Excellent. Helped me to understand 30GX175 at my workplace. This is rather advance explanation which requires some pre-requisite in refrigerant cycle to understand better. nevetheless, there isn't many videos like this which describes real chiller components. Mostly just talk about refrigerant cycle. Thank you once again. I benefited a lot.
Great Video @9:20 Carrier removed the check valve (on later models)that was in the oil filter cavity after they found out that oil pressures where wrong. If you replace the oil filter they advise removing "Gutting" the check valve. I have never had good fortune for a Carrier Screw to hold back pressure to change an oil filter. I closed Suction valve, oil line valve, and removed oil solenoid coil, they still bleed refrigerant. I do complete refrigerant recovery to service these.
The economizer is another name for hot gas by pass. Just another name. It does have multiple purposes as in cooling motor with cool suction gas along with sun cooling liquid going to exv. 26:52 Carrier is trying to maintain a 200 degree motor.
I couldn’t thank you enough for this video I have 2 neglected 30HXC process chillers at a large mill in WA that I have inherited I’ve gotten after hour calls at 2 am a couple months ago. Been in the trade for a while now I just haven’t put my hands on chillers Trial by fire Any information helps me and I thank you again.
Thank you so much I’ new on this one I’ has Carrier water cooling model 30HXA 106RZ. Still working on she it leaking all over on Compressor I’ leaning a lot from your. V. D O
Just wanted to let you know that your description of the unloader operation is not quite correct. These compressors have no slide valve, and are not full variable capacity like the later Carlyle 06T, and similar Trane and York screws. The two unloaders are similar in action to the suction unloaders on a recip compressor, they are only on/off poppet valves that load the compressor from nominally 45% capacity with both off, to nominally 66% and 100%. But, great video, keep it up. I wish I'd had this channel to watch back when I was starting out.
Great video mate, like it. I did the GX/HX course in UK when they first came out with the open economizers. The economizers were described as "capacity increasers" not "efficiency increasers". Could be different with your plate heat exchanger type though. Cheers.
Looking for the ball valve at compressor when needing to change out external oil filter. Also how would I replace the oil switch located on the bottom of the separator. Should I reclaim all the gas for the circuit or hole system?
Hi Sir, hoping you are enjoying best health. Sir, in our power plant there are three set of AC Chiller 30XA0502G with compressor A and B. Right now Electric Box thermostats or electrical interlock failure alarm appearing
As refrigerant circuits are different and water enters from one side and exits at the other side, how I should check the evaporator approach as we have only one chilled water outlet temperature sensor at the outlet of evaporator, so the circuit (if in operation) nearest to the chilled water outlet should be considered for Evaporator approach calculation right?
@@HVACTIME dear sir i check everything is fine even exv also opening 54 to 67 % but compressor filled with liquied also motor cooling valve become frosty and compressor motor side full moisture.
@@HVACTIME there is only one sensor like thermistor only on discharge port. Other 4 transducers discharge suction oil and economizer Water inlet and outlet temp sensors. I appreciate if you will guide me EXV works on which sensor demand.
Usually means the discharge temp thermistor is out of calibration. Its is usually in a well so easy to replace. Its a few inches down the line from the compressor.
Those o-rings have griefed me on multiple occasions. Atleast the ones Carrier provide seale, Bitzer on the other hand leaks even more with a new set, do not ask my how i know 😡. Just get one fabricated that is one size bigger.
That motor cooling solenoid valve actually has a fixed orfice. Food for thought! 👍 great vid

I remember subscribing to your channel shortly after this video was made....good ole days

Great video,as a new chiller tech these videos are really helpful
awesome!

Good content.
Thanks for explaining it so thoroughly.

Great videos. I enjoy reading manuals but I enjoy the videos more.

Awesome content brother , please explain complete power and control wiring diagram in paper along with practical . Thanks
thx bro for sharing your knowledge. god bless you.

Thanks a lot
How do you remove the fan blade
brother i have a issue loss comunication with compressor protection module 2 what is this?????? can you explain me about fault
Do you know what type of oil we can use for this compressors?
Dare you to hold enter and escape at the same time. If ya know you know! 💪
Thank you for this video.
SOLID VIDEO...LEARN SOMETHING..QUESTION..HOW DO YOU ISOLATE THE EXTERNAL OIL FILTER FOR CHANGING.
There are supposed to be iso service valves on either side.
Which carrier chiller replace 30GX and is the latest
Discharge pressure not building and suction not increases what's problem
i want to know swhat is the dischargegas thermostore failer
30GX 255 alarm suction pressure how can i solve this one

The condenser fan run in reverse during low ambient condition.
They dont run in reverse. The draft from the other motors will make them spin backwards but their not running with power to them in that state.
Those chillers are JUNK! Especially the float chambers. Nothing but headache
Sir i need help, if u can share nmber pl
