Wow Ken amazing speakers love the Count Basie on those speakers wow sounds so live and the Great Jazz trio one of my favorite records by that trio with Hank Jones and another favorite is the Hank Mobley record wow, love SET amps, my favorite 2a3, enjoy Eddie in Brooklyn...🎶🎵🎶🎷🥁🎹
Nice recording Ken!. I heard these at the store and they blew me away. Steve played me Count Basie, an electronica piece (sorry can’t remember the name) and Curtis Mayfield. I’ve never heard such a gigantic sound. The dynamics, bass, and presence were pretty unreal. Best system I’ve ever heard.
Great video, Ken. Very live sounding, your microphone did a decent job. Basie band was in the room, as well as Don Cherry & Ed Blackwell…….Ed’s drums sounded great! The rest was great as well…..you only need a Soho loft for the speakers!👍🥁👌
Even through the compression of TH-cam that came off sounding great. I wonder if you had a chance to listen to anything else besides brass heavy jazz? What does that system sound like with a delicate piano, or driving Rock, or electronica?
There is more than brass heavy jazz in this video. There is Brazilian music, a jazz duo, jazz Quartet led by saxophone. But this system sounds equally great playing anything
How is one to tell the quality of a speaker system recorded in a phone, compressed by TH-cam, and served out digitally to other phones? I never got this type of video.
Recorded using a DJ Osmo three which has a very good built-in microphone. I suggest you play this back on a pair of good computer speakers, not a phone. Even without any of that, if you listen closely, you will hear the high Fidelity of the speakers even through an iPhone.
I agree with Ken. Your brain (or at least my brain) performs a kind of iPhone discount that allows you to appreciate great sonics even though you are not literally hearing them. Btw the Elis & Tom (a terrific record) did not sound as good to me as the instrumentals.
@ Yeah OK sure, it beats physics. That makes me doubt all of your speaker reviews I've read. That space is only good for slow singing church choirs and long drawn organ notes.
Nice selection of music but I only know that because I listen to these records at home on my own sound system. Your video is good for eye candy but not listening.
These would be like sitting in a jazz club. Works of art. But they look the price. Some vintage horn speakers are very affordable and sound like you are there. Dynamism and naturalness are their qualities imo. I must confess that I admire all the vintage creations of Paul Klipsch. I do not like the products the company makes in China. Day and night.
End game stuff.......great choice of music too Ken. Thank you for sharing.

Great presentation! I so wish i could afford this stuff. Although I live in senior housing so unfortunately I'm limited on how loud I can play music.

Thanks for showing us something most of us will never see, much less hear!
wow! Ken you did it again, great, great vidéo.
Wow that drumsolo from Tony Williams sounds amazing
Fantastic demonstration and choice !! Thanks a million !
Absolutely stunning!!! Once again Mr Ken, a time travel that always exceeds my expectations.

Sounds good
Cool video, thx!
Even on an iPhone it’s easy to hear the stunning quality on tap. Thanks for posting What was the rest of the system Ken?

great video! May I ask what are those acoustic elements in the middle of the speakers?
Astounding even with the reverb. I hate to ask but how much are these?
$170,000
Wow! Ok, I guess I’ll keep my Klipsch Cornwall…
The echo in his room from his spoken voice was massive. Room treatment before you spend a penny on speakers.
@@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 Where do I sign?
They sound so dynamic!

Don’t mean to be snarky-I genuinely don’t understand the point of this.

Yowsa!
Nice. What Cartridge was installed on the AMG ?

The reverb in that room is looong and strong, judging by the sound of your voice. No speaker can sound good in that space.
That speaker sounds incredible and that space
@ Yeah OK sure, it beats physics. That makes me doubt all of your speaker reviews I've read. That space is only good for slow singing church choirs and long drawn organ notes.
Definitely apparent on the Jobim vocal track but instrumental tracks sounded very nice. Interesting how our ears/head processes sound.
The room sounds very reverberant, or is it your mic? Makes me doubt the whole vid.
Totally off target 🎯
A very large room. Good microphone.
@ A very large very reverberant room is only good for church choirs and long drawn organ notes.
Ditch the mic!
Uhmm Ken? Slapback echo in that room is brutal, over this recording anyway
I'd get a headache pretty quick in that room with horn speakers.
@@67Pepper Maybe Ken is going to show the owners comments😊
@@louiesipes2257 anyone can comment.
@ with any speakers
Can you play free jazz next? Or electronic music
Ahhh sorry I didn’t see you play don cherry, but i’m curious with the more hard hitting free jazz like the esp-disk stuffs
@@rezadwiarianto9511 sorry not planning on doing that again
Amazing

Wonderful dynamics, I’m not a fan of the tonality though
It's called horn coloration and there's plenty of it here.
