  • Rafael Nadal claims the iconic 2008 Wimbledon final will go down as his favourite Federer battle.
Roger Federer admits he is 'super excited' to play his last professional tennis match alongside long-term rival Rafael Nadal for Team Europe in the Laver Cup.
Nadal picked the iconic 2008 Wimbledon final as his favourite memory of playing Federer, in which the Spaniard prevailed in a five-set marathon.
Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, has savoured the camaraderie shared between the renowned 'Big Four' at this year's Laver Cup, an experience that normally doesn't occur in the tour set-up.
And Andy Murray believes there aren't 'many better ways' for Federer to retire, pointing to his doubles match with Nadal as a 'cool end to an incredible career'.

You can feel the bromace between Rafa and Federer. Murray as usual is spot on, what a way to go for Fed, a suiting send off.

That 2008 final and 2019 final will be the two matches that really made me cry when Roger lost. But at the same time it showed how freaking damn great Nadal and Novak are as champions. Andy losing that Wimbledon final against Federer. Man the big 4 were damn special. When they all go tennis will have lost something real special. Can this standard ever be repeated!!

@@KainSwiss I love Murray, but we have to stop with this big 4 nonsense. Murray's got a negative h2h against Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic at 11-14, 7-17 and 11-25 respectively. In terms of Grandslam's, it's not even close; 22, 21, 20 and then there's Murray with 3. Sure, he's won two Olympic medals but that doesn't put him in the conversation. If Murray's in the conversation for big 4 then so is Wawrinka, and I don't think anyone's going to make that argument.

@@marctaddei7524 Yeah I get your point about Wawrinka, both him and Murray had more injuries also! but Murray regardless of even has beaten Federer 11 times, beat Nadal 9 times and Novak 11 times, Yes his Grandslam record could have been better, but he still smokes Stan Wawrinka against these lot. He was more consistent than him also! The big 4 was valid for it's time.
