I'm a nurse in the UK and your surgery is a very quick procedure Mika. Makati Med has very good surgeons. All you need to avoid post surgery is lifting heavy things otherwise you will be fine. Staybsafe and will pray for you Mike and Nelly
I used to be an operating room nurse, i'm hoping your surgery will just be done laparoscopically, so you'll just have very small skin incisions plus you'll quickly recover! Get well soon 🙂
Hi! I just want to let you know that hernias aren’t really to be a concern of yours. It’s not a major surgery and usually it’s considered minor. Doctors usually do this routinely and the doctors in makati med are pretty good. For the meantime, it’s normal to be uncomfortable because that’s a result of a hernia. Just make sure Mike doesn’t exert any force or effort for the meantime. This may include carrying heavy stuff,sports or even forcing yourself to poop. The reason for this is that the hernia test might get worse and it may protrude wherever the hernia is. I’m a nurse and if you have questions just dm me @aznhustla. Also, got friends who are surgeons Over there so if you need recommendations in the future let me know.

I'm a recovery room nurse and I've had a surgery in my tummy too. Apart from the pain for a couple of days (which is very manageable by strong pain meds), you'd be fine in no time. All the best. 👍😊

No big deal...I had the same thing happen to me a couple years ago. However it caught me by surprise and the last thing I needed back then is a surgery of any kind. This reminded me of the appendectomy surgery that I needed done exactly in the same general area when I was 13 yrs old back in the PI. As far as the hernia procedure, the last thing I remembered was being prepped and a few seconds after the epidural I was out for about 45 mins. then they woke me up and everything is finished. So If I can get through that...you shouldn't have any problem. Expect light activity for a week or two and if the area is uncomfortable (and it will be) take the pain pills!. Good luck!!
If you get it done in Germany they will probably give you a bag of ice for the pain. They don't like to give opiods for anything, unless you are dying.
