Ofc, Sayla has a major role in the much more recent Gundam Origin OVA series, but that was a pre-MSG prequel.

I find CCa weird. Like it makes it seem like sequel to the original mobile suit Gundam rather than Zeta or ZZ. I like seeing Amuro dominating in his prime, but everything else was meh

Kamille definitely should have been in CCA. I think Tomino decided to remove him for practical purposes as no way Kamille will be in there without alloting ample screen time for him and Char’s interactions. They share a bond greater than that of Char and Sayla his sister. That will slow the plot down and will ultimately lead to a bad movie ala F91. That said, CCA should have been a 10 episode OVA like StardustMemory was.
oh actually, in original drafts Kamille was planned for Counterattack...he was suppose to Char's righthand man with his mind repaired with cyber newtype tech that was suppose to make him more erratic then he was before...then Tomino pulled back on this idea realizing it was a really cruel fate for Kamille and the character Gyunei was created to be that role instead...
Honestly it works better that he's not in cca. I can suspend disbelief with Char's actions since my headcanon is that seeing Kamille "die" was his reason for snapping and wanting to kill earth. It wouldn't make any sense if he knew Kamille was awake and doing well.

He is the best developed character for me in all of gundam with Char being close second and Mr Burger from war in the pocket being third. Its just that it was not possible within the confines of a 2 hour movie. Again CCA should have been a short series so that they could have included Kamille in it but not as an apprentice to Char but as a civilian who eventually Londi bell had to ask to come so he can talk to Char. Im thinking Char ended up sacrificing himself to push the asteroid when he saw that Kamille was alive. Him and Amuro died anyways just like in the movie. That would be a better redemption arc instead of Char saying “Lalah could have been my mother and you took him from me”..bs..

Despite some of the hokie humor and early inconsistencies there are fairly compelling relationships and both outro-introspective character arcs that are relevant to UC. Some themes tie into Gundam Unicorn and Moon Gundam with link to Thunderbolt. Finally, imo the lead up to ZZ finale is better paced than Zeta's final few episodes

okay.. first, OYW, their first meeting as white devil and red comet, doesnt leave cliffhanger, just to wipe out Zeon-Zabi (Amuro`s doing, but Char agree to wipe out them too) second, Z Gundam, their both share their hate for EF (Titans) but when Zeon (Hamaan) revival showed up, Char got wreck badly, their AEUG basically disband after the three way war third, ZZ, no2, why Char doesnt show up because Artesia said that he`s gathering power, and he would show up later (CCA) its not a good set up, but it is set up for that (and the fact that Tomino wanted to do a movie, so his scrapping his idea to put Char or Amuro in it) as for Camille, its better he have a happy life, his life simply destroyed after he`s crashing Scirocco and beside, the CCA just want to close Amuro and Char rivalry, no other protag involved (i believe some are joining to stop axis, but it never confirmed it)

In canon, this is the last time we saw him, so i guess you could assume that. There is a non canon manga from the 90s has a cameo of him and he became a doctor on the moon with Fa as his nurse, since there's no canon indication otherwise a lot of fans just go with that.
If kamille got involved CCA would have probably been a lot shorter, he knows both amuro and char, he's a stronger newtype than both and is probably interested in peace.

Sayla actually is mentioned ONCE in CCA when Char recalls Lalah’s death in 0079, but it’s easy to miss since he uses her birth name, Artesia.

There is none. It goes straight to Char's Counterattack that has two variant manga stories that differ from each other according to Wikipedia.
