they are perfect, and their appearance is unrealistically gorgeous.
Hello, which one do you recommend? Marshall major 3 or the IVs? I have doubts because I see model 4 cheaper than model 3. And it seems strange to me that the latest model is cheaper. Thanks friend.
Hello I’ve been looking for the white Marshall helmet for a while I would like to know where you bought it !? because I can’t find it anywhere, on any platform it does not exist on the official site of Marshall and I would also like to know if it was bluetooth or not !?
Very happy to find a review wich discribes the sound a bit. Since I'm not a fan the whole overwhelming bass thing I think I'm going for the major 3. But I do have 1 question. Can you just use them with a cable and not the bluetooth? A lot of stuff I own doesn't have bluetooth 🤔
I’ve had my Marshall III headphones for more than a year and I’m still learning how to use them! I did only pay $60 US so I’ll keep them and try to look for more videos on how to operate them

People commenting the 3's look nicer / better build quality ... But I do like a nice "warm" bass ( and I would be using them for audio books a lot). Any words of wisdom ?
Hey im lookin for a headphone to use on my electro guitar amplifer and also at my Phone, do you suggest for me to buy major III for my amplifier or are there better options at this price range?
Hello! Does the earpad size match between iii and iv version? Because I can not find anywhere earpad replacement for major iii and they are pretty messed up after 2 years of use. Thanks!
I have had my major 3 for 3 years, and now the wire is messed up. That's why I want to buy Marshall Major 4. Because they are long-lasting, although I can re-buy the Major 3 or upgrade, so I just decide to upgrade even though there is a major price difference between the 2. NO idea if I made the right call, but I hope this one will last me 3 more years. Any advice ?
I usually don’t wear it more than about two hours at a time, at that point I find my ears a little warm and uncomfortable but to be fair, I don’t think I’ve ever worn another set of on-ears or over-ears that are any better. I don’t get a headache whatsoever from the clamping pressure (and I’m pretty sensitive to pressure).
I like Marshall Headphones/Speakers But Little Scary Expose Cable In The Headphones and No Case Protection Included in the box..Very Great Features/Specs..I cannot Decide if I get the Marshall/Bose/Sony Headphones..
Major 3 sounds better, premium details, look better, better construction.... i guess, it's better overall. Major 4 it's... plastic headphones. It worth the slightly better battery life (comparing with the major 3 voice (60h) and charging options (wireless vs USB type C ). I tried both... i will keep my Major 3. Check the low prices now for major 3 and save some money.
I want to purchase MJ3, can u tell about comfortable using on ears? Is it nice or it hurts? And what about sound quality? Is it loud if I like loud music? And do other ppl hear my music? Thank u
@@joanaaasha5429 At the beginning the phones are a little tight, maybe a little too much, which is good to walk on the street... and it can hurt after a few hours using it.... but.... after some time using it, they lose some "force", and I can say, they become more comfortable and you can still walk or run without losing them. I use them all day for work and they are fine, no pain. They can be loud enough, I guess, and they will cancel exterior noises very well. Well, if you listen to the music very loud, people can hear something, but not too much. Maybe It's not the best sound in the market, but looking at the pros and cons... i like them a lot.

Thanks for the question and the answer. I've been looking to replace my ear cushions, but the ones for M3 are sold out. I'm gonna go for M4 cushions!
I’m wondering are they tight on the ears?? Like squeezing?
"life hack" with marshall headphones: Stretch them out for a couple of days. Get them way more comfortable.
Great review! Question: as iphone doesn't support aptx will there be a significant difference in the sound between major 3 and 4?
I am wondering about this too. I just wrote them on Facebook and I hope they will respond before I will buy the Marshall's.
There is an answer for this question?
@@simox-xomis answer is Good.
Great video. Excellent picture quality as well... what kind of camera are you using?
superb review!
I was in a conundrum before this review. But this video sorts it out. Thanks 😊
Hello, which one do you recommend? Marshall major 3 or the IVs? I have doubts because I see model 4 cheaper than model 3. And it seems strange to me that the latest model is cheaper.
Thanks friend.
hey, cool review, but what about noise cancellation? and can you compare it to beats solo pro?
nice review-comparison, thx
The Major 4 only supports SBC BT codec, Major 3 supports aptx codec and AAC. That is a major disappointment!
A Very good review, this was very informative 👍
yup. well done
Wait the 4th major already released? Oh, that's why in my country the major 3 was on sale
Yes here too bro
Might be a good time to get the 3’s, IMO!
Very detailed💚
Hi @crunchchannel Can i use earpad of Major 4 to my Major 3? is it compatible?
I can't decide between the Marshall Major IV and Sony Wf-1000xm3 earbuds. They are almost the same price, but which one sound better?
Do you know which sound better?
Hello I’ve been looking for the white Marshall helmet for a while I would like to know where you bought it !? because I can’t find it anywhere, on any platform it does not exist on the official site of Marshall and I would also like to know if it was bluetooth or not !?
Bought the major iii for 59.99 on black Friday best by i ever made.
Yes u can
thanks for the video! nice information..
Thank you.....just one question before I order why am I unable to see that Brown color anywhere on the 3 or 4 ???
I’ve had my Marshall III headphones for more than a year and I’m still learning how to use them! I did only pay $60 US so I’ll keep them and try to look for more videos on how to operate them
Wth. There is nothing complicated with Marshall 3. Just read the manual ffs.
thanks for this
Hey the unique local i found it where someone is using to play guitar xD I'm Brazilian so, sorry for the english
It worth's the price? I live in apartment and i'll buy a marshall code 100, so when i'm studying i need a headphone. I can use it with amps? thank you!
I like Marshall Headphones/Speakers But little Scary the expose wire cables in the headphones..Great Features/Specs..I cannot Decide if I get Marshall/Bose/Sony Headphones..
i had the III´s for a while and i noticed that it takes pretty long to turn them on, about 3 to 5 seconds. is it same with the IV´s?
It only takes about 1-2 seconds to turn on and about 2 more seconds to go into pairing mode
@@crunchchannel great, thank you. It's a very small detail but I use headphones every day and it is very noticeable on the marshall III
People commenting the 3's look nicer / better build quality ... But I do like a nice "warm" bass ( and I would be using them for audio books a lot). Any words of wisdom ?
Thanks man! I go to THe III
love rock and metal, but also listen to pop, some hiphop... so I guess the 4 give me more range there
Hi, instead of google assistant, does MAJOR III Voice supports APPLE's SIRI?
Can you use the 4s to the marshall app?
which is the most comfortable?
May I know where to get new replacement of ear pads and head band for marshall IV. Mine is worn out
looks like i’m getting the Major III
Hey im lookin for a headphone to use on my electro guitar amplifer and also at my Phone, do you suggest for me to buy major III for my amplifier or are there better options at this price range?
How are these compared to skullcandy crusher wireless gen1? Thanks 👍🏻
Hello! Does the earpad size match between iii and iv version? Because I can not find anywhere earpad replacement for major iii and they are pretty messed up after 2 years of use. Thanks!
It does
I have had my major 3 for 3 years, and now the wire is messed up.
How did they turn out? I'm about to make the same change and i want to know if its the right call.
@@matiasd5226 They are great ! just like the Major 3 !
@@alimaster5292bro major 3 sound is better than major 4?
So for you the major iii sound better than the IV?
I just got my major 3 from pops 5oday and its cool and chill
How is the clamping force with this? Can you wear it for hours straight?
I usually don’t wear it more than about two hours at a time, at that point I find my ears a little warm and uncomfortable but to be fair, I don’t think I’ve ever worn another set of on-ears or over-ears that are any better. I don’t get a headache whatsoever from the clamping pressure (and I’m pretty sensitive to pressure).
I like Marshall Headphones/Speakers But Little Scary Expose Cable In The Headphones and No Case Protection Included in the box..Very Great Features/Specs..I cannot Decide if I get the Marshall/Bose/Sony Headphones..
How good is major 2 with guitar amplifier?
Are they good for Djing?
i am wondering about cleaning options, can you inform me, please
you should make more vids
So should I get the Major or the Beyerdynamics dt770 pro? anyone who tried them and can tell me some differences in audio quality?
Which did you get?
@@kaikaih5771 well, I got some In ears for christmas so I didnt get any of them, also I need a new car so im saving up for that right now 😅
