I remember watching this in 1988, aged 18..........(God i wish i was again). The only thing that stuck in my mind was when Bono cut that gobshite down for slagging U2 fans. He reminded me of all the stuck up A level students that i knew and who loved to condescend to us. The edit misses out the bit were the audience clapped loudly and almost cheered Bono for it. Great posting thanks.
I have been to many U2 concerts both in Dublin and Belfast. Not once did I see any trouble. Even the guards/cops were relaxed so what the hell was that guy talking about.
That was a show called the Late Late show in Ireland which everybody used to watch. A bit like the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Everybody used to watch it, old and young. The program was kinda geared to the whole country watching.
The guy at the beginning was very odd. The performance at the end moved me for some reason. It was probably the way Bono seemed to be getting into the music, and Adam's acoustic bass. :)
im a little confused how the audience is mostly older people but u2 is so young here.. like in their mid20s.. like.. wow i didnt know u2 had older fans when they were young themselves
I had forgotten how good this interview was.Its been so long since U2 have done any interviews in Ireland I don't know if its because they're not been asked or whether they won't do them.Maybe we will have to bring back Gay Byrne.
Reagan was no "war monger" as his detractors accused him of. As did Bono. Read the history of the cold war. Reagan was shocked that some of his advisors tough a nuclear war could be "won" and thought it was ok. Reagan secretly said he would actually never launch nukes. His detractors are basically idiots. The Bushes a re far more evil than Reagan
I remember watching this during its original Broadcast. I was 13 at the time. I'd just gotten interested in the Bass (Which I still play) and was watching Adam intently during the Song :-D
Cynicism is part of human Nature, but overly Cynical People can be very annoying, seem to try to find arguements in anything. That Guy at the Start was a bit annoying alright.
Larry is bursting with rhythm
Beautiful rendition of this John Lennon song.
Nice memories of how U2 used to be. . . . truly talented.
