I'm floored by how he paid tribute to Elvis and even credited him with his desire for music. Not very many artists have done that. No disparaging word from this true gentleman. Thank you, Mr . Plant. You're a true gentleman.

Yes he has mentioned several times his administration of Elvis, who got him interested as a young boy. It would have been great, being there to hear their conversation with Elvis. Robert & his humor, is always so great, another thing to make me love him.

Main part of the program . I really enjoyed visiting with JD and another member of the group whose last name is ( Enoch) I think that is the correct spelling. I asked him of what it was like to have worked with Elvis and he was kind enough to answer my questions of which he had probably been asked hundreds of times! God has had many opportunities for me. I'm impressed at this interview. Plant describes Elvis so perfectly. And I'm surprised that Elvis realized that he had become locked into a parody of himself. I think he was an extremely kind and intelligent person who wanted to please everyone. Remember, Elvis was generous to a fault -- at his own expense. He didn't end his life with much money. Had he placated others less he might have done the more gritty blues rock he was very capable of doing. Lennon said, "Before Elvis there was nothing.".

Elvis didn't die as a has been either! He passed on August 16 and just a few weeks earlier, on June 26, Elvis received a new Golden Record, as he just sold 1 million copies of his last album, entitled "Moddy Blue". Also, each one of the concerts he did until his last tour was sold out!

Not in terms of musicianship. He played basic guitar, and never penned his own tunes. Chuck Berry & Buddy Holly had far more of an influence on musicians. Elvis was simply at the right place at the right time - the first identfiable solo boy band creation. ehe He was The King Of RNR for all of 2-minutes. Sang pop ballads to blue-haired grannies in Vegas for two-thirds of his career.

Interesting statement.....As far as Zep....Sure great band but...They NEVER Evolved like the Beatles did..They were basically Blues based (if you listen to their 1st Lp) then knocked out some pretty good R&R. But their sound didn't really change all that much..The Beatles however
Changed drastically thru-out their career...Listen to their 1st thru their last..Unbelievable change!!!
The Beatles out of ALL the Rock bands,Pop bands,Etc...(including Elvis) Changed the most in their 6 yrs in music. Also if you add up all the Beatles music..It comes to little over 10 hrs of music!!!!!!! They changed music with a little over 10 hrs......Nobody..I mean NOBODY has ever done THAT!!!! Also, Zep has NEVER won a poll over the Beatles for number 1 spot....The Beatles have ALWAYS won!!!!!! I know it's just a poll but.....I think you got it!!!

And yet the largest ticket selling concert attendance act when both existed in the 70s was Zeppelin. And Rolling Stone Magazine has been known to kiss the ass of The Beatles, Stones and Dylan for 50 years. I'm well aware of music history and I recognize the Stones significance, but they aren't inventive as with The Beatles, Floyd and yes Zeppelin. They are a band that rehashes their Americana influences genetically and sometimes quite well. But they are no were as artistic as their die hards claim them to be. You appear to be the one who knows very little about Zeppelin's contributions to popular music. Check it out.

To think if Elvis had lived would he have teamed up with someone like Led Zeppelin or Paul McCartney or John Lennon. Great interview. My mom was 2 years older than Elvis so I grew up with Elvis being part of our household. I saw all his movies and we talked about him like he was part of our family. Back then TV was pretty bad so we listened to music. Funny comment about the song , "How much is that doggie in the window". My mom used to sing that song when we were in the car on some of our crosscountry road trips. She was the entertainment for three small kids in the back of a car. Back then radio stations were dead air in most places and of course no IPADS.
Robert painted a great picture of a wonderful icon.

I love hearing stories about Elvis from perspectives outside of the USA. Plant describing Elvis in post war England and what that meant to him which is something quite different from what was going on with Elvis in America, it's quite interesting.

"And then I heard Elvis"...few people can be as cool as Robert Plant. I love both him and Elvis. Two fantastic singers who both had that blue note, and never lost it.

Plant was on that mystery show where the camera shows bits of the person only, and after the guessing the person is shown, and I don't think anyone appeared more a friend to mankind than he did, just beautiful.

I bought Robert Plant's Principle of Moments back around '84, and have just started playing it a lot recently - I mean, the whole Album is compelling. And now, to hear how respectful he was of another artist I overlooked, is so refreshing. It beautiful when people see something you don't.

I’ve always wondered what Elvis thought of the bands who came after him: whether he liked them or not, I mean. Rock music was definitely in an interesting place throughout the 1960’s and 70’s. Between Beatle-mania in the 60’s, the rise of Heavy Metal with bands like Black Sabbath in the late 60’s/ early 70’s.. not to mention Southern Rock, bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd.. I’ve always wondered what he thought of all of that.

For years now, I haven't much cared for Robert Plant, (himself, due to his always sounding like he thought of himself above everyone else while being interviewed), but I'm very thankful for this interview. Watching this has finally earned my respect for him as a person once again. And no, I'm not in any way saying that my opinion matters to anyone else, so if anyone feels the need, go ahead throw rotten tomato's my way. I'm sure I can figure out some kind of use for them. I just had to get it out there because really does feel so much better. It hasn't been easy disliking the lead singer of one of the worlds most legendary bands that I have loved since I was 10 or 11 years old.

I'm a good friend of Joe Esposito, one of Elvis' employees, or Memphis Mafia if you will, and Joe told me about the day that Zeppelin and Elvis met in Belair I believe at the house Elvis was renting. Joe said that the members of Zeppelin were beyond respectful, almost to the point that Elvis soon was wondering if anyone was going to speak! Finally Elvis said, "Hey guys, if you aren't going to open up and talk I'm going to bed!" Soon enough, the conversation started and they all got on great. True story from someone "in the know" and who was there.

Joel Mc And you're a moron. If you must know, Joe is suffering from dementia as I write this. And yes, not only did the Beatles meet Elvis (Joe rode in the car with them), they also met Zeppelin as well. Learn your fact before you comment..idiot.

antarctic FAIL. I am well aware that Elvis met Zeppelin on more than one occasion. However, they didn't fucking meet him in his home in Bel Air, the BEATLES did, and legend has it, that he said to the BEATLES, not Zeppelin what you stated. Elvis first met Led Zeppelin after a show of his. ultimateclassicrock.com/led-zeppelin-meet-elvis-presley/

And Elvis was listening to bluegrass and jazz and Jimmy Rogers- very old country, and blues and rhythm and blues, and gospel quartets.... Man, young and poor and southern and hungry... And crazy about music.... The movie studios made his film image into a cartoon with childish songs. One those days were up he went right back to those music roots. But depression and lots of meds made him I'll, fat and took his life.... It didn't take long.

When the great Robert Plant talks this highly of another singer there is only 1 title for that other singer and thats called THE KING.
