    Darkdally,I actually have been using most of these since day 1.One time while playing with randoms,this guy complained that i don't use the HUD,hey,dont like it....Leave.The only thing I leave is ammo/item count.Now,id lose the ammo count,but sadly its connected with the item slots.Ive tried losing that,& im constantly forgetting which explosive i have picked,which leads to disaster... Besides, a soldier in real life knows,weather he has a frag or flash,in his hand.
    As far as the map,if im driving/flying,i assign someone as designated map person,solo,i quickly go back & forth between map & the road,sorta like looking at GPS on a laptop or phone,& police officers do that every day.
    I did start a new build.
    I roleplay him as having a long line of Airbourne in his family,He himself is an airbourne ranger(WWII mohawk),& utilizes light weapons,no drone.For his DMR,its a short barrel MK17,using either a MP5,or SASG-12,as secondary. I have Larry,Curlly,& Moe do long range sniping,especially since they can shoot like theyre banking pool balls on a table.
    As for sidearm, day 1,i used the USG,then LadyKiller.But now i use the P227,for a few reasons. 1,ive never been one that uses the "best" weapon in a game,because to me,thats subjective. Maybe on paper,this weapon,or that weapon is better,but if it doesn't feel comfortable to YOU,& you cant fire it well....Its shit. Just like woman, all,are good to somebody.
    2nd,i prefer the frame of the 227,its a lot more slender,& the sights feel good,where as the USG has a more....Hourglass figure(from behind,shooting 1st person).
    I like the sights too.Also,the sound it makes with/without the suppressor. And as i said,i like firing it,& pistols arent used for open combat,so damage isnt extremely important, its a backup weapon, & for close quarters.
    I use either the P12 or the 227 with my T2 character just fine with it still not upgraded.
    I use the P12 with my latest character.
    Fast travel, when playing with randoms,you have to,solo i dont,& ive always waited for the 3 stooges except when 1 or more get stuck,& wont get in/on the vehicle.
    Ive always changed my outfits,it just makes sense.One thing that would be nice,is if we could keep the paint jobs too.For example: pick your snow loadout,& your weapons automatically change to the snow camo you used when makings the loadout,instead of having to change every time the environments change.
    Ive also made it a point since day 1,to not allow myself to change weapons willie-nillie,i have to be at a safe house.One thing i did add though,is if its small enough to carry in a backpack, i can choose to have a 4th weapon.For example: The shorty shotgun,or MP7.They are both small & compact enough to fit in a pack.I do have to choose it before i leave base though.
    As far as having extra weapons in a vehicle, that only works if you use a vehicle you picked up at a safehouse,otherwise, if said vehicle is destroyed, your weapon is gone too....Until you go to another safehouse.

      Much of what you said is stuff I totally agree with and either had in this video, or the one I just posted yesterday, so yeah I'm totally on board with you. I also wish there was a thing I could toggle to have my weapons match my camo. I've always wanted that as well, and will probably have a video soon made from these comments as suggestions to Ubisoft for the next game, and that'll be in there along with what you said about it not showing your items with no hud. I agree that's stupid. of course I would know what I'm holding in my hand.
      I've also been using the P227 lately and I think it's my new fav right now. I do like the sights on it. And lastly, allowing the choosing of a 4th weapon is a really good idea, and i'll feature that in an upcoming vid for sure. Thanks man :)

    • @TheBuzzorca
      @TheBuzzorca 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Wene your changing explosives the hud should show and turn off after thats the only gripe i have with the game

    • @Dirtbag-Hyena
      @Dirtbag-Hyena 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      nick Buzzorca I watch this group called Real-Time Commanders,& they play with absolutely no HUD,& on multiple occasions they either,A throw the wrong one(which is what i was doing),or B take 10yrs to find the right one,& in the meantime either get shot,or is basically ineffective in the mission because hes just there trying to find the right one.
      Now i asked them,& 2 of them said they had the order memorized........Im lucky if i remember what i did 5min ago.
      Now,they are a team,so they play together, & practice together & i would say 8 outa 10x it works for them,but i have no team,& playing with randoms is a challenge. 9x outa 10,they never use a mic. Just wish they would seperate ammo count & items.

      drtbag39 Do you play on ps4? Me and my brother play with our huds off. We don't use the ammo crates until we get to a rebel base and we like to role play. It's hard but entertaining as well. We do use the emp drones for taking down convoys but we never use the medic drone. We have been trying to find like minded people because randoms just fast travel everywhere and it's no fun playi n with them.

      Everything Apocalypse What I absolutely hate is when your AI Team is just walking straight through the middle gunning people down and you go out to do the same an your AI Team turns invisible and the enemies only aim on you and only you especially when you are trying to heal up and they are just surrounding you from all sides and just forgetting about the AI and just getting you It's so annoying and that takes out the immersion a little bit

    Im not gunna lie, not fast traveling is great. This one time, i was driving around with my biddies in a jeep. Everything's nice and calm, and i have to rub my eyes. As soon as i look back, the jeep is up in flames, rolled over on its side and there's unidad literately everywhere suppressing us with lmg's. Shit hits the fan real damn quick in this game.

    Another one thing that I think should be mentioned - is that "Ghosts" are called so not because they are pro stealthy soldiers (take a look at GRAW:2 - it's not a stealth game), but because nobody lives long enough to tell that they have seen the "Ghosts". So when somebody approaches the former battlefied - all they see is the aftermath of the battle. But who have caused it? Nobody knows. It's like as if there were ghosts.

    • @Darkdally
      @Darkdally  6 ปีที่แล้ว +60

      thx man, never thought of it like that.

    • @CaptainOguretz
      @CaptainOguretz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +52

      You're welcome. I see too many people making the same mistake, thinking that they should never participate in open combat. But as for me, it simply creates something like a "no witnesses" rule, which implies that I can't leave a firefight until every single enemy is dead. I think it makes sense, because Ghosts aren't offically present in Bolivia. And they are a military force, so their presence can be viewed as military agression towards Bolivia (especially given the fact that there are a lot of encounters between Ghosts and Unidad - Bolivia's military). Therefore Ghosts' actions are blamed upon rebels or cartel.
      So whenever an enemy patrol notices me, I don't try to hide. I may run to a better cover/rebel outpost/ammo box etc., but I feel like it's my responsibility to "take care" of this guys, even if they eventually lose me. And I like telling myself "These guys are gonna be very sorry they've seen me". Cause, you know, I'm a Ghost. I just can't allow it to happen

    • @RushInNinja
      @RushInNinja 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Well they are operators though. Trained for open combat, and do engage in it. The preference though is to be swift, silent, and deadly. The best way for people not to know you're there is that they don't hear or see you. Even the Ghost can't be sure that they have killed everyone in an engagement. Thus silent execution until they have no choice is always there mandate.

    • @CaptainOguretz
      @CaptainOguretz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Yeah, but stealth combat is not always possible. Again, take a look at Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter: 2. You'll notice that this game is anything but a stealth action shooter. I remember asking myself the same question - why are they called "Ghosts", if they are not that stealthy? Then I realised, after replaying the game and hearing the conversation between a HMMWV driver and Mitchell. There were in-game news about Mexican army taking a bridge or something like that (which was actually cleared out by the Ghosts), and the driver said: "Wow. Just like you don't exist". Mitchell answered: "Because we don't. We're Ghosts". And then it downed on me. Then I realised, what's the point of having "Destroy fleeing vehicle" as an additional task.
      Anyway, my point is that people tend to get the meaning of the name of this game (Ghost Recon) wrong. Thus they wrongly assume that stealth is the only option, while combat is only for those, who failed to operate stealthy. But it's not true, you're given a choice, and there is nothing bad in open combat engagements, and it should not break the immersion

    • @eduardomendoza888
      @eduardomendoza888 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      We thought exactly the same thing, and when I play GRAW2 I love that conversation because that words represent what is to be a Ghost. And in Wildlands too times they say things like they never take the credit for what they do, because they can't, they don't exist.
      When the enemy spot me I don't try to hide like many others, I just kill them all in a firefight because they cant live to tell what happened.
      I have all Ghost Recon Game since Ghost Recon 2 (Xbox and Gamecube versión), love all this games.

    Personally, what I find really fun on Extreme difficulty, is playing with one other friend and having one use the drone while the other goes through the bases. The player on the drone will give orders, telling the player in the base where they can go and who they can shoot while remaining undetected.

    Might be late to the party, but what I do is:
    1. Started my current gameplay out with my whole squad fully decked out in uniform Crpyptek Mandrake outfits and as their mission goes on they alter it by donning polos as their Jackets rip or helmets get lost/shot up, etc.
    2. I don’t carry two long primaries at the same time, I know it’s done irl, been that mule myself, but I always found it less fitting to carry a LMG and a sniper rifle at the same time. No matter how spec op tacticool this game has you be.
    3. wish I could hide my ammo count without losing knowledge of my equipped explosives.

  • @aarontucker6236
    @aarontucker6236 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    On my second and third playthroughs, I've come up with a couple immersive playstyles that have made the game incredibly fun.
    1. Sniper team run-through: Find a friend to play co-op. Set the difficulty to the highest level and turn off the HUD. Limitations: One player is bolt-action Sniper and Pistol only. One Player can carry an SMG in addition to a short barreled sr25, G28 or similar. After gathering your ideal loadout, play straight through the story mode. No weapon changes. No drones. No rebel support of any kind, just two bros taking down El Sueno from long range.
    2. The predator run-through: For this one, I like to use my pistol primarily followed by the super shorty and a rotating unsilenced third weapon. The goal is to to remain "undetected" (ensure no-one sees you personally, they can hear your shots or notice your effects), kill from close range, and inspire as much terror as possible. Sneak around and kill those who stray from the group. Shoot out the lights. Release rebels. call sync shots on nearby unidad and cartel to start fights, while you "intervene" to even the odds. Go loud on someone in a building, displace and come up behind whoever investigates with the super shorty from point blank. Leave bodies to find while you lurk in the shadows. Clear a compound without a single shot fired from the other side. The possibilities are endless when it's not just about clearing the compound, but about making sicarios shit their pants.

  • @hooty6699

    One immersion trick i used for splinter cell blacklist that I've carried to wildlands is to only suppress weapons with effective subsonic ammo. These games make most any suppressed gun scary quiet, despite the "noise reduction" stat. The reality is that any supersonic ammo, even through suppressor, is loud af. 5.56 i only run loud. 7.62x39 I'll run suppressed, but 7.62x51 I'll run loud. Limits weapon choices for a stealth-focussed approach. Combining this with only using a single primary weapon per mission makes it challenging.

    Alright so, my character's role is an explosive specialist. Now what I do differently here is when I decide to place a demo block, I holster my weapons, crouch down, and do that rp pretend bomb planting fun, instant immersion... also play on extreme with only ammo counter on and interaction junk. The game gets intense, I have a rule that I am only allowed to rearm, change gear, and unlock skills etc at a rebel Outpost. Very fun, unfortunately I wish the bullet ballistics were much more realistic instead of every ammo type behaving like subsonic ammunition.

I was sniping with it from around 100 meters or more so I wasn't heard and I used melee takedowns upon entry as much as possible, but once I got noticed, only having that sweet sweet 50AE got my heart pumping. I couldn't just one shot helicopters with my HTI, they were now an actual threat. I'd definitely recommend trying that. Especially because one shotting most enemies even when they're alerted feels so good with the deagle.

    Another thing is you never carry an assault rifle with a sniper. Carry a sub machine gun. Any sniper in real life won’t carry an assault rifle because it’s too heavy.

    What I like about the car rule with immersion is how you can drive to a vantage point, scout a base, edit your loadout to fit the situation in the car (which I think would be rather realistic) and then use said car to get closer to the objective before assaulting it

    After playing through multiple saves,what I did was:
    1) *START STEALTHY* for most of the gameplay. No big changes in character but rather just overall gameplay. Using silencers most of the time, no going guns blazing in every combat, and using my squad for sync kills. Which is what many first timers would probably do.
    2) *APPEARANCE.* Normally i would just outfit my squad and I to appear more "civilian friendly" but also it doesn't hurt to try other styles. For me:
    -Black camo(Not completely black but just so it blends with the environment at night especially)
    -White Camo Pattern
    -Desert Camo (both for areas that have a lot of bright colors and shades especially on the west side of the map with salt/cocaine mines and the dirt roads kinda blending with the environment there)
    -The Navy Blue Camo Pattern is ok but not entirely great for gameplay since many of the terrain has a Rainforest setting.
    -"Ghillie Up" the squad. Have a different Gillie suit for each member of the squad including you but have the camo be the same. Especially if you want a more stealthy feel to the gameplay. Makes me feel like I'm playing Act II in CoD 4 sometimes. It's also great if you want to try a stealthy to the gameplay and I highly recommend trying it with the realistic mode(refer back to 1) )
    -And ofc I gave that US Marines look with mainly desert camo which I can assume many have done.
    3) *DON'T USE ANY REBEL TACTICS/OPS* Even if it's to call in a vehicle. Make it challenging and use just your squad and release captured rebels from their cells. For vehicles, I'd just steal/hijack a car/plane/Heli/etc.
    No Rebel Ops. No Diversions, No Guns for Hire, No Recons, No Vehicle Drop-offs and *GASP* NO MORTAR STRIKES(U can grab rebel ops bc ik the game kinda forces you to so you can let that slide a bit but you cannot use it is all)
    4) *NO FAST TRAVELING.* Now before you go apeshit on me, Yes ik. Wtf is wrong with me. It's bullshit and it's so dumb and makes the game feel slow. But i did this with other games and again used other means of transportation (I did this a bit with other open-world games such as Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Fallout, and pretty much any games with fast traveling abilities). For me I just enjoyed riding in the Jeep or armored vehicles listening to the radio all over the map driving around and exploring the map with the mountains and such.
    There are probably other ways out there people tried both Co-op and single player but these are just what I tried

    Here are some good tricks for immersion:
    Cowboy hats
    Predator helmets especially the ones with dreads
    Arcade mode
    Tactical used by real military predator wrist blades
    Exclusively play the predator mission over and over
    Predator fan t-shirt

    No minimap with no enemy marking at extreme difficulty using a drone and binocular as your assistance is the best immersion experience. A sniper and pistol with keeping your teammates at hold.
    It increases your mission time but still worth playing for a few big stealthy missions.

  • @northernninety7
    @northernninety7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    1. Remove the suppressor option from your rifle so it forces you to use your suppressed pistol for stealth.
    2. Don't upgrade skills that reduce bullet damage or that improve squad abilities. It forces you to get better.
    3. Use real life logic. For example, the enemy detection range isn't that far but pretend it is. Land your helo a far away and hike to the location.
    4. Use creative methods of completing missions. Have a specific plan. Instead opening fire on a convoy right away, stalk it with a helo and set up an ambush way up the road.
    5. Pistol only.
    6. Dress like a civilian as if youre blending in.
    7. Travel by foot. I do this a lot.
    8. Pretend that detection leads to failure.
    9. Do your missions at night.
    10. Discover things without intel.

    A bit into the game after i got good and comfortable with the play style i looked up all the weapons and equipment i wanted because i think in real life an operator would be able to spec out what parts and weapons they want for their mission. When I beat the game, I like to dress me and my squad up like insurgents or rebels, since you can customize your AI teammates now. I dress them up according to the weapon they are using, and I got max upgrades for rebel support. I'll pick a town, using some common weapons that guards might be using with some default colors, then skirmish around a base to antagonize the enemy. When they call in backup, then I call in backup, they get a mortar, I get a mortar. Escalation of a battle! It's really immersive and fun when fighting UNIDAD because they tend to have unlimited backup. Sometimes you can actually beat them fast enough that they bug out and quit sending backup so you can actually win a "battle" and claim a rebel victory, then take some looted vehicles, guns, and such and head to the next town and call in your backup again there as a "convoy". It's a sort of immersive rebel experience that's fun to do. It's even more fun if you get binoculars and issue out orders to your AI and call support to attack an enemy base, dressed as an officer. VERY fun! It turns into a strategy, and I make it a rule to retreat if my squads start getting wiped out (they respawn after a long timer if not revived or you get too far away) then try again!
    EDIT: Sometimes rebels and Santa Blanca or UNIDAD meet on the road, and you can escalate a situation from those too for an immersive civil war experience. Kind of like how scouting parties in real wars run into each other, call in support, and it escalate to a small battle or bigger. Just another addition to how I mess around with this. Really makes you wish you could get a mod like this for the game if you get into it.

    Great tips! I would like to add one more: Discover (i.e. reveal the real names to replace the question marks of) locations by visiting them instead of using binoculars or drone; let those question marks on tac-map remind you which places have been visited and explored and which ones have not. This provides a great experience of exploration.
    In my first playthrough, I used bino and drone a lot to reveal locations and I ended up forgetting which places I have visited or not, so in later playthroughs I restrict myself not to do that anymore.

    Our TF focuses on playing it in the style of a simulation. No hud. We take the time to scout mission locations, hike (walking) sometimes for miles to our destination, then pulling back to extraction when done. And we have a variety of members for nearly every role, and we operate on a weekly basis (in part because we only get to play about once a week). The officers dictate where we are hitting the enemy and why. We kind of make our own story. And it isn't limited to co-op. One person might be given a specific mission to do with his team in single player, and sometimes multiple teams are sent to hit multiple story missions for example. Or we may only have 2 players, for example, a sniper and his spotter for a surveillance/assassination mission. We've officially beaten the game once, but on our second playthrough we've been going for weeks and barely touched the main story. In between major assignments (story missions) we set up patrols, clear villages, do intel and surveillance, etc. Some objectives are in the game (intel, convoys) but some we set ourselves. We use real-world tactics (3 of our 7 members are former marines) and even use the game's equivalent of actual loadouts/uniforms. It's been terribly fun, even when we went off script for the predator hunt. I think we will be playing for a while yet. As long as you can create your own story and objectives the game has endless potential.

    Incredible tips, I started using the pistol now and it has been pretty fun; another tricks which I use for immersion are trying to wear a similar outfit and equipment of my native country army, and simulating me contacting with my base that I'm starting my operation

  • @havenlewis5913
    @havenlewis5913 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good ideas. I'd like to add things I did as well:
    Play Ghost mode - Ghost mode has permadeath. You can only carry a single primary weapon and a pistol. Since this is the case, I buy weapons packs. If I die I can still use my loadout, spec ops guys deploy with whatever they need. So I don't need to hunt or find weapon items to be immersed, if anything it's unrealistic. It also makes loadout changes impossible unless you are around a weapons crate.
    Use your assault rifle as your sniper rifle - Since you can only use one primary weapon, I use the assault rifle class in semi-auto with the digital scope, long barrel and suppressor. (Like the mk12 or mk17 in real life.) You carry more ammo this way and your shots can still reach out to 300 meters accurately without having to guess too much as to where the drop will go. Also suppressed assault rifles make less sound than suppressed sniper rifles. I really think it covers all bases except for when certain missions require shooting lots of rounds, in which case I use machineguns. I also equip the assault rifle with a grenade launcher in case I catch a helicopter's attention.
    Run away from fire fights - Since Ghost mode has permadeath, and since you realistically wouldn't want to get shot at all or be outnumbered in a firefight, when I get seen I immediately run and hide until they go back to their positions. I only kill alerted enemies when it's required.
    Do not kill everyone in the base to accomplish the mission - Recon takes a long time and patience. Doing things the right way to avoid that permanent death will make each mission take longer, but feel more tense and real. When you tag the enemies and get a good idea of where the mission parameters are and what to do, plan the safest way to accomplish the mission. This usually means planning which enemies to kill, getting in, completing objectives and leaving without being caught.
    Hump (walk) all your routes and fast travel when necessary - This list said to not fast travel, and I understand why. However, flying helicopters, driving vehicles, staying near roads in general is very risky when permadeath exists. So what I usually do is I avoid vehicles whenever I can, fast travel to the nearest point that I can in relation to my mission and walk a direct path to the area while avoiding roads and enemies.
    Play this mode with friends - Your NPC crew in single player don't really do much unless there is a firefight. However playing Ghost mode with a friend or friends will make each mission more of a method of team work. It's far more fun this way. And you can give each member a different role if you wanted to. For example: I have two PS4s, two TVs and a digital copy of this game on each. I play both of them at the same time. I play online with a friend going into the bases with one profile and I have a Designated Marksman in a gillie suit posted up with a suppressed semi-auto .50 cal sniper rifle on some high ground or in a good hiding spot where he can see the majority of the area that the team mates will be operating. If the enemies get suspicious and start to surround the team making their way through the base, this character starts lobbing .50 BMG rounds at them and suddenly they are far more worried about the sniper that's 400-600m away taking them out than they are my team hiding somewhere. You don't have to have two PS4s to do this however, just you and your friends cycle out who will be DMR support each mission.
    I would also reiterate using binoculars instead of the drone unless you REALLY need to. I would say the time to break this habit is when they are searching for you.

      Damien Lusk you don’t understand why it catches a lot of flack? You gotta be kidding me, Maybe because the biggest complaint about the game is the nonsensical AI, that’s a huge issue in the game right there. Anyone who plays this game enough is aware of the issues by just simply playing the game. It’s a great game and has a lot of fun elements for sure. But come on, how do you play this game unaware of its issues and the reasons for those that do complain about it? I’ve never understood how people play games with inconsistent issues and gameplay that sometimes doesn’t make sense in a military tactical shooter and still not understand the flack it takes for it. I love this game but I’m totally aware of its shortcomings that can make anyone aggravated by..

      Emmanuelle Rodriguez Understanding and awareness are 2 different things. I experience alot of bugs and issues in the game from getting stuck in the air mid parachute to the game crashing whenever I quit to main menu from PvP. I'm aware of the issues, but it doesn't mean that I have to understand why people think so badly of the game. After all, nothing is perfect and it's a game not a mil sim, ARMA itself started off with horrible A.I.

    I think it’s always great just to keep a load out specific to what you love or even a step further, one that makes sense with a military group you want to portray, not only that but I always play on the hardest difficulty and refuse to do story missions until I have collected all intel and all the weapons, pasts and medals in every zone, so basically I want to know everything before I go in (as you would if it were real) I was surprised that I used most things suggested, but I don’t change outfits because I know you only get issued one uniform and any other requirements, very rare that you’d get extra uniform for multiple terrains, but that’s just my standpoint on immersion in the game, that and trying to go for the most ridiculous stealth or full blown insanity.

Ive gone more for a "Collateral Damage"/"Punisher" type of style where my characters family died in a shootout between rival drug gangs, gets stone walled by authorities and heads out to Bolivia for vengeance on his own. I make contact with rebels, get introduced to Pac, who says going at it alone is suicide and allows 3 of his expendable men to act as guides, translators and support. I didnt even use N.V until I cleared a big enough Unidad base where I believed you would find something like that in their Armory. Having a good imagination in this game can work wonders for its longevity.

    I often make a rule that only the pistol can have a silencer just for fun. I enjoy the sound of the heavy bolt action sniper rifles. Very satisfying to land a 500m shot with out the silencer

    I've played the game for 4 hours or so and Instantly wanted more realism. With the red blobs of enemies, drone, weapons swapping on the move, vehicle drops, etc. It's just too easy, not rewarding. I'm definitely going to make some changes

    I’m surprised on one mentioned going semi-auto only as in real combat you wouldn’t use full auto in 90% circumstances if you don’t want bullets flying everywhere. And thank god this game allows you to take down an enemy with one or two shot in general. Also semi-auto gives me much more accuracy than my friend who I play with

    Awesome video! Stuff like this is why I bought my first Ghost Recon game (my wife got me Wildlands and Breakpoint for Valentines Day). When I was playing a lot of Red Dead 2, I would play it like a cowboy simulator (Hollywood version albeit) but this game scratches so many tacticool itches I have as someone who can’t afford multiple rifles and plate carriers IRL. Awesome video!

    My canonical justification for fast travel is that I’m not just warping from place to place, but I call in for rebel transport to one of their camps or a city. They pick us up in a helicopter or a van and take us where we need to go, and we get to take a breather while we ride and it saves us time and energy.

    Totally agree. I didn’t think many people appreciated this style of play like myself, because games nowadays usually seem to be a race to the finish. But because of the stealth and military aspect, I truly believe this is how the game should be played to do it justice. Even the developers knew that this would be an ideal way of play, hence the ability to turn all of the aforementioned features off (like HUD, etc.) I think you broke it down well - some of these I knew of and agreed with, and some I didn’t. But all in all, I can appreciate the perspective and the time you took to make the video. Thanks

    Late to the party, because I only just started playing this game for the first time. What I appreciate though, is that I am not the only one who already plays like the way you have suggested. I hate "cheating" and like to play as I imagine a real soldier would experience. When I play an open world game, I end up exploring every section of the map and take time to walk a lot for the complete immersive experience. I want to get every single cents worth out of my investment.

    Sorry if you hate it, but this game is objectively poorly designed. Does that mean it's a bad game? No. Not particularly. But you can't deny the following:
    Camo doesn't matter
    Silencers don't matter
    AI pathfinding is bad
    AI in general is bad
    The story is a sub-par cliche with an anticlimactic ending
    Narco road dlc is bad and overpriced (subjective)
    The game was falsely advertised to show "player choice" when doing missions, but instead you're tasked to do specific things with specific people. Almost all of the targets you don't kill. As a ghost, shouldn't you be doing your job and interrogating them yourself and then reporting intel to whatsherface? Why am I forced to kidnap someone and steal a helicopter, fight through waves of enemies that now know who I am and bring them back to a shack on top of a mountain? Makes no sense.
    Ubisoft had so much potential with this game and yet they still... yet again, fucked up.

      All pretty true, but I really enjoy the game. As I've played and found each small thing that disappoints me, I've found more things along the way that are enjoyable enough that I really just have fun. There's always going to be something to knit-pick. I prefer just to have fun. Thanks man :)

      Darkdally I agree, I can definitely have fun with the game. But I can't deny that there's many times when I play that frustrate me because of how much potential it had and how little Ubisoft actually did right. I still like it though. For the most part.

      Only one thing, suppressors do lower the noise of weapons making your shots harder for enemies to hear. They do matter, in a realistic way. The fact you called them silencers exposes your lack of knowledge regarding their real life properties.

      Rectus Rectumius The fact that you called them suppressors shows your lack of knowledge in what they're actually called. There is no silencer vs suppressor debate. They are silencers, period. Patent US1482805: "Silencer for guns", filed by Hiram Maxim on February 21, 1921.

    This is badass. A lot of these I have done since day one, and it's great to see others doing the same. This is exactly how games should be played, it's about using your imagination, being creative and building immersion through your own personal play style. This generation, consumers now, they get everything handed to them on a plate. People bitch and moan a lot in today's gaming society, nothing is ever good enough, and it's a real shame. You just need to look a little deeper and go out of your way and find what games truly have to offer, and make it your own. Love this video dude, you've got a sub.

    If a game requires you to self impose your own rules, then it's effectively broken as a game. I own this game too and it's a complete mess as far as the game rules are concerned. I'm glad you made this video, but I wish the game just worked to begin with.

      Maxx Golbraykh That's stupid fucking logic. Flawed greatly. GTA V is fun because theres so much shit to do... You could impose rules and role play or etc. Imposing your own rules to make the game a little more challenging or enjoyable doesn't mean the game is broken. You're a moron if you think that's the case. Different people have different play styles and play games differently. A game can't tailor to everyone's tastes. By imposing one's own rules you tailor your game to how you want to play yourself.

    • @Lorkanthal
      @Lorkanthal 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Darkdally,
    I used first trick since i started play this game and not only on me. I created whole presets for all for members of my group. First for like civilian operations. Second for sniper forest camo. Third one is my night spec-ops armor. Fourth is my jungle/ vietnam gear and last one is for snow operations. I used pistols for almost every close range fights only if I am undetected because then my only hope to kill enemy quicly is my favorite primary weapon M4A1. And that's another trick that you talked about. My primary M4A1 was never repainted. Still only in primary black with most scratches as it could have. My usage of drone was strickted only for it's visual recon and never used rebel scouting recon. And with my friends we play this game as tactical as we can.

    My favorite immersion technique is the limited hud on higher difficulty. Not having a reticle and mini map on screen makes it seem so much more realistic. I also only look down sights in first person if I have to make a really precise shot at a long distance. Other than that, I only use the third person POV. Also, using only skill and the laser sight on a pistol to clear a base and drop enemies just feels so badass. Play without the reticle. Best way to play thru this game. Makes it feel 100 times better. Eventually, you’ll be able to headshot an enemy from ten yards in third person with a handgun just off feel and the laser. Best feeling ever.

  • @GunnerM60

    Some of these immersion tactics i used when i played through the first time. And I like all of them you said in your video and I'm going to pair them with the extreme difficulty. I think that will get me as close to realistic combat scenario as possible.

    I usually do these kinds of stuff in every game I play and I'm enjoying it so much! Several of my online friends are playing through an open world game in like 30 hours and I'm here playing 100+ hours and still have lot of stuff left to do. The experience is so much better when you relax, enjoy the game and make some things a bit more realistic.

    Yes! I have already been doing many of these tips! I got with Binocular Recon first then if I didn't find everyone I'll use drone. or just use the drone to plan my entry and exfil route. Great series and yeah I change costumes for Nomad and the team with every environment change. I actually use a civilian casual wear for when I'm just driving/flying from point A to B with no intentions of attacking.

    I used to force similar rules on my first playthrough back at launch on the Ps4, never finished it though, because the guys I was playing with moved on to play something else. Recently started a new campaign on the PC and felt the game lacking on the immersion side (aside from the difficulty setting) and forgot all about these tricks (aside from the outfits per use case). So thanks for a couple of tips, both in the video as in the comments, to make this game way more interesting! I just wish they had a settings menu for the Ghost mode, like disabling loadout changes out in the wild, to add a couple of things without having to go full on perma death, single gun haywire (and yeah, that way it shouldn't count towards tiers)

    You could take a couple of these a whole step further.
    I set up all of my special outfits with realistic camo and gear, all Multicam and BDU, all realistic gear. The only difference between them are their patches and headgear. It feels like everyone is there to do a job as opposed to running around on civilian clothing feeling like cowboys.
    I do tan camo only. I don't switch between going to the jungle or desert. Tan works fine.
