A year later and you’re still helping people quit. I’ve been addicted for the last 5 years. I started at 15 and never thought I’d be addicted. It was just something I did when I was with my friends and it looked at it like it was just a high to have fun with every now and again. 5 years fast forward I’ve got lung issues I never thought I’d have considering I was one of the top runners on my high school track team. Nicotine completely stripped away my interest in everything around due to getting my quick dopamine fixes from it. I’m still addicted and I’ve found things I want to pursue in life but I have so little motivation. I want to play in the nba one day buy nicotine completely strips away the effort I put into it. I’ve tried quitting multiple times and I think the longest I’ve gone is 5 days. But you know what, today is the day. I’m no longer going to let nicotine control my decisions. I’m no longer going to let these nicotine companies make me their good little consumer and money maker. I’m going to live for me and fight for my future.

20 days without my 'best friend' nicotine. The main reason I decided to quit was the grip the addiction had over my emotions and choices everyday. It becomes harder and harder to take your spirituality and self worth seriously when you are knowingly feeding the dark side of you each day.

This video helped me quit. I'm on day 7 right now. I'm 21 and I've been vaping for a year. For the most part I was vaping 50-59mg/ml. I didn't think I would get addicted but I slowly went from a pod a week to a pod every 2 days. Quitting off of that cold turkey was tough but doable. Day 4 was the best day. The contrast of how I felt from that day compared to day 3 was amazing. Day 2 and 3 were awful. I felt tired and like I had the flu. Now 7 days in, I still get tired occasionally but I feel good knowing I'm not far from feeling normal again.
My concern is this anxiety I have that I'm going to miss vaping forever. I struggle to come up with more cons that outweigh the pros of quitting. I really enjoy nicotine with my coffee while I drive to school. Regardless, hearing your reasons for quitting and reading the comments of people who vaped a lot more than me for many more years gives me hope that it's possible to quit for good. Thanks for making this video.

      @rytisliaucys3444 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

That is the biggest mistake quitters make. Do not deprive yourself of social occasions like bars and such because you are afraid it wont be as good anymore and might trigger you to relapse. Instead, remember: you gave up nothing, but a poison. When people/friends start puffing, tell yourself: "how wonderful I dont need to be a slave to it anymore". These people as much as they might deny it, they ENVY YOU! They WISH they could go and enjoy a beer without choking themselves ever 5 minutes. So hold your head high!

I’m 14 years old. I started vaping when I was 12, I never inhaled the smoked till a week after I had one. I was only using 20mg of nic and transitioning to 50 mg (same as a cigarette) around 13 years old I was fully addicted to vaping. I have gotten in trouble with nicotine products in 7th grade and when I was in 8th I was expelled. When I got expelled from middle school I had no where to get my vape pods. My mom smokes cigarettes and I had to take a few of hers to get my fix. Now I am on cigarettes smoking 3 times a day and I want to stop. I wake up and Cough at night and every time I run or being really active I start choking up. The really sad thing about it is I used to be number one in my school as fast as students and I completely ruined it by starting nicotine. It is a crazy hard trail and it is not easy to get off. But I am happy to say now I am no longer addicted to nicotine

27 year old here, I'm on day 4 with 0 nicotine. I went cold turkey off of like 300ml of 3mg juice per month. I didn't quit because of your video, but it is certainly helping motivate me today as I'm going through peak withdrawals. That's a lovely point you make about it distracting you from things you should be able to easily enjoy. That's actually a big reason I'm quitting. I went to an NBA game a few weeks ago and after an hour I could barely enjoy it because I needed my "fix". I went to see Spiderman and yet again, after an hour or so it was unenjoyable because I needed stupid nicotine. I felt chained to it. I felt like it was controlling my life. Now, even though I'm having withdrawals and it isn't fun, I can't help but think how much better this is when compared to a lifetime of addiction. Thank you for your video. I've taken the points you made to heart. I feel like this time I can finally kick this habit for good, because I finally have some real reasons to. They've been there the entire time, but I didn't notice until recently.

Drank lots of water the more you pee the faster nicotine gets out of your system. Then was easier to wean down after breaking the heavy smoking cycle. 3 a day, to 2, 1, half’s, to none is the easiest way I did it without feeling guilty or bad or keeping exact track. Hey there, Coach Dom!
I am one of the 30+ stubborn people but am all about the growth mindset and constantly have self growth audiobooks and podcasts on throughout the day! 🙂 I have never smoked but my hubby and I both got addicted to nicotene gum 10 years ago. I stopped for both of my pregnancies but then started up again but read Alan Carr’s “The Easy Way” and though he warns against wheening, I was at 3 sheets of gum (10 per sheet) and now down to 4, tomorrow 3 and 2 and 1 and DONE!
I KNOW it will be a huge relief!
I also just recently read This Naked Mind by Annie Grace and though I’m not an alcoholic I just wanted my full mind present and sober so cut that out too 30 days back!
Feelin good and I am always looking for GOOD and GENUINE videos of real people who have actually quit and changed their life and your video was just that! Thanks so much for being vulnerable and sharing this with us! Definitely encouraging!!!

When you mentioned thinking about the kids you teach and them looking up to you and wanting to be the right example for them gave me goosebumps and almost made me emotional. I have an incredibly strong dependence on my juul. I was even hitting it throughout watching this video because I just feel the same stress relief you described. Fuck man. I need to make a change soon. Hope you're still clean. I just wanna know for a fact its possible. God bless and good luck in your journey trying to go pro. Thanks for making this.

I get the emotional side of quitting and how not being addicted makes it so much easier to be calm and present when interacting with people. I quit for 8 months in 2017 and felt so much more confident, grounded, and focused. Fell back into it but now and am going on day four of quitting. Trying to remember the benefits. Thanks for your video.

So dissapointed in myself. I quit smoking back in July and i didn't smoke for 3 months. Then summer was officially over, i started going out with friends more (friends that smoke) and soon enough i started begging for a cigarette from them. Of course they gave me one cause why not and 1 turned into 2 and 2 into a pack bought by myself, my money. It's been almost 1 month since i started smoking and i'm going cold turkey again. It's been 19 hours. Writing this doesn't make it easier, just gives me some extra hope. Wish me luck and i hope that this journey is final.

I started vaping when i was 16 now im 21. Ive quit 4 times for a week or longer and many many times for at least a day.
Im christian and yet twice ive sneaked my vape to christian camp because I couldnt imagine having any fun without it.
When a week has gone by and when withdrawals leave I convince myself to go back every time. I ask myself who am I without nicotine and tell myself its the struggle of quitting that gives me purpose in life and without struggling im without purpose.
Yesterday my dad passed out from rectal bleeding and this was the first emergency my parents have ever been in and several times throughout this crazy process of calling 911 and making sure hes okay I thought about vaping so many times.
Im on my 2nd day of quitting. I hope these realities sober me up enough to keep my sober

@@karine8738 in my experience the cravings come and go and you have to be patient with yourself and think of it as One day at a time.
The audiobook is on audible.com. I don’t know if it is available in all countries. It is about 20 US dollars. What I liked about it was that it felt like I had a real person there that could support me- like hearing a therapist or a speech on how and why to quit. I think I listened thru the book 3 or 4 whole times before quitting.
Also please be kind to yourself, one day of relapse doesn’t erase all the many days before that you stayed off nicotine. I was addicted to nicotine everyday all day for about 9 years. Today I am 457 days off and I will never go back. I know some people have smoked longer than I did but believe me I was so in the grasps of the addiction. If I could do it, so can you.
As for the anxiety and depression you must find other ways to self medicate - look up pranayama breathing exercises and try some different exercise or regular walking outdoors. It will take time to train the brain to not want nicotine when sad and anxious.
Sorry for the long reply - I am just passionate about people quitting nicotine ! I am still young but it controlled my life for far too long. Best of luck and I’m always happy to reply or talk 😎😜

The thing that hits home most was him talking about being with those you love but being completely distracted by needing nicotine, it’s definitely a thing and once you’ve quit it’s non existent which is one of the great gifts of stopping.

3 days into quitting for me. Today has been super difficult and so has the last two days, but I am determined to hit that 2 week mark and feel better. The physical withdrawals are taking a lot out of me but I know it’s worth it.

For all people who decided to quit and are about to relapse. Remember that no matter how severe the pain, it will pass. It is your choice though, at the end of the painful tunnel, do you want to emerge proud and victorious? Or defeated and a slave?!
You can f**king do it. No pain No GAIN!

Yaaasss. So true. I am going on 9 months vape free and it was like losing my best friend. So many emotions you now have to deal with without a nicotine crutch. But I did it cold turkey and if you’ve seen my vids you’d know I LOVED vaping. So if I can, you can quit anybody can! Do it! Thanks for posting this video. Too many kids are hooked on this poison. Once you get hooked your hooked. I innocently used vape to quit smoking thinking I could quit vape easier... ten years later I was still vaping. So glad I quit finally. But like you, its no joke.

Hey big man. Good speech and it was definitely meaningful to a lot of people. I'm detoxing rn from nicotine atm and I sympathised when watching this enough to say that I will show this to my friend. He is in the same position as yourself where he is a tennis pro doing tourniments all over the world at 19 years old but has formed this strong ciggeratte addiction when he moved to the US. I'll make it my duty to let him hear you out and understand what he's taking away from his own future. Thank you.

Hey! It is also my 4th day without nicotine. I feel a lot of the withdraws, especially the last 3 days, but today is better. I made a mental switch and tell myself “I don’t want to be a vaper” or “I don’t vape”. I find saying these two and having a meaning behind it really helps. This has been the longest time with no nicotine in my life since the Fall of 2012... I will make my story in a video someday and give perspective on everything
