A truck wash would be a very good idea if the truck gets dirty. I've been missing this feature from ATS for years, but it seems no one in the development team has thought of it in the 10 years since the game came out. I think it would make the game much more authentic.
It's not that they haven't thought of it. It's because they haven't been able to find satisfactory results with good-looking dirt and mud textures for the trucks. Since truck washes seem to be appearing more and more in the game now, it looks like we MIGHT be getting close to having dirty trucks in the game.

But a dynamic dirtiness would show very well, e.g.: light dirt at 5,000 km, dirtier at 10,000 km, very dirty at 20,000 km Not to mention rust, paint wear and scratches. Unexpected puncture. Unexpected technical error. It would make the game much more simulative.
The auto headlight feature is kinda nice. Im forever getting stupid fines becuase the game thinks i need lights on at random daylight amounts. Hoping they change the lighting in tunnels at some point, always find them to well lit.
This is freaking cool! Now the only thing scs needs to do later on is to like add the supporting dashboard icons for things like the adaptive cruise controp, auto high beams, etc.

I hope that soon SCS will finally place the fifth wheel in the middle of the three rear axles and not in the middle of the last two axles as shown in the video because I never managed to find joy in playing with this flaw of not having a flexible fifth wheel and in the middle of rear axles
With the appearance of the Drive Wash prefab, can we expect the addition of dynamic painting when DirectX 12 arrives? It would be a huge leap for vehicles to get dirty over time for truck drivers to have to take a look at the truck.
That key modifier feature is really nice! I hope you can use double-press with it too. Right now, I'm using Steam Input for these, but they don't work when playing under macOS and Wine. This will fix that problem.
Haven't had the chance to try the beta yet, but my favourite feature would definitely be the moon phases. That's something I've been wishing for many years. Does anyone know if existing truck/trailer mods are affected in any way by the new wear/damage system?

Estaria bien que se ensuciara el camion con el paso de tiempo y dependiendo el clima, por ejemplo que que cuando llueva se ensucien las llantas de lodo, se que hay un mod, pero implementarlo directo en el juego estaria genial y le daria mas sentido al uso del truck wash. ( o probablemente este implementado y yo tengo como 5 meses sin jugar american truck), excelente video, definitivamente lo volvere a jugar.
i think the "wash shop" at the end can be a teaser from a future "dirt" feature, lets see whats coming in the 1.50 or 1.51 maybe, SCS never add stuff without reason :v
I just don’t see the point in used trucks tho only if your new to the game cos 98 % of ppl on this game will have millions so u can just by new and in this vid u saw that to fix the whole truck up from 2nd hand will cost over 250,000 for that u can by a brand new one
Yes, but people starting new save files will find the feature to be useful. Also, you can always challenge yourself to only run on used trucks and see how that goes.
Completely useless stuff. The moon, used trucks when after ten deliveries you have one billion of bucks, test area only for modders, washing a clean truck.... C'mon!
Weather redo is nice. The repair overhaul and used truck dealers are awesome features I didn’t realize I was missing before they were announced.

But 2 things, the company Pickit isnt new, there are in Texas, and the truck wash prefab is on Montana, Texas and Oklahoma :)

I heard that since the trucks are licensed, they cannot be shown to have visual defects (a mandate by the truck manufacturers).

They teased a big update for December. It's November... I hope to see more features and enhancements next month.
