I watched a documentary that's says the Antonia fortress held 10,000 men and that north west corner couldn't hold even hold a thousand. Claudius Josephus a first century historians describes the fort as being much greater then the temple. The dome of the rock, that sits in the center of the fort, is believed to be the place where Jesus possible stood when Pilot condemned Him to death.

I wonder what you would find if you removed those stones you are standing in front of, perhaps some ancient swords, coins, shields, maybe some bones and personal artifacts? Is this the same Herod that refused to bow in the presence of the Lord, and an Angel of God struck him down, causing him to be eaten by worms? Maybe his body was never found, but maybe still, ...a worm whose ancestors may have been there, may still be alive today, crawling some where beneath; Imagine that, to meet a worm and have the God given knowledge of knowing that it's ancestors chowed down on Herod! Also... I was thinking last night as I lay in bed, ...Some people believe that it is impossible to lose your Salvation, but I don't know about this thought! There is nothing impossible for God, not even to remove that which He has given. Who among us has the guts to tell God what He can and can't do? Do you think Nebuchadnezzar went to heaven, because after his 7 years living as a wild man, he acknowledged that God was in control of the kingdoms of men! It was such a beautiful statement that he made, that I had this thought, that perhaps he may be in heaven, whose to say, who is and who isn't, only God knows these things! I'm sure that 7 years had an impact on the rest of his life, never to forget the toils and hardships he had to endure!
