    My uncle knew Elvis when he worked at MGM now Sony Studios in Culver City, California. Showed us an autograph of Elvis he got. He said he was a cool dude. Always saw him and the guys goofing around outside the recording studio with squirt guns.

    A good story, but it does not represent who Elvis was at all. Alice is describing 5 minutes he spent in the company of an absolute legend, it was only 5 minutes. Elvis after a concert was probably in party mode and most likely just having fun with Alice.

    • @E3ECO

      Hard to say. I imagine Elvis's later years were a bit warped.

    • @danc3693
      @danc3693 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I’m sure it was more than 5 minutes and he is not portraying himself as an expert on Elvis. There are plenty of stories over the years from people who met Elvis and while perhaps charmed, found him to be a little odd, eccentric or call it what you will. Elvis’s social experiences were waaay different than the average person’s. This is a guy who grew up very poor in The South and then literally secluded himself there, surrounding himself with a bunch of perpetual adolescents. Elvis was also not really well traveled in the way other wealthy people often are. Sure, he was in the army in Germany for a couple of years, had a place in BelAir when he made movies and concert toured city to city without leaving his hotel. Pretty much anywhere he went, he was surrounded by the same group of people and did not interact with many outside of the world he made for himself, which included drugs. I’m not bad mouthing Elvis because I’ve been a big fan for 55 years but for me, these are just facts and please understand it is just another point of view.

    Extremely good point-don't get to big to be closed in to the world. Part of Elvis isolation is that the Colonel did not want Elvis in public to prevent him from being overexposed, and keep the mystique going.

    • @siddokis2945

    Elvis Presley earned movie studio's $ 2.1 Billion, his record sales earned over $800 Million including $27 Million in 2017.... 40 years after his death, he earned $1 Million per concert, and his estate earned $10 Million in 2020.

    He's misinterpreting Elvis' motives. He was so proud of the x-rays because they demonstrated how good he had become at karate. Karate was a HUGE part of his life --- an enormous interest. And most people who practice it never have a chance to apply it in a real-life situation --- they only spar or engage in competitions where they aren't supposed to injure their opponent. So he had a rare opportunity to apply it outside the dojo, and he apparently was very effective.
