This is a highly insightful video, Ken, and I appreciate how comprehensively you delved into the process of UX design. I couldn't agree more with your argument that there's no 'one-size-fits-all' approach to UX design and that its effectiveness relies heavily on the specifics of each project, such as scope, goals, user needs, and resources.
The Four Pillars concept you introduced (Prove Success, Co-Create Effectively, Delight Users, and Solution Sustainably) offers a solid framework for designers to approach their UX process with more adaptability, balancing the need for a structured approach and the necessity for flexibility and creativity.
I particularly resonate with the emphasis you've placed on collaboration with business stakeholders. UX design is indeed a team effort, and I believe that its success is contingent on the amalgamation of perspectives and ideas.
The analogy of balancing tastes in a recipe was an effective illustration of the multifaceted nature of UX design. It's clear that just like the balance of flavors is key to a successful dish, the balance between user needs, business objectives, technical feasibility, and future scalability is key to a successful design.
Also, your comment on the risk of creating 'design debt' gave me pause. It's something often overlooked but can have significant implications if not addressed proactively.
All in all, this video does an excellent job elucidating the nuanced and dynamic nature of UX design. I'm excited to incorporate these Four Pillars into my approach to UX design. Looking forward to more content like this!
