Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of DS 4 2022

- Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways
a far-side impact test, the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated by two dummies in the front.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

i'v been involved in a car crash with the old DS4. A car came on my side of the road. 80km/h each car. Hit right on the front. I got nothing. Thanks to Citroen and DS automobile for the safety and the security. Love you guys, you saved my life!
That side airbag is such a good idea!
The central airbag seems to keep the driver nicely in place in a side impact.

@@Mdtttttt me too, passengers colliding together is a common cause of serious injury and death. This is the best performing centre airbag I've seen.

So they tested the New DS4 but not the New 308?
The crash score is good it’s just 4 stars because of driving assistance issues
I would get the safety pack.
And I’m sure the Peugeot 308 will get the same score, cos the DS4 and 308 are brothers.

@@DaveDVideoMaker no it's not even the same platform. 508 is EMP2v2 and C5X is EMP2v3. It's related to the 308, Astra, DS4 and mostly the future "4008" (unconfirmed name).
2:04 why is the footage for honda looking at the code on the poster?
@CJ The 22-HON-xxxxxx serial was from the Honda HR-V 2022 test, it might be a mix up of the clips th-cam.com/video/AwrA14gcteQ/w-d-xo.html

Some useless systems that everyone switches off, but for which EuroNCAP gives stars 😜
Adds advanced stop assist.. radar, cameras.. If the car doesn't come with it standard, it can't get 5 stars.

How can a 4 star rating be acceptable in 2022. Nice looking cars, but not as safe as even a Chinese offering.
@CJ I’m not saying that it’s not safe, but that my 13 year old Falcon has a five star rating with only two airbags. The Great Wall /Haval small SUVs have a five star rating. Citroen is a 105 year old manufacturer, yet is marketing 4 star cars?
@@No1CoolDad i assume that the 5 star rating on your Flacon was from 13+ years ago, the tests nowadays are more stricter. It would probably not get a 5 star rating again today. But if it was tested recently by NCAP, then fair play...
@@martleeflang fair call mate. I realise that the fifth star under the current regime involves passive safety and the expectation that manufacturers adopt technologies that weren’t available that long ago.
@@No1CoolDad tests are way stricter now, all impacts happen at higher speeds. A 5 star car from 13 years ago would maybe get 2 stars now. Just look at the fiat Punto, 5 stars when released and 1 star now with the new tests.
