The order of this Souvenir d'un lieu cher is as follows:
at 0'00" is Meditation (op.42, no.1)

The first movement piece was originally going to be the second movement of his Violin concerto, it's beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful, but not superior to the second movement of the Violin Concerto.
Wonderful musicians here thankyou!

Superb composition for violin and piano, beautifully balanced playing
Many thanks for offering this beautyful piece of music with this awesome performance. I feeled for long that the 3th movement - Melodie - just is crying for some lyrics. This beautyful playing of the part by Julia Fischer, who, by the way, I've already heart playing violin several times life, sent me the words for this song. So I couldn't resist for using this playing as playback for my song you might enjoy at my TH-cam chanal named "Souvenir vom allerliebsten Ort".
Yeeeeeaaaah found it
Why is it hard to find the piano and violin music for this? This is some of the most beautiful music ever written.
It's nice to find the whole of this piece in this format. Well played all round.
The melodie is quite famous in its own right, e.g. as the theme music to Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis
I first heard the last exerpt -elegie in a movie -I wake up screaming- sung by carole Landis beautifully called things I love!
Perfección!
The first part of this was intended to be the second movement of the violin concerto? I read that Tchaikovsky and his lover Iosif Kotek were unhappy with it. Later Tchaikovsky wrote a new second movement, the one we have today.
Beautiful composition
Так и скерцо здесь! Ну и Крейцберг,молодец! Юля-гений,все встречи не зря происходят!
Merci wafae pour ce beau partage
Sorry Steven, was watching A video of Mahler, what the creatures of the woods say to me, and just saw and read your answer to a question i had asked last week. Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

Hola

Picture looks like a reservoir. But what do I know?
I've an idea this might be in Scotland or the UK's Lake District because of the type of houses that can just be made out.
Thanks for your comment, Tony. Perhaps we'll never know unless the photographer reveals all. BTW, I see your namesake has just died. I wonder if his crooning comes within your musical orbit. I have quite broad tastes myself. I'm always exploring. Many interesting works can be mined from Through the Night on R3.@@tonybennett4159

Did we ever discover where the lieu cher is?
It was the von Meck (Tchaikovsky's patroness and confidante) home. Von Meck stipulated they should never meet, even though he often stayed there.
Any kind person care to translate please.
